I don't see much praise on here for our hard fought victory last night.
Having games served on a silver plate is not going to happen from here on in as Leicester and Ipswich found out last night also.

The pressure is on now, it’s not very often in the Championship that you have four teams fighting for automatic promotion and including ourselves, nerves are now setting in.
It’s all about who can keep their nerve as it was very evident last night that the top three teams won their games but not at all convincingly.

I don’t want to focus on the other teams as it takes away the appreciation of what our own team is doing. Last night night we did miss a lot of opportunities in the first half and were not ruthless enough in front of goal.
James thankfully saved the day though.
We definitely needed that second goal and it probably would have eased the pressure in the second half, but full praise has to go to our defense and of course for Meslier from keeping several of their shots out of our net.

There are one or two players struggling with form atmo and that is probably due to the onslaught of having to play so many games recently.
So I applaud all the efforts of our team last night for a hard fought victory and those three vital points ??

Well said OP, regardless of what the other 3 teams are doing the focus is what our team does. I know some think there are easy games in this league, we are now at the business end of the season and even the lower placed teams are scrapping for points to stay up.

06 Mar 2024 07:21:14
Yes op we won and that is what matters. Scruffy 1-0. I think that's what we wanted at the start of the season. To win despite not playing well.
Is this a lull before the last few games.

06 Mar 2024 07:56:42
Love it! Fully agree. I can say I’ve not enjoyed watching leeds this much since srgt Wilko days and this team and farke really remind me of them!

Mot and happy days bring in Friday.

06 Mar 2024 08:11:10
Spot on OP, we had to grind out a result against a team that were decent in the second half, so job done.
We played really well in the first half and carved them open a number of times, and because of the focus and doubling up on Jimmy, it enabled so much positive play down the right where DJ and Roberts had so much success. We should have been more clinical and be 2 or 3 up and it would have been a comfortable day, but their keeper pulled off some great saves, probably their MOTM.
Second half was a different story, they came out of the blocks and pressed hard as any struggling team at the business end of the season would, and we dropped back and defended, but many looked so tired.
Kamara didn’t have a great game, especially the second half and maybe Archie should have replaced him 20 minutes earlier.
Thought the back line and Messlier played very well and Rodon and Amps were immense and although it was a bit squeaky bum time at the end, we got what we all demanded, 3 points.
Think Archie will replace Kamara on Friday and I would like to see Joseph get more game time, whether he starts or not, as he made a difference when he came on, think we have a cracking prospect there.
My MOTM - DJ.

Great point mg about Joseph.

I’ve said on here a few times orta got slated… However Belisa made first team sigings (which where hit and Miss… more miss) but orta was buying ones for the future

Jospeh, meslier, struijk, Summerville, rutter, gnoto probably a few more.

I think orta needs a lot more credit than he gets from most leeds fans. Personally I always rated him.

06 Mar 2024 09:19:40
Bielsa made first team signings according to whom? After Bielsa left did the quality of first team signings improve?

06 Mar 2024 09:23:03
Sadly OP there seems to be a lot of negative posters who prefer to get on Farkes back about everything they can, regardless of whether we win or lose. Maybe people are just like that bug I'm not sure how we can argue with 3pts in the bag, undefeated 2024 (and its March) and 9 wins out of 10.

06 Mar 2024 09:34:58
Alf indeed. not confirmed by anyone ( just Berma rhetoric for the millionth time ZZzzzzz ) that Bielsa made first team signings not Orta.

06 Mar 2024 10:11:00
It’s well known Belisa made first team sigings…. He mentioned it a number of times. He insisted on making all coaching appointments and first team signings

It’s well reported end of first seaso he was leaving unless we got a replacement for pablo…that he picked himself… that player was holder Costa … who I actually rated.

Belisa was a control freak (which was good and bad) to think he didn’t pick the players is crazy… farke also picks our transfers and has done great.

To be fair the transfers didn’t improve after he left but orta gets stuck for players he didn’t sign

The players he signed were our ones for the future and they have been amazing signings.

06 Mar 2024 10:11:49
There’s a lot attention on Ipswich right now especially from the media and that will create more pressure on them as the end of the season draws closer.

It’s going to be another really tough game against the Wendies on Friday and I agree that there should be some fresh legs on, I think that’s why Farke rested Archie, we could of done with playing him against Stoke but the turnaround for the Wendies is very short and Archie will be invaluable in that game.
Same goes for Joseph, he did add some much needed energy towards the end of the game whereas Paddy was clearly lagging.
I don’t mind starting with Paddy but if he is tiring, Farke should change him for Joseph sooner rather than later. Last night I thought he left it a bit late.

