Call me the eternal optimist, a dreamer, or just plain crazy, but I have another of my gut feelings.
Leeds will beat Southampton
Huddersfield will beat Ipswich
and as a result we will be automatically promoted.
I only hope it is as correct as my previous gut feelings.

Let the journey begin Jungle! On On On!
04 May 2024 07:06:56
This is it boys, judgement day! Good post Jungle, and I pray š you are right mate, but if not, dry your eyes mate as itās off to Wembley we go š we are all wounded but a good team performance today against the Saints bodes well for the play offs. DF needs to put a huge marker down today to say, āwe are Leeds, we want this more than youā nothing less than our strongest possible team needs to be on that pitch, and the players on that pitch need to leave everything they have on it, nothing less will suffice! Alright, we have been hurt, but we have a second bite at the cherry, and how many teams would give their right arm for that opportunity, stop sulking Leeds, seize this opportunity and you will go down in Leeds United history, come on Daniel, come on Leeds, letās do this MOT ALAW ššššš¤š¤šš.
04 May 2024 07:57:43
I have a feeling also Jungle
A feeling that you didn't go bed yet have downed to much alcohol and had a " good idea " and are now talking silly with a phone in your hand š¤£
We probs beat Saints alright
But Ipswich will clobber udders
Not sure about playoffs, as it's just a Leeds thing to be rubbish at them once again š¤£.
04 May 2024 08:05:49
Rousing speech Sir Woody Churchill
Think Leeds will win narrowly
Leeds 2 Saints 1
But the devotees of Crufts will get beat easily
Ipswich 3 Huddersfield 0
So.
Brush up on your singing of " Wemberley Wemberley we are the famous Leeds United. "

Is it me or is there a lot of bickering going on.
We have either 1 game left or 4, and i know whatever happens I will still be Leeds, and don't get me wrong I've shouted and screamed throughout the season, but we have all been round long enough to know that Leeds never have it easy.
Would you like it easy? Not sure I would, what did manutd have to talk about in the 90s, nothing that's what, just boring winning every week. Life is a rollercoaster just got to ride it, and i for one will take the ups, downs and bumps.
Looking forward to the journey whatever the destination. MOT.
03 May 2024 22:51:54
Good post Dougie.
Wherever we find ourselves next season, you are quite right, we will all be shouting and screaming again (and we will enjoy every minute of it! )
03 May 2024 23:06:13
Dougie We could also and more than likely have 3 games left.
04 May 2024 01:19:12

4 games left evens
1 game left 16/ 1.

Is there only me still feeling a little bit of optimism for tomorrow. All it needs is Ipswich to fluff it tomorrow and that's more than possible. And then us to win (a bit less likely, but come on) ! It's easily still on.
Otherwise I don't really like getting involved in the bickering but I couldn't resist responding to all the Farke criticism. He might have made a couple of team selections over the course of a season that some of us might not have agreed with, but so has every manager across all the leagues. But on the whole he's been great.
Just think back to what he inherited and what a lot of us were predicting at the start of the season; "mid-table at best", "we'll be lucky not to get relegated again". He's done a remarkable job and we should appreciate him a bit more (in my humble opinion, but I'm usually wrong any way)
03 May 2024 15:36:41
Totally agree, a victim of his own success comes to mind.
03 May 2024 15:57:28
At the end of Summer window he lost Sini but surprisingly Gnonto remained. plus CS, GR, PB, DJ
Along with the key signing of JR as well as EA . he had a strong team.
90 points is nothing more than par for the course for a newly relegated EPL team with parachute payments
Last season Burnley 103 or something even Sheff U 91
Bottom line though for Farke and Martin is that both have been out performed by McKenna . Ipswich finishing above Leeds and Southampton is not acceptable.
03 May 2024 17:46:33
Good posts Firps and OP. Bored to death of reading the rest, on repeat, again.
03 May 2024 18:10:53
Totally agree TRJFirpo, after the summer window closed and we knew what squad we had, I believe many on here were thinking mid-table at best.
