Too many just a little off the boil last night. The way Hull were playing I was mentally settling for a draw. They all need a day off (in a darkened room) and hopefully come back with recharged batteries. Would a few minutes for Charlie Crew be an idea for Sat? It seems the area we are most missing is a DM.

Admittedly our passing was below par last night but you shouldn’t underestimate Hull, they are a very good team in possession and they only lack a good striker from being up their with us Leicester and Lucky Ipswich.

Although the fans can lift the players at Elland rd, they can also emit their nervousness to the players which I felt was part of the problem, you could see even at 1-0 up they made our defense a little shaky, they found spaces and opened us up on several of their attacks, Hull scoring a goal looked very possible.
Our midfield without Gruev looked very timid.

Let’s hope that victory was a big shot in the arm for confidence to the players for the visit to Cov on the weekend.
Steady as she goes.

OP And do you know what caused the fan nervousness? Try Bamboo failure to sort his legs out (yet again) to score and put us 2 up. Not starting MJ on Saturday is unacceptable and an act of lunacy.

George I do like Joseph and he does inject a lot of energy into our attack, but one thing he will lack through no fault of his own will be experience.
Bamford for all his misses does add experience, these next six games is going to be nerve wracking for the teams fighting for promotion, I’d still start with Bamford for this run in, but if he hasn’t contributed by 60 mins then Joseph should replace him then rather than the last 5 or 10 mins.

02 Apr 2024 14:45:29
IMO, 60 is now too long to wait
After 30-35 mins if he ain't in the cup final, pull him off as was case last night, he was woeful ( again )

We simply cannot afford another pair of games from him like last 2, there's just too much at stake now

Paddy has morphed into another Liam, where some feel he bleeds Leeds, and others who now feel nuffs nuff with him .

02 Apr 2024 15:09:16
OP the ' experience ' of Bamford is that he does NOT play well under pressure

NOW with just 6 vital matches remaining and in front of packed tense crowds the PRESSURE is really on!

Farke unwisely probably won't do it BUT it's really time for MJ to start over PB because

1) MJ will inject much needed urgency into our attacks from the first minute

2) MJ is clearly very confident in his ability. and very hungry and motivated to score goals and does so

And
3) PB does NOT play well under pressure and has started past 2 matches slow lacking in energy.

02 Apr 2024 15:54:02
OP Did Joseph have experience when he knocked in a brace against Chelsea away from home?

One only gets experience by playing. What's needed is goals. Strikers don't miss due to inexperience. They miss due to an integral lack of quality and pressure.

Experience is a word I'd apply in defence for sure but not in attack.

Disregarding MJ's menacing presence among central defenders, his threat of getting in behind and his superior radar when goals secures promotion seems hugely backwards.

02 Apr 2024 15:58:38
Did Bambi touch the ball? Oh yes. I remember now. Never ever again in a Leeds shirt. Waste of wages.

02 Apr 2024 16:22:07
Joseph missed a sitter last night. Just saying.

02 Apr 2024 16:44:03
Cork It wasn't a gimme and at least he hit the post as opposed to Bamboo discombobulated air hybrid slice shot with his stronger left foot.

02 Apr 2024 16:48:26
He hit post Cork as opposed to ballooning ball over bar.

02 Apr 2024 16:48:53
. not even bar.20 feet off target.

02 Apr 2024 17:20:44
Georgey bro tis true we do think a ? like . not always but most often ?.

02 Apr 2024 18:00:55
A game v Chelsea with nothing to lose very different to a high pressure game with everything to lose. A miss is still a miss.

02 Apr 2024 18:16:35
Look, Joseph maybe a sensation if Farke starts with him and score a hat full of goals, but if he doesn’t and misses opportunities that could put us out of the auto contention then what will the fans say?
At least he tried? No, the knives will be out to slaughter him. For me it’s too much to put on this young lad’s shoulders, too risky and I don’t think Farke will do it.
I’m definitely not a fan of Bamford, he does miss too many chances but there’s no guarantees that Joseph will score goals if he starts. The consequences for him could be very hard if he was put in that position.

02 Apr 2024 18:25:41
MJ wants to prove himself before the Euro’s start, he is so excited and wants to play, you can feel the whole place lift when he came on last night, it is vital he starts so come on DF do the right thing, you know it makes sense! ?.

02 Apr 2024 18:37:58
Brother Baz I agree with your sentiment. Our joint agreement on matters certainly over 90%.

02 Apr 2024 19:12:37
OP My knife won't be out for Joseph. Don't think any Leeds fans cutlery will appear because of the reason of his youth. We are just grateful to own such a talented 20 year old. However, the proverbial knives will appear for Paddy. I sense there's something else going on as to why Paddy gets the nod.

02 Apr 2024 19:51:24
Alfie Cuppa hitting a post gives one the feeling that a player is likely to score more often thsn he misses.

Whereas ballooning a shot into orbit far less so.

Furthermore the body language of MJ is currently far more confident, enthusiastic, exuberant and postiive than PB

MJ motivation is to score goals : lots of them!

02 Apr 2024 21:31:08
It’s a big difference starting a game than coming on when the opposition are tiring.
And to be fair we have no idea whatsoever how talented he is. Remember Lyndon Simmons?
Time will tell if he’s the real deal? But unfortunately it’s most likely he’s not a top striker. Here’s hoping he is though.

02 Apr 2024 22:42:39
Just throw him in there. You get quality experience by playing in these kinda situations, not 5 minute run ons at the end of games. I firmly believe that giving him a start will be a booster for a young confident lad like MJ. Deserves a chance now while PB isn't performing.

03 Apr 2024 07:12:40
And what sinister goings on would be afoot to ensure PB was getting the nod to start George? What conspiracy theory might that be?

03 Apr 2024 11:41:35
He’s got some mucky pictures of Farke doing a lewd act. Holding him to ransom no doubt.

03 Apr 2024 12:42:59
Something to do with group loyalties based on age, seniority etc nothing especially sinister. The last embers hopefully of "Sentiment FC". Just play Joseph.