Couldn’t understand why they took their two wingers off towards the end of the game when we were really under the kosh, them two were causing us all sorts of problems. ?

06 Mar 2024 10:51:00
OP Ipswich as a team seem to be coping ( very) well with the pressure last year and this . they are proving it every week with wins.

L1 Champions last season, 6 wins now in a row at present, just 4 defeats all season ; posters including you erroneously predicting them being out of top 2 run in race proved so very wrong as I pre warned.

Bottom line is that 100 points may be needed to get top 2 . so Leeds needed 9 wins out of final 11 games ( now 8 wins from 10)

OP What's your prediction score Sheff Wed vs Leeds?

06 Mar 2024 10:51:02
Bielsa had input into signings (choosing from the list he was given by Orta and within budget constraints) but he certainly didn't have control. I would like to see evidence to the contrary as I never read or heard otherwise anywhere and I read a lot about Leeds.

Orta maybe should have been given a different role then just concentrating on players for the future although his scatter gun approach threw up many poor signings there also.

Dont forget also that these young signings were not cheap either. MJ was almost a million, Meslier 5m, Rutter £30m, Summerville £1.5m, Gyabi £5m. For Championship quality these are not amazing deals and we developed most of then for 3/ 4 seasons to help them reach where we are. For someone who constantly moans about how much Bielsa spent, these signings contributed to that spend as did the ones we have let go.

06 Mar 2024 11:24:17
Well said Alf ???.

06 Mar 2024 13:21:30
Baz To answer your previous query, Welching Oracle Rent Free.

06 Mar 2024 13:39:13
OP Good post from you as such but the one or two players struggling for form due to the fixture pile up is precisely why I recommended rotation for those players. Jimmy and Kammy main suspects for a bit of R and R. Or do you think having someone autograph one of your legs with studs running down them is just something you can run off? I'd rather have Jimmy adding to his g/ a consistently in the last 8 games if it means his involvement in the next 2 is from the bench 2nd half. Teams scrapping for their Championship status will foul, be physical and don't care about our best talent and promotion aspirations. Suggest allow Jimmy to heal and Kammy one last short break. Simples. ???.

06 Mar 2024 13:42:22
Ok George yep.

06 Mar 2024 13:47:50
Alf of course orta had a say in it, the days when one manager brought a player are long gone, but ultimately it was down to Belisa what type of player orta found and of the shortlists Belisa picked his players

George I don’t understand you post to be honest.

As mentioned to baz I’d be happy to meet you both to discuss our differences.

Personally I find personal insults by keyboard worries the lowest of the low. then to not meet In person an affront to your own dignity

How baz can have any shred of self respect, self importance or self decency is beyound me. I’m quite shocked the Ed’s allow this constant personal abuse

This is not in any way a threat as baz is an old man however it is calling himself out to have higher standards… I expect better of leeds fans… even if they do support Ipswich.

06 Mar 2024 14:58:12
Berm May I again remind thee of your welching on a bet you had with this forum some 4 or so years ago. Teaching any of us etiquette or ethics a tad hypocritical on your part in light of your rare I mean rear refusal.

06 Mar 2024 15:07:07
Bermo Zzzzzz.

06 Mar 2024 15:22:15
I flippant tounge in cheek joke…. Really going to keep that up?

As for the personal abuse yet the lack of willingness to discuss in person shows lack of class and Yorkshire girt from
Both of you… I expect better

We don’t make em like that in millwall.

06 Mar 2024 16:32:18
Once again this once enjoyable site is decending into insults.
Said it before I wonder why some of the great posters are no longer on this platform.
Good job the football has been enjoyable to watch this season because there is no longer much joy in posting on this site anymore.

06 Mar 2024 17:25:25
Agree Mez it is so boring and repetitive.

06 Mar 2024 16:28:05
This site is going back to personal insults again, no need, we are all adults.

Nobody’s opinion is wrong, it can’t be, but it can differ to others, people (and you know who you are) need to accept that and voice opinion instead of blasting others options.

Going further up the thread, Bielsa, imo had far more influence and control than many may believe. I was told by a Leeds legend who is very close to the club who said that AR, VO and AK were all scared witless of MB and they basically did what ever he said so not to upset him! I don’t know for fact, but that’s what I was told, so I believe he made decisions on all transfers, Orta just went along with it.

