Bielsa post match comments are very worrying - he sounds tired and defeated, almost resigned to continued struggles. My bet is he is off back to Argy at end of season.

The squad is what it is, stronger than last year in my view but then so are many other outfits.

This is a business to Radz, I stated at the start of summer that net spending would be more or less zero and that looks like being the case.

I had my own business for many years and believe it or not making a profit was quite important! Radz has many irons in the fire and probably shuffles money between them etc.

In many respects he ( and us) is real lucky to have had the clear profit from KP and Raph to spend - without that we would been in serious trouble because his hand is not going into his own pocket - his exit strategy is nearly complete and he is going to walk away with much moolah - and good luck to him, we have done well under his stewardship.

Upfront we have BamBam, Joffy and Greenwood ( both are going to be great) Rodrigo - We will be fine!

Maybe we should get behind who we have and you complainers could possibly offer to write out a check for 70 million of your own loot for a striker or whatever.

ITS KICK OFF TIME - let's ENJOY IT AND SUPPORT THE TEAM AS SELECTED EVERY WEEK!

Excellent 1970! So true! Let’s wish everyone a great season, Struick best left back centre back in the league and the strikers fighting each other to stick the ball in the net! Ps I think we’ll be ok and I think we’ll have a start of the season tussle with wolves winning 3/ 2!

2.) 05 Aug 2022 17:08:12
I would say we did well for the first few years but we stagnated if nit went backwards last season and cab see us doing better than 2 seasons ago this year unless Orta has pulled an uncharacteristic blinder with signings despite letting our 2 best players go. Would have ebeen nice of a Radz and the other stooges had moved on at the end ofbthe first season back in the prem.

70, that's the thing in a nutshell pal .

Radz likes to run with the fox + the hound . The way some on here speak of him you would swear he's a charity case and doing all this for the betterment of LUFC .

Last season demonstrated how far he is willing to go without spending his own .

Without a transfer fee incoming he left a Xmas window go, apart from his Forshaw comment with almost catastrophic results .

He is going to be a hugely wealthy man when he eventually sells us .
And he's well entitled to that as he is the owner . But even in the meantime he has accrued plenty of wealth from his ownership.

Last year was pathetic and if he don't sanction an improved 9 this time around we are again going to have a long rough ride imo.

4.) 05 Aug 2022 17:56:00
Typo mistake ( and doing all this ONLY for the betterment of LUFC ) should have came out.

Good post Chris.

I don’t see where Radz is not in favour of the betterment of Leeds Utd, surely the stronger his asset becomes the more he will profit.
I also don’t get where fans think owners of clubs are just in it for a hobby? It’s a business to hopefully make a lot of financial gains and success.

Boys, have faith in Joffy and Bamford (In that order! ) I have high hopes for Joffy - think he could be something special in pretty short order.

Wouldn't like to be Jamie V at dinner tonite - his Missus looks like shes been ridden hard and put away wet and might be a tad wound up for the foreseeable future!

Georgie lad you misread - I mistakenly said bottom EighTH not eight, I was wrong any e=way as I di mean bottom quarter which far from being tautolous was underlining my dire prediction.

Ok - was full of hope before tour started now am very concerned with two things

1 How easily we are still opened at the back - we will still ship a lot of goals against the better teaams that only need a sniff of the target to take advantage.

2 Absolute lack of goal scoring threat due to inability to create.
I like Joffy a lot - think he can become really good but he has to be given an opening!

Then we have JM trying to play narrow - there is a reason that the pitch is 74 yds wide, let's use it without having to have the fullbacks constantly having to overlap, sometimes yes.

JM seems to be fixated on bringing in old acquaintances - are they the best for the money or is that all we can attract?

My prediction is that we will not be in bottom half this season, we will in fact be in bottom eighth.

I've said it before mid table mediocrity is no fun, the excitement either comes for challenging for a European place or fighting in a relegation battle. You can't argue that the last game last season wasn't exciting now can you.

I fear I know where our excitement will be coming from next year!

1970 If we're in bottom 8 by definition we must be in bottom half. This renders your prediction tautologous. What's wrong with finishing 12th at this juncture?

2.) 23 Jul 2022 16:54:25
Bottom 8? I'd say bottom 6 we have to hope there's still 3 teams worse than us one of the promotion teams will probably do well if two do ok then where in big trouble, I'd love to be wrong but can't see it with the defence and midfield and lack of an out and out striker, to have any chance we after to be better at home with doubling our wins from last seasons 4 to at least 8 with some good draws in there. This is about being realistic not negativity unless the new boys can up there game to Prem level to push us more to mid table.

3.) 23 Jul 2022 17:28:11
Realism indeed Gelderd

Of the promoted teams Forest have recruited quite well and a have good manager can see them finishing well above Leeds

Leeds, Brentford, Fulham, Bournemouth, maybe Southampton and Everton will be battling out for relegation

If we foolishly don't sign a good LB and at least one goalscorer we will be bottom 3 imho.

4.) 23 Jul 2022 17:56:01
Look, our expectations should be lowered a tad, I include myself in this, when we were promoted then finished 9th in the the Prem, we were riding the crest of a wave that made us believe we were better than we really were.
I now understand that you evolve slowly in the Premiership, the beginning is all about survival and trying to develop season upon season.
We are not the only team to be promoted, have a sensational first season then get kicked in the gonads the season after, just surviving if you are lucky enough.
As far as I’m concerned if we finish above 17th position, that is progress, mid table is a fantasy.
If we can continue our progressive climb up the Premiership table over the next 3/ 4 seasons, we will have hopefully stabilized our existence in this extremely competitive league.

I think once we have achieved that, Radz will sell the club and whether that’s the 49er’s or any other big investor, this is where perhaps our fortunes will gather more pace and lead us onto the next level.
Wanting instant success is normal but sadly it is not realistic. I for one will be taking a lot more pragmatic view of our development in the Prem.
It took us 17 years to get back in the Prem, non of us want to be relegated back to the lower leagues again. I believe Radz is taking the right steps to build the solid foundations once again for this beloved club of ours, but there will be bumps in the road.
Steady as she goes.

Please see my post from earlier this week! Of course he knew, no doubt what so ever - question is would he have spent regardless?

Probably not - but as I stated previously we will end up with net profit the window for Radz to siphon off a couple of million for other ventures.

He has been good for Leeds but first and foremost he is a business man looking to make a profit.

Don't think we need 38 pts - more like 34/ 5, worryingly that is getting closer and closer to more than a point a game which we don't seem capable of.

Next 3 or 4 give us the best chance of points - to get those you have to get goals - to get those you have to hit the effing target - why oh why Joffy is not given a run of games defeats me!