He has done fantastically well, and yes, McKenna has done better, but that doesnāt take away from the Leeds effort. When Leicester won the league, nobody started criticising the managers of Man U, Arsenal, Citeh etc, we all knew it was a fluke and they rode their luck and momentum. It happens!
Letās just crack on, see what tomorrow brings and if thatās the playoffs, so be it, and if that brings Championship football next season, so be it. Iāll still enjoy it and have a better chance of getting tickets!
03 May 2024 18:57:39
Victim of his own success šššš.
03 May 2024 19:12:27
Sorry Bazooka but I donāt know anything about Burnleyās promotion squad last season or owt, but to compare them and us youād need to compare the players they lost, the summer they had, the pre-season prep. And ours at the start of this season was woeful in all of those respects.
Better to compare what heās done to what we realistically expected and heās done a very good job overcoming all those hurdles.
Plus keeping hold of certain players who wanted to leave who have been key this season, which was great work. I for one was saying āget rid of them if they donāt wanna be hereā. And Iām happy to have been proved wrong btw- look at the positives and just get behind him for one more game (maybe 4 more games)
03 May 2024 19:57:31
Firpo
Farke's done ok so far . if we go up then much better ofc.
03 May 2024 19:46:26
You can shove those little laughing emojiās right where the sun donāt shine Whiteman, you of all posters on here is bereft of any understanding of what professional football is about.
Have a nice weekend fella and letās hope Leeds lose tomorrow so you can have more of a moan.
Pitiful.
03 May 2024 20:19:35

03 May 2024 20:58:50
If we'd have been hovering around 6-10 all season and got into the playoffs I think we'd all be pretty buzzing getting there.
Just a bitter pill to swallow when you've been top, had a great unbeaten run and then lose out at the last moments.
I get the frustration, but overall Farke has done well this season, but he still has his flaws which concern me.
Be class if a miracle happens tomoz. But failing that, I'll take a win and get the momentum going again if we are to be going into the playoffs, which is most likely.
Hoping for the best.
03 May 2024 23:13:10
What Whitey said. Victim of his diminishing forward planning. He complained (rightly) about fixture pile up and tiredness yet doesn't use the bench enough for rotation. Admittedly his bench not as good as first team but it's something, reasonably competitive and allows recovery of the rested in a fortnight. Playing same team disregarding the issue you identified smacks of frightened rabbit š° in the headlights, not victim of success.

Baz Die Jungs haben richtig hart gespielt.
04 May 2024 07:22:06
Der zwei dummkopf.
Before this season got underway and even during the start until the transfer window closed, the club was in complete turmoil with many players effectively wanting to leave due to the loan clauses in their contracts.
We had by the end of September Drawn 5, Lost 2 and Won 3 games, meanwhile Leicester and Ipswich were both ripping up the league and we were already about 10 points behind the leaders.
There were several of you blokes on here who were already predicting a mid table finish for this season, strangely enough 12th was it not Baz?
Yet, through his excellent and successful experience in the Championship, Farke managed to steady the ship and start us on an amazing winning streak, which the doubters love to ignore, breaking all time Leeds United records, even the Revie era.
By the end of March after being behind Leicester by no less than a massive 17 points by the end of December, remarkably we found ourselves at the top of the league by the end of March.
Now, if you numbskulls want to believe Farke doesnāt know what heās doing with his selections or whatever brainless thing you concoct about his so called failures, then wake up and smell the coffee.
Thatās why now some of you constant moaners, like Whiteman now want more, what is it exactly you want, mid table or promotion?
Of course because Farke has done so well considering our difficult start to the season you want more.
Is that not being a victim of his own success when unfortunately after such an amazing comeback, we just fell short of the autos and some are now berating Farke when at the start of the season they didnāt give him or the team anywhere near a chance of promotion.
Put that in your pipe and smoke it!
03 May 2024 13:55:29
If play offs is our destiny then we will be playing WBA or Hull.
