Well siblings, I was fortunate enough to be at work today to miss that atrocity, but, we have a second chance. Now if you lie down in front of a steamroller you will be the squishee, but if you get up, chuck the driver out and take control you will be the squisher. All it takes is one spark to light a fire. We have to believe our boys regroup and grasp the nettle, we kn9w how good we can be, its all about attitude. Don't be tarmac people, don't abandon hope because without it we are lost and it is pointless. We are Leeds are we not? Take the hard road, don't knee jerk. It's my birthday next Sunday and I fully expect Leeds to deliver šŸ˜.

Firpo walked round the pitch on his own after the final whistle. I'm not surprised after that 2nd Southampton goal. Shocking complacency.

Adios Firpo.

Being optimistic is one thing, and yes, we still have a chance of gaining promotion however, a dose of harsh reality is needed;

Firstly, our good form of a couple of months ago has totally deserted us. Can't see us winning at Wembley playing the way we are.

And secondly, if we were to go up, could this squad survive? How much strengthening would we have to do, and could we afford it?

Heart wants us to gain promotion (heart wants us to win every game:) but head says we would be better off staying where we are for another season - I know that will cost financially and that several players will go but I would ask everyone to consider (again) where we were 12 months ago. at least this time our owners aren't going anywhere and we have a manager in place. In other words, we can make plans and implement them very shortly rather than waiting until mid-August before anything happens.

It may end up being a bitter pill to swallow but it might be worth it in the long run!

it's the old question Cleggy. Would you rather miss promotion, stay in the champs and watch a winning team most weeks, battling for promotion OR go up and watch a losing team going nowhere except down?
In essence a yoyo team at best.

Personally I would not mind missing out (I would be ecstatic to go up) and now that DF has had chance to evaluate the team, buy well with a longterm view of going up and staying up. This time buying wisely and not being sidetracked with all the s**t going on last summer.

I feel more deflated today, compared to last seasons relegation.
From the high of beating Leicester and the stadium rocking, to the lows of Sunderland through to today and a very toxic, nervy atmosphere
We're the team everyone wants to beat, well its time the players dig deep and find their form, we have 3 cup finals to win.

Fair post Leodisā€¦Iā€™m not fussed either way to be honest. On balance, I prefer winning (more) games more than watching us struggle. Weā€™re struggling now and itā€™s sad to see. To be honest, Iā€™m looking forward to the playoffs because, regardless, they are a spectacle to be part of, rather than in any expectation of success.

It would be nice to win at Wembley I suppose.

Iā€™m satisfied with the season; by and large it has been enjoyable v what the last two have been like.

What I donā€™t like, is the impending ā€œreset and start againā€ that will follow if we donā€™t make it.

Itā€™s strange emotions for me. Like last seasonā€™s relegation, today there was no real expectation of a positive outcome, since on both occasions it had largely been settled in the penultimate game. I was more disappointed in the game and result, rather than what it meant. The crowd never really got goingā€¦nor did the team.

I was far more devastated with Bielsaā€™s first season failure.

Poor finish to the league programme. Lots of possession but no threat or ideas going forward and clueless at attacking set pieces. Open at the back and vulnerable at set pieces. Most teams will do us some damage at the moment. On this form, we won't get past Norwich even though we've done the double over them this season.

04 May 2024 16:56:27
Yea we just looked clueless today and have no ideas on how to break down a team. At the other end, Southampton were cutting through us way to easy. I was hoping we didn't get Norwich, as getting Derby deja vu vibes so hoping that doesn't happen again. If by some miracle we regain our old form and make it past Norwich, we'll meet a team in the final that we haven't beat this season šŸ¤¦ā€ā™‚ļø. Hopefully that works in our favour šŸ¤ž.

If we don't get promotion We will lose Summerville, Gnonto, Rodon, Ampadou, Meslier, Gray. We will keep James because no premier club would want him. Gruev might stay as will Kamara. Bamford won't go anywhere. Who knows about the rest.

I told you about D Farke all season and nobody, but Baz and George agreed with what I was saying about the TWO DEFENSIVE MIDFIELDERS. You all put him on top of Mount Rushmore before half the season was played.

One thing I am confident about is that we cannot play any worse going into the playoffs. SAME OLD SCARED FOOTBAL!

AGAIN, somehow, we will get a bit of luck and get over the line. that's the only thing that can help us.

šŸŖ Don't object per se to 2 6s. It's not my preference for style of play but I acknowledge it's Farke prerogative to play how he sees fit. However, this acknowledgement of mine is qualified. It only goes so far. When other sides adapt and nullify where our traffic is, it's time to counter, change. Otherwise known as Plan B. Clear to me Farke doesn't have one. This is demonstrable by his lack of set piece goals, lack of rotation and zero goals from midfield in a 46 game season. Think about that! It's basically Summerville or Rutter or nothing! Some might say he hasn't the personnel to change it up but I beg to differ. Joffy for Rutter. Joffy has a good goal radar and can be twinkle toes running toward goal. Cressy man mountain who can score from corners allowing Amps to move into midfield. Gray can be a number 8. Joseph, Joseph, Joseph! Anthony should get more minutes. It's about winning football matches, it's not about nepotism, unnecessary repetition of what doesn't work at this stage of the season and sideways handbrake football.

Very disappointed with the level of performance
Lack of movement with the ball and ball watching without the ball .
So much ball watching, the first goal was school boy stuff, everyone ball watching and
Junior Firpos defending for the second goal was absolutely unforgivable.

Abysmal performance. Complete lack of leadership and passion. So many reluctant to even shoot at goal. Pass the buck always. This system of constantly playing with two holding midfielders is ridiculous. They very rarely play a forward pass. The opposition finding it easy to play against us. Double up on Summerville and thatā€™s the attacking threat snuffed out. Keeper poor again, and thatā€™s an understatement.
