Bowyer was one of my favourite players of that era. Pity there's there's no one out there of his class. All sorts of memories particularly his very late goal in the European championship. One of the best nights at Elland Road for me.

As a regular first team player not a good deal really.
Prob the deciding factor was him being interested in the deal as we had said we didn’t want to sell him. However I did read that if he were to go we would then buy another midfielder to cover him. So the midfielder purchased will have to of the quality to start. Despite buying Rothwell already.

George - rehashing some bits I've wrote about him on here before:
I think Kamara is a quality operator. He's a metronome, in that passes mostly go to him to get somewhere else (to the danger men) and he plays a bit further up the pitch than the likes of Gruev and Amps. Good press resistance too as he can play both ways, back to goal or pitch in front of him. But he can also disrupt play defensively. Kamara is good for shifting through the phases of play. Improvements he needs to make would be his box crashing ability and his confidence in shooting from the edge of the box. Looks for the pass instead of taking better advantage of the position he's in. His passing stats in the final third are very good and will be missed if we don't replace him with someone who can regularly link play in that area. I replied to Clu's post with the stats already in the rumours section.
Farke also losing some of the experience he says he supposedly missed last season. Seems a bit backwards does that. And reportedly for only £7.7m once 10% goes to Rangers for the SoC.
I would've kept him.

He was a very astute, and capable signing, and imo did a great job for us last season. I agree Ani, that there is more to it than simply letting him go at the first offer. Crew? Another incoming? We shall see.

If GK is leaving was because he wanted to then that's fair enough. Also won't be a poor decision if we bring someone in who can replicate the progression in the final two thirds, but also add being a goal threat/ box crashing ability and thinking about it, ability to play at a higher tempo and some risk taking around the box to unlock low blocks. Too much to ask?

Need plenty of different profiles to make a team work. He had a job that he did for us well, which was building the play. We bought him knowing what he brought to the table, and that wasn't his goalscoring prowess. He was utilised for something different. If he was an AM/ 10 then yeah, him not getting goals would be a big issue. He's not so it's less of an issue, I think. Having said that a few goals would've been nice when he did have the chances.