Personally I think form goes out of the window in games like these, very much like a cup game and thereāll be a lot down to luck.
Our last game against Carlos Corberanās team dealt us a defeat where had there been a competent ref we should of had a penalty and a red card for their player.
Ironically it was Rodonās red card that kept the honours even at Hull, where perhaps we could have taken all three points.
All in the past now, itās now down to the roll of the dice games.
Exciting but nerve wracking at the same time.
03 May 2024 15:11:02
Totally agree OP and I know itās a kick in the teeth if we lose but the excitement and the adrenaline is incredible and I wouldnāt change that exciting feeling for anything, the buzz in the ground, the euphoria the day after, priceless! Bring it on ššMOT.
03 May 2024 18:10:58
Absolutely fellas. Bring it on!
03 May 2024 21:04:12
Hey Baz, talk about conveniently forgetting information ā¦. you forget, that Farke lost not only Siri, he lost Rodrigo (seasons top scorer) , Jack Harrison (our only āEPL quality playerā according to you) and Wober (our ābest defenderā and āfuture Captainā according to you) and the Captain of the US team, plus 9 others. Gnonto also was on strike at the start of the season.
Comparing our team at the start of the season, with that of Burnley, Leicester and Southampton is utter folly.

Posting it twice OP doesn't do anything for your posts relevance Ani
Farke has had a stronger team than all but arguably Leicester.
03 May 2024 23:11:16
I didnāt post twice Baz. Lots of posts are going up twice.
Farke may have a stronger team now, but he certainly didnāt inherit the strongest team by any measure. As usual detract away from points being made.
04 May 2024 01:24:31
" Lots of posts "? . as in just one other Ani
Look Ani we get it
you deeply regret your Ipswich prediction .
it's OK fella . life really does go on.
04 May 2024 01:52:40
Baz Prediction of the Millennium.
04 May 2024 07:16:46
Ok, Baz,
You claim to have forecasted our three defeats in December. No one around here remembers that, but letās be honest, none of us have friends that think we have an outstanding memory to vindicate us, but weāll give you the benefit of the doubt, however, we do remember, since I made my Ipswich prediction,
ā¦that you said January was going to be pretty miserable ā¦you were 100% wrong.
ā¦. that unless we bought a LB, CAM and a striker, we would have no chance of promotion, you were 100% wrong.
ā¦that this team has seriously underperformed, yet have been 20 points ahead of your (claimed amongst many ) 6th place prediction; you were 100% wrong.
ā¦. recently, that Southampton would secure automatic promotion, you were wrong again.
ā¦. that Everton would never get a points deduction. They got two; you were wrong.
As for me regretting predicting Ipswichās demise, why? Do you actually think the drivel spouted spurred Ipswich on? Come on Baz, is that the level of your intellect? If I have a regret, itās not appreciating the juvenile tosh it precipitated here, nothing more. Ipswich have continued to confound everyone, even you Baz. You now supposedly thought Ipswich would fall away in April (though for some reason didnāt share that thought at the time? ) despite them only dropping points once in March? Baffling?
Do you have any regrets about rubbishing our team alll season, being utterly disrespectful of others opinions, for your continued juvenile jibes? Any regrets for making all those (small sample above) very poor predictions?
04 May 2024 07:36:15
It wasnāt a prediction, Baz is wind up merchant who prefers other teams success than our own.
03 May 2024 10:58:28
I feel it would be remiss of me not to mention that this May is Time For A Cuppa 2024! This is a great opportunity to look in on some of our mates, and spend time having a cuppa with friends. It can make a big difference to anyone struggling mentally and who wouldn't want to help a mate out?
Why not make it extra special by baking a splendid fruitloaf, perfect with a cuppa!
Hereās how:
Ingredients:
š 175g mixed dried fruits
š 225ml hot tea
š 225g self-raising flour
š 100g brown sugar
š 1 egg
š Orange zest
Method:
1ļøā£ Soak fruits in tea (2 hrs or overnight) .
