Rumour has it as stated below. Farke wanted Hamer or Lubi. AO was the cheaper version way down the list.
Nothing against AO at all.

We are top of the league so no need to spend money unless a bargain comes up. We must be doing something right already. Earnt more from players than anybody else and looking for bargains. Just waiting on the arrival of the 4 Horseman now.
I believe we were top/ top-ish as the transfer window arrived last winter.
I believe the statements coming out of Elland Rd were with regards to our squad being good enough.
I believe the teams around us did feel their squads needed improving.
I believe they went up and we didn't!

At the end of the day it all depends on who is available, are they better than what we have already and at what price.
The January transfer market has dwindled enormously since PSR, prices are inflated and more times than often you can’t get the player you want until the end of the season.
The odds are stacked against purchasing in January and what is possibly available is a player that is badly out of form or just no good.

Schmidt was very impressive. Solomon more so. Subbed again instead of gnonto. Hope that was to prevent injury and nothing else.

All in all a good win. I watched the full match replay on Optus sports. The programme timer said it lasted just over 3 hrs so I thought extra time and penalties. Fully expected an equaliser right up to whistle.

Gratifying to see a LUFC keeper do the basics well.
Darlow caught more, blocked more and saved more in 1 game than Mes has done in many.
The team and defence also looked far more relaxed and confident for it.

It is commendable we are top and our points tally so far. We have played some good football. Some will see that as a sign of promotion. All good.
It is a fact that during that period we have dropped many points due to mis game management and individual errors. Some will focus on that as a sign of what's to come.
We are what we are.
I'm sure we all want promotion.
We will not know until the end of the season if some just worried unnecessarily or some did not see the signs.
I'm pretty sure come achieving promotion all those positive thinkers will storm this site claiming victory as if it's not what we all want.
There are worriers in this world and those that prefer to see the positives.
One thing for sure. If we don't go up I can guarantee you I won't be celebrating seeing the signs. I will be as miserable as hell.
We will continue to disagree and every time someone posts their opinion on previously discussed subject I will keep playing the same record.
In general the behaviour has improved over the last week and I have enjoyed the site more. I have censored myself as much as I can proudly re reading an intended post and choosing to delete it.

That’s what this forum is about, differing opinions, I don’t think anyone is trying to change someone else’s opinion and so long the banter doesn’t cross the line, all’s good on here in my opinion. If someone wants to gloat over whether we are promoted or not, I honestly couldn’t give a stuff.

Too easy to put people in stereotypical boxes and constructive balanced criticism should be encouraged where appropriate, as one thing we can all agree on is being a committed Leeds United supporter can be challenging even in the better times.
I like OP’s phrase from the other day when discussing Mesellier, well Farke has nailed his colours to his mast in stating he’s backing Illan going forwards.
And of course I hope he’s right and hope Illan proves every doubter (including myself) totally wrong.
I certainly won’t be saying ‘told you so’ if it goes very wrong.
It’s just a very “Leedsy” thing to not improve our goalkeepers.
{Ed001's Note - I used to work with a guy who used to say he was not so much a committed fan, as a fan who should have been committed for choosing to support his team. He was a Leeds fan. It was difficult to argue with him to be fair.}

Good thread! All that matters this year is promotion and that’s the same for the board, Manager, players and fans. I can’t believe that any of the above don’t want that to happen! The proof will be in the celebrating!
After that, and I can remember posting the very same before Bielsa took us up, the situation should be reviewed! Who takes you up out of the championship isn’t always the best to keep you in the prem which will be the next job. Too often people get over promoted when they would have been better staying in a previous job family.
That doesn’t mean you don’t stick with Farke but you look again and make a conscious decision to stick or twist and as early as possible!
But a long way to go before that!

Everybody is allowed to change their minds on original prediction. I thought we would romp this league with the quality of our squad. But things change. We haven’t got rid of last season habit of dropping unnecessary points or as some call it ( a bad day at the office ? ) . We have a fair few of them. We have in my opinion a couple of other respond to be cautious too. We are too I get it. Just not as confident as I was when the fantastic summer additions were made. Not sure how long Piroe out for but to just have Matt’s up front for a month is iffy.
