Rumour has it as stated below. Farke wanted Hamer or Lubi. AO was the cheaper version way down the list.
Nothing against AO at all.

We been the better team in every game.
Brom and burnley poss banana skins but they were poor and we were better. 15 points should be in the bank. But they aren't. Only 8 are.
Some might be happy with that and feel it's a reasonable start. I'm not.
Changes need to be made. Rodon drop. Amps in defense. Ao starts. Bogle drop for byram.
Better subs and timing needed. But it won't happen.

Don't want Amps at CB, he's too good in midfield. Byram should be nowhere near starting 11.
Playing two DMs at hone just doesn't work, for me. We should be more attacking in those games and I think we should be the same against Cardiff. Bring Ao in for Gruev.
Gnonto LW, Aaronson AM, Largie RW. Not too big a fan of Solomon. He's too happy to receive and then pass it back or laterally rather than beating a man or forcing a one on one situation.

Gruev is fast and aggressive dill. If you want Ao on the pitch, swap him in for Bogle. Our defense hasn't been as solid while amps has been in mid.
Gnonto hasn't earned a start over ramazani or Solomon. Use them as the wingers.
If Farke is saying "play aggressively" none of the players will push forward.

Baz, I’m pretty sure last season you complained that there were no goals in our team, barring Cree and DJ, none from defence, and “none from MF” (tho where Cree and DJ played if not MF I dunno) . And wrong striker selection too? Now scoring goals last season wasn’t an issue?
We have suffered from not scoring from chances created since Bielsa times; we create opportunities but don’t take them. That’s on the individuals, and it’s still clearly something to be worked on, whether physically in training, or mentally in the other facilities.

I think Rodon needs Amps. Not that Rodon can't stand on his own, he can, but I think he struggles with Bogle not covering the areas that Amps did.
Our defense was much, much better last season. Why change it when we have so many decent MFs to choose from?
Gruev and Rothwell in midfield is a solid duo. Rothwell needs more play time.

A lot of logic and sense in that MoT. Maybe Schmidt rather than Bogle can cover that? I can’t see Pasc getting dropped? My concern is that we are geared up with two very capable attack minded wing backs now, and perhaps Archie also provided more cover for Rodon? Archie’s forward forays we’re certainly more limited. Whatever DF opts to do, it’s going to require dropping some big, and capable players!

They defended admirably which is more than we can do. Apart from that they were pretty poor.
It is not acceptable to lose at home.

Wouldn't say outmanaged. They capitalised on a mistake and then parked the bus. Any manager in the world can do that once they have a lead. It was missed chances, a blatant pen not given and then some disastrous subs by Farke that cost us. Onus on Farke more than anything Parker did. Don't think they even bothered to attack in the second half. Just content sitting deep. Not really anything tactically masterful about that, mate. Whereas Farke had the opportunity to make some impactful subs and he fluffed it yet again. He's disastrous at crucial in-game management. Rarely if ever does he make the right sub at the right time. Generally wrong player or wrong time or both.

Like dill said, wrong subs, wrong time. Swapping Solomon for ramazani and Piroe for Arronson/ Rothwell was beyond stupid when Gnonto and Bogle did little to impact the game.
Passing the ball down the Somerville wing over and over and over while Gruev is in tons of space screaming for the ball is stupid beyond belief.
Gruev, arranson and Solomon have quick feet and can cut through the defense. But let's take two of them off and not change formation.
Farke has had his time. A win here and there doesn't recover his disastrous record. It's time to go.

Fwiw, MoT, we only had 8 first team sqhad players training together from what Farke said in the presser. If you wanted that then what you're saying is Rodon, Firpo, Ampadu, Gruev, Gnonto Solomon, Aaronson and Joseph wouldn't have started. They were all away this international break.
Baz, Firpo has been one of our better players this season and last. You may not like to hear that, but it's true. So lumping him in wjth Mes and Bogle is a bit ridiculous tbh.

Bit of a tricky one this as burnley romped off and last 2 games have faltered. We really the opposite. Although we haven't in my opinion played a decent team yet.
So a potential banana skin on Saturday. Shouldn't be. We should win.
As long as we improve week to week I think we will be out in front soon enough. The new additions have proven wise so far. They should get better over the next few weeks/ months. I'm going 2-1.

Piroe has proven to be a solid goal scorer if you pass him the ball when he's in the box. If he has to run for it or make plays, he's crap.
We've changed our play style since last season and the new signings look like players who will get the ball in the box.
I'm a massive MJ fan and a Piroe doubter but I can see him scoring his fair share this season.

MJ is the main man now, and no matter what has been talked about or drilled in training, he will be able to slot straight back in. Just for this first game back I would start Piroe, he's had more training chances than MJ. It isn't a knock to the lad, just a tactical decision.
I've always praised JPs ability to knock them in, I've never believed he fit in with our play style or has the work ethic of Bamford (and now Joseph) .
Our play style has changed to suit Piroe's style by default of putting arranson in 10 and bringing in the wingers.
We've lost the one-man-bands of Summerville and Rutter, for better or worse, and now the tactic seems to be "feed balls into the box where a striker will be stood".

Don't agree at all. MJ is match fit and he's been training while away. Already knows our tactics. He's not going to just forget them overnight when they've been drilling them all summer. And it's not like he's been away and is unfit. There's zero reason to drop him.
But that's not tactical changes, that's just personnel changes. We're playing very similar if not the same tactics as last season, barring Gnonto being freed up a bit. Tactically we are pressing better and more consistently, which Piroe can't do because he's about as athletic as Lizzo.
Build up phases have been the same and as long as we play a lone CF, then Piroe will not work in that system - unless the game is stretched and allows him space to operate inside the lines and box crashing. Which tends to be when we're already winning. He had 33 starts in the league last season and realistically he played well in one solitary game out of those starts.
MJ needs to start.

We're playing different to last season because we have more than one player to feed the ball to.
We've got attacking threats across the front line, a midfield that's pushing forward, a ten that, as much as I loved Rutter, isn't coasting on a guaranteed space.
We've got four new signings, plus Bogle and Rothwell. Each one brings a different dynamic to the team. Solomon showed he's a fast winger but never once went for glory, instead he went for crosses in the box. That helps MJ, Bamford and Piroe more than Somerville and Rutter could hope to do.
Piroe is a statue, but in the box he converts, we have a team that, potentially, will play long balls, crosses and forward play from all angles.
That versatility is something we could have only dreamed of last season, and worse, something that was sorely lacking at the end of the season.
If we have six to eight players hungry to get a starting 11, when we have to rest or change things up, we have the option to.
Lastly, starting Piroe isn't a snub to Joseph and may just give Piroe the confidence and reassurance he needs to start knocking them in. If, a big if, Piroe, MJ and Bamford are on form, we're looking at a bloody lot of goals.