On another part of the thread, not sure what Baz’s issues are with OP and Bermo, but both input interesting and valid posts, but to constantly pull out when people’s predictions are not correct when yourself fiercely predicted a mid table, then revised 6th finishing position for Leeds, which is proving to be inaccurate is a bit rich.

06 Mar 2024 18:13:35
No issues MG, Mezzer . I am completely chilled as ever

This latest silliness started by Bermo constantly posting erroneously referring to me as an Ipswich fan and also to an Ipswich player

just because I was 100% correct in stating that Ipswich had not " gone " from top 2 race .

I shrugged it off but perfectly reasonable to point out Bermas errors on this. I am Leeds United through and through

That's all

P. S MG and Mezzer if someone referred to you as a Man U Supporter etc would you just accept it? ?.

06 Mar 2024 19:23:54
I think Bermo is offering out Baz and George?
Same time or separately I wonder?
Should be interesting. Wannabe south London gangster up against Hinge and Bracket ?.

06 Mar 2024 21:35:48
Bermo is a lovely bloke and his motivations nothing other than to have a pint and a chinwag. Would be happy to join George, Baz and Bermo for a pint sometime.

06 Mar 2024 21:36:37
Lmao Corky lurve it ??. now THAT IS LOL FUNNY ??
Post of season and poster of season . you got my vote fella!

06 Mar 2024 22:28:48
Cork You be the referee.

06 Mar 2024 23:15:31
Cheers alf! Same to you mate too fella.

06 Mar 2024 23:27:19
Alf I am moved by your gentlemanly post. I would like to meet sometime. I'd also like to meet up with Baz, CC and Class. Not sure it would be a good idea for me to meet the Black Sea poster though.

07 Mar 2024 07:32:25
Contrary to your opinionsGeorge, me old duffer, I’d buy you a pint, and chat.
I’m not into scrapping with people I’ve never met, unless I was ordered to do so.

{Ed001's Note - this all seems to be getting out of hand. I wouldn't have posted up Berm's message if I felt that he was referring to violence to sort it out. I have had my disagreements with him but he has never come across as a knobber looking to solve disputes like that. He has always come across as a decent bloke with a good sense of humour. Though sadly lacking MadMick's sartorial elegance, but no one's perfect.

Most of these arguments are simply because it is text and no one can see facial expressions or body language. How many times have you wound someone up messing around and given them a nudge or winked to show you are just joking? That is missing when you are on here and so it seems more serious than often people mean it to be. I don't know what the answer is but I think you all need to just take a breath sometimes and stop assuming things are meant to offend or annoy you in a nasty way and instead assume it is just friendly joshing. I know I do at times too. It is so easy to log in after a bad day or an argument with the missus and see everything in the wrong light because of it.}

07 Mar 2024 08:31:07
No Ed baz is 112 years old I was certainly not threatening him! I do however think his constant calling me a wall fan and personal insluts have to stop. I do not find baz comments funny in the slightest and a lack of apology at any point to myself or anyone on
This group seem to confirm that? Is an apology coming or is he going to be banned?

While I am not threatening him I can say no one would talk to me like that in a pub. I go to wall games and everyone knows I’m die hard leeds and I don’t get spoken to like that.

I did see my post laughing at corks reply saying two old farts fighting me as a wannabe gangster who sings and dances and acts for a living would make good comedy viewing!

07 Mar 2024 11:57:11
I think if it were simple as that George then all will be good. Opposition players doubling up on Jimmy gives opportunities else where such as James or Gnonto to wreak havoc. Resting our best players makes no sense in my opinion.
I can see Kamara and Rutter also are feeling the effects of pressure and being hacked down consistently by our opponents takes it’s toll.
The only answer to this is be stronger both mentally and physically, that will be Farkes job to convince his players to give everything they’ve got, and more.

Getting promoted from the Championship takes a massive effort and I trust in Farke having been there before to install that belief into our team to get the job done.

07 Mar 2024 18:50:38
Baz You're a very lucky man with all those live in females! ?.

07 Mar 2024 18:55:43
OP Only if Jimmy can get a pass off in time. I still advocate a small measure of rest. He's a human being, not a machine. I'd Farking love to meet Jimmy. For the game tomorrow, I'd actually be tempted to shove Amps into midfield for Kammy and ask Cooper to fill his void at the back. Our midfield requires a reenergize. Roberts must retain RB berth. Bring Archie on second half to overrun them.

07 Mar 2024 19:51:56
I agree with most George but don’t play cooper

He is our worst defender and always costs us a goal! Cresswell was great least year and should play over cooper.