2ļøā£ Mix all ingredients, bake at 180Ā°C for 1-1.25 hrs.
Enjoy with good company!

03 May 2024 12:40:50
Iām busy Alf. Can I just buy a cake?
03 May 2024 12:59:50
Iāve got one of those cakes Alf, Gran gave it me in 1967, itās still good today!
03 May 2024 14:39:11
World wide Alf or just the tiny isle of uk?
Not that it matters. Just not heard of it previously.
However. Talking of cakes.
I have been the family Xmas cake matter for 20 yrs now. All delicious.
03 May 2024 21:01:49
Yes you can buy a cake or just have a cuppa on its own or with biccies.
03 May 2024 08:50:22
Farke won't be going anywhere next season and rightly so . He needs another season regardless .
However couple things that have annoyed me with him
He talks about the amount of games and player welfare - however he threw Rutter straight back in team after hernia surgery, he hasn't looked the same player since.
After the international break we really should have used the squad, to me
The Welsh lads needed a break, we have players they are not getting any minutes at all. He is also saying about how young the team is and the average age yet he was willing to let Ayling go and continue with gray week in week out . I definitely think he's made a few errors and the last few weeks Farke has panicked and was not willing to change.
03 May 2024 11:01:33
Its easy to claim things would have been different had we done this, that or the other but then if it doesn't work everyone moans that it should have been left the same. look at archie, many moaned he wasn't in midfield, then he was moved to midfield and hasn't done so well. People moan about Bamford then he doesn't play vs QPR and we are all wishing he did.
Damned if you do, damned if you don't.
Fact is we don't know for sure what is a 'mistake' and what isn't, and that's what makes it so easy to be an armchair manager, so why not let the expert make the decisions?
03 May 2024 12:10:02
My thoughts entirely Alf. Some may say Farke is paid a lot of money and should not make errors.
The onslaught of the relentless demanding pressure on coaches/ managers by fans and media is way beyond anything reasonable these days.
Itās instant success or the sack, thereās very rarely anything in between.
Then of course there is Jesse Marsch!
03 May 2024 13:42:50
SF49ers will give DF another season.
Will he learn from his numerous mistakes this season. Doubt it.
03 May 2024 14:45:22
They mainly get paid out right opti?
They want to succeed mainly to increase their pay demands. Few exceptions which I wonāt get into.
Biesla has class and tried his best.
Jesse was a wNker with no class and no talent.
But both got paid out.
Put failure mode into managers contract like success mode. Iāve said this before. Which is diff to I told you so.
Anyway. Wonāt get into it now.
Eve of Armageddon.
03 May 2024 15:17:16
DF has reached a record points tally for third, the highest in 20 years, which begs the question, what mistakes? Just putting it out there! I mean any other season and we are promoted! ššš¤·š¤·.
03 May 2024 15:58:55
Farke has been a great success for this season in my opinion, he may of made some errors in his selections but all managers do, name me a manager whoās never made an error?
As Woody said, you donāt make many errors if you are breaking Leeds United records like points tallyās and most league wins in succession since 1931.
The inexperience of some of his very young players has denied Farke of getting this team over the line.
It does my head in that players donāt cop much flak when results donāt go the teams way, managers are always the scapegoat.
Of course Baz knows better though, but I donāt hear many Leeds fans calling for his appointment š¤Ŗ.
03 May 2024 16:03:19
Plenty Woody.
03 May 2024 16:07:16
Woody
On these pages and Leeds match day live thread you yourself have said DF has made mistakes in quite a few matches.
03 May 2024 16:12:48
On the contrary OP . Mes and co are definitely culpable too.
03 May 2024 16:40:04
I have Baz you are correct, and please excuse me if it seems Iāve been guilty of double standards, but Iāve never said he has been a failure or indeed should be sacked. I like him as a manager, he has a connection with us the supporters, he has been amazing, but he has made a mistake or two and he even admits to that. It has been a soul destroying month after such an amazing start to the year. He seems to of been guilty of overplaying the team when maybe it just needed to be brought back and simplified after the first defeat back after the international break. šš.
