Best result we could have hoped for, Hull winning, means they will need to beat Ipswich for play-off spot, obviously providing Norwich lose. We so desperately need a win on Friday, if that happens a loss and a draw gets us up.

Agree3 Disagree0

Stevie, stop stressing, it's cool. We are destined lol, but a part of me hopes we go up at a packed Wembley in late May, what an occaision that would be. I think though, by Tuesday evening we will be promoted ?.

Vid Ipswich will beat Coventry . Hull vs Ipswich is the key match as long as Hull still have a chance of getting into top 6

Leeds must beat QPR on Fri

On Sat 3pm Norwich and/ or Baggies must NOT win to keep Hull with a chance of top 6 when they play Ipswich Sat at 8pm.

The timing is not great.
All week I’ve thought. Yeah we got this. We are going to do it.
We just have to see how it plays out. We don’t know what results of games are going to be. Look at toffees last night ?
We can only try and win ours and the stars align
Two more big heave hos and fingers crossed back to the promise land.
Hoooooo raaaaaaa.

Impossible to predict any results now. Coventry have just as much chance to beat Ipswich. As Middlesbrough proved, you don’t have to have anything to play for to put out a big performance.
In fact the more the importance, more the pressure and nerves.
Leicester could although unlikely, lose their last two games!
When you are behind, as we are in the table, the psychological point is that we have nothing to lose, to protect your higher position, you have everything to lose.
The strength is in the attack not in the defense, so to speak.

Even if Norwich win (hopefully only by a small margin) , Hull would theoretically still be able to get past them, but obviously with a significant swing in goal difference.

While. Coventry will have nothing as a team/ club to play for hopefully their best players will want to put in a decent effort against one of the top teams to prove their quality to potential suitors who could provide an alternative route out of the EFL. Obviously the dual disappointment of just missing out on FA Cup final and now falling short of playoffs won’t help the atmosphere in the stadium, but I guess beating high-flying Ipswich would be the last thing for them to aspire to for this season - one last hurrah, their final game at home to QPR is hardly one to set the pulses racing.

Much straw-clutching, I know, and the proof of the ‘pudding’ will be in the watching/ listening, from behind the sofa.

You got to love our team and this site, brings people together to talk a load of old dribble, and i mean that in a nice way. Doris Day sang a song about what we are discussing, Que sera, sera, whatever will be, will be. Gets grip on tight, squeeze the old bum cheeks in and hopefully enjoy the ride. MOT.

It might not have been pretty, but I think the Boro win might just be the thing to get us back on track and provide the impetus for wins in the next two games.

The one thing I know for sure is that I am going to enjoy how ever many games we have left before the tedious silly season starts.

25 Apr 2024 14:46:16
One doesn't need to sing your fave Doris Day songs Dougie to correctly predict

1) Citeh win league. check

2 ) Luton, Burnley, Sheff U going down. check

3) Everton won't be anywhere near getting R . check

4) Leicester win Champo. check

5) Man U are mediocre/ underperform again . check

6) Leeds U finish 2nd . check . (ok that one was not predicted ??)

25 Apr 2024 14:52:15
Getting to EPL is financially desirable of course . but not sure any Sheff U fan enjoyed much/ any of their season in it

A truly woeful season with an avalanche of defeats and goal concessions

EPL genuinely not really much of an enjoyable league to be in for quite a few clubs supporters perhaps.

25 Apr 2024 17:18:53
Wasn’t for us for the last two season either!

25 Apr 2024 17:35:40
Definitely Brighty.

25 Apr 2024 18:01:38
Yes, two bad seasons in there for us. Especially the last one and those awful last 10 games.

25 Apr 2024 19:43:13
Stadium ?️ expansion is the ?️ to higher achievement in the EPL.

25 Apr 2024 21:17:24
Kinda agree George. But the right recruitment more important.

25 Apr 2024 23:53:41
Cork Don't think the two can be achieved simultaneously. We must prioritize the stadium ?️.

26 Apr 2024 12:58:45
George. Brighto stadium. is smallish yet they have been. doing great for many a year with great recruitment

So Cork is correct.

Baz Brighton is a one-off. Just because they have done very well using whatever model they rely upon doesn't mean we can replicate it. The financial rules are changing to a SCC. Squad cost control. It's directly linked to incoming revenue so gate receipts will play a substantial part in the equation to allow large spending on recruitment. We therefore need a 50,000 seater minimum in order to compete. I'd personally argue we could use a 60,000 seater.

26 Apr 2024 15:35:21
There are examples of other clubs too George such as Brentford, Palace, Fulham and dare I say it Bournemouth

But fair enough re your point on changing financial rules.

26 Apr 2024 16:00:04
Baz Yes those clubs along with Brighton are what Orta ought to have been. Perhaps the clue was in his name. Our new sporting recruitment team is a vast improvement.