03 May 2024 16:43:07
I also was referring to major mistakes when I said I was just putting it out there. To be honest after the start we had I did wonder if he would be ok but he has proved that we need to trust him Baz. šš.
03 May 2024 17:36:22
OK Woody cheers for clarification š.
03 May 2024 07:55:40
Looking on the bright side at least weāve still got something to play for if a miracle doesnāt happen this weekend. Missing out on play offs is harder still.
Reading Farkes interview he has accredited some error on himself in our last game, he believes he shouldnāt have taken Byram off just before they scored their second.
But he did accuse his players of being too defensive minded and not playing our normal on the front foot,
Letās hope for something very spectacular on the weekend and if not then a big day at Wembley.
03 May 2024 08:44:47
Byram hasn't played well last couple he's started, so not too sure about that one tbh. He's pretty unconvincing at RB. Positionally, I think he operates better at LB. Gets caught out way too much at RB. Hence the reckless challenge against QPR.
03 May 2024 11:30:02
OP you just proved my point I've been making all season. DF said we were too defensive minded BUT! He has played 2 defensive midfielders all season. AGAIN, no plan B. He never even tried 3 at the back.
Taking Byram off against QPR didn't cost us automatic promotion, His poor player management and tactics after the Chelsea Game was to blame.
BUT! He still has the playoffs to make amends.
03 May 2024 12:32:34
šŖ It's called handbrake football. Demonstrated by zero goals all season from midfield. Archie strike against the eventual champions was an OG. Amps' cup goals was when he played as a defender. š now is Rutter. If he returns to fitness and form, we can succeed. If not, it'll be š.
03 May 2024 13:07:24
I agree George about Rutter, but a good performance all round tomorrow is what's required, to give the team some much needed confidence ahead of the play offs.
03 May 2024 13:44:07
George handbrake football indeed.
03 May 2024 14:08:28
Don't get me wrong, I do think Farke has done a good job and I want to keep him next season. But does anyone else get bored of the constant references to tiredness, two many games in a week or being a young team? They're professional footballers so should be able to play at the weekend and midweek. Yes we have done young players, but these are also either international players or ones worth some money or we've paid a lot of money for. With the squad that we have on paper, we should have been promoted this season. Yes we had a poor start/ loan saga, but we had plenty of games after this where we're dropped points. The most recent being the last two home games and qpr, but there were plenty of games before that. I'm still hoping for a miracle this weekend so we go up automatically. If not that we go up via the playoffs. It we do, I think we will definitely need to strengthen in the summer. If we don't win play offs, we may lose some players, but based on some performances recently, I'm not fussed if they decide to leave. Does anyone know what the situation is with the loan players who left us? Are they allowed to go out on loan again or are we able to sell?
02 May 2024 09:03:34
Callum o hare could be a free transfer in the summer
If we are in the champ next season I would say make him a priority . I think it's a position we need to really have a little more depth in .
Playing Rutter after he had the hernia op was because we had no other choice.
02 May 2024 11:08:40
O Hare a decent shout.
Problem is IF Leeds get to Playoff final they won't know which division they will be in till May 26th .
Whilst waiting for playoffs final they may miss out on possible targets for either an EPL campaign or Champo campaign ( not yet knowing which)
Hammond and co MUST get recruitment SPOT ON this summer window in all sections of team and squad ( they did not do so over previous 2 windows) ,
02 May 2024 14:08:54
We donāt buy until August baz so wonāt miss a heartbeat or anybody.
Relax
We know what we are doing.
Professionally run by professionals!
02 May 2024 16:02:28
Are you sarcastically suggesting that Leeds United recruitment isn't that proactive or good Aus .
Surely not.
03 May 2024 08:47:04
If we remain in the EFL, he's definitely someone I'd go for. Especially as a free transfer.
