Looks like the fee for Rutter was 25 million and the 10 million add ons were not met. No sell on clause either apparently?
1.) 20 Aug 2024 11:25:43
Do we still have to pay Hoffenheim their cut? Because if we do, we've just been taken to the cleaners to lose our best player.
2.) 20 Aug 2024 12:28:52
Seem to remember when first reported the fee was only £23.5m plus the add ons. Reports say we owe £4.2m still for some of the adds ons that weren't met.
If that's the case we paid somewhere around £27.7m best case or £29.2m if the initial fee was £25m.
3.) 20 Aug 2024 12:31:19
I should have said the fee Leeds paid was 25 mill!
No sell on clause which is great. Nice profit on the player.
4.) 20 Aug 2024 14:45:33
Indeed cork. More dosh in their pockets.
5.) 20 Aug 2024 15:26:23
That's good news then. Pocketed enough profit to buy a player or two outright.
Leeds should scout the academies and pick up an up and coming bargain.
6.) 20 Aug 2024 16:38:29
probably scout our own academy and pick up a freebie there.
01 Jul 2024 12:31:14
Rodon coming back to Leeds!
You hear me Baz?
1.) 01 Jul 2024 13:06:03
Well IF so . Good news for Leeds . Happy to have got this one not quite correct ?.
2.) 01 Jul 2024 13:09:24
I'm hearing the same Corky.
3.) 01 Jul 2024 14:12:00
Fine details eh Baz, he either signs or he doesn’t, so you have a one in two chance of being right or wrong, you got it wrong, but in your eyes ? “Happy to not get this one not quite correct” what a balloon ? ?.
4.) 01 Jul 2024 14:37:03
Woody yes not quite correct lol ?.
08 Aug 2023 22:15:33
Have a feeling a new signing will be announced tomorrow and probably two.
Who wants a BABYSHAM!
08 Feb 2023 12:40:25
The money is coming for Nuno Espírito Santo.
Backed in to 5s from 20s.
1.) 08 Feb 2023 12:48:14
Ha as predicted by Sir Nostra Baz.
2.) 08 Feb 2023 13:16:49
Hope not. Prefer Spanish, Dutch and Argie first.
3.) 08 Feb 2023 14:13:29
Aus I would prefer the Spanish, Dutch and Argie first too
My prediction isn't based on my preferred choice but on the most realistic choice under this mediocre regime
Nuno is still more preferable than several others such as the Hassanthul and Gerrard.
4.) 08 Feb 2023 17:06:58
So, basically, if you put twenty quid on at 5/ 1, you lose twenty quid, right? ??.
5.) 08 Feb 2023 17:08:01
I’ve read more about Iraola now and tbh I don’t think he’s the type of coach we need. He’s similar to Bielsa in the way he likes to create a chaotic style to catch teams out. High intensity and high risk press. Personally I want us to move away from this style, it’s been sussed out now and teams beat the “traps” way too easily! We need someone to come in and stabilise, make us difficult to break down and let the attacking 4 have more freedom. No RB’s challenging in the attacking area and being caught out of position 15 times a game! Back to basics!
6.) 09 Feb 2023 20:55:22
If you look back I said both poch and Santo been interviewed and nobody seemed to believe me poch has turned us down but Santo is deciding just because papers saying all these others don't believe everything you read.
05 Dec 2022 20:28:37
Apparently Leeds have agreed to pay 10.5 million for the French flop. If true done well to get that deal as I think the court of arbitration said pay the full 21 million.
1.) 06 Dec 2022 03:57:23
If indeed a negotiated settlement is true and at £10.5 million or less
some of which may have allegedly been covered by indemnity/ liability contract insurance
then a much better result.
2.) 06 Dec 2022 13:05:31
So what source is this' apparent £10.5 million rumour ' Jigster?
3.) 08 Dec 2022 09:20:24
Looks like we paying full whack plus interest but on better terms.
4.) 08 Dec 2022 17:54:05
Yeah read those articles Aus today
If true and likely it is
it would mean Bright and Corkster were not correct in their reduced settlement guess
and I was right all along again ? (just jesting fellas )
5.) 09 Dec 2022 07:05:41
How can he play for Basel if we paid for him?
{Ed001's Note - because you gave up his registration a long time ago. You are paying for his original transfer, nothing to do with where he is today.}
6.) 09 Dec 2022 10:32:40
Right. Thanks Ed.
{Ed001's Note - welcome mate.}

Just read down a few pages of posts to catch up what I may have missed from you beautiful people and as usual it's been interesting.
I noted one thing. Baz has the hide of a rhino!
He may be annoying to put it politely but fair play he keeps biting back.
Sometimes, actually often, he gets on my tits but let's be honest if he were to turn it in we'd actually miss the old codger.
1.) 02 Dec 2024 20:52:55
Cheers Corkster. yeah one be getting on a tad .
As for the likely lads on here dem be pussycats for Ole Baz.
2.) 02 Dec 2024 21:09:26
Is he the glue that holds us all together?
3.) 02 Dec 2024 21:54:24
I wouldn’t 100% would make my year.
02 Dec 2024 19:44:52
Did someone mention Harrogate?!
1.) 02 Dec 2024 20:51:38
Harrogate are licking their lips!
2.) 03 Dec 2024 08:09:13
You might be right they probably haven’t eaten for a while.
01 Dec 2024 20:29:05
Question being asked should DF be sacked?
Imo no because I believe he will get us promoted this season.
However, and this will sound tough, I would still move on from him after promotion.
I may be wrong but i don't think he's good enough for the EPL.
I can't think of a worse scenario than Leeds getting promoted and then sacking him at Christmas because we're in the bottom 3 after spending millions.
Football is a tough business and there's no room for sentiment.
So let's get promoted and get in a top coach who can move us forward.
MOT.,
1.) 01 Dec 2024 20:51:53
i agree cork, i still think we will get promoted this season ( need a couple in jan) , but i’d be tempted to look at other coaches after this season.
2.) 01 Dec 2024 22:02:41
I believe we may have klop waiting in the wings, no doubt if that’s the case we should pull the trigger
However on what grounds is farke not good enough for prem? He gave it a decent go twice with poor team and budget of pennies
Again just for clarification Belisa spent more the year leeds got promoted (45 million) than farke spent both season in prem put together
I don’t understand the farke hate or lack of trust. He is a very good manager however klop is one of the best if not the best in the world.
3.) 01 Dec 2024 23:10:37
Great post Corky and I completely agree with you, Melbourne and Bermo regarding Farke.
As cruel as it sounds for me Farke will get us promoted but I really don’t think he would be strong enough in the Premiership, so as you say let’s get a more savvy leader. Farke is proven in the Championship but definitely not in the Premiership ?.
4.) 02 Dec 2024 00:42:40
Hmmm exactly what I said earlier in posts below Woodster. give Farke the season. but upgrade if promoted.
5.) 02 Dec 2024 01:04:59
This is where I differ. He deserves a crack at the EPL if he achieves promotion notwithstanding the likely outcome that we spend much of the time in the relegation zone.
All I ask is we build a squad which is capable of an immediate return and commence the stadium ?️ expansion.
Imo you always should do what's right and that is to give him a chance assuming we get there.
6.) 02 Dec 2024 05:34:31
No he dosent Porgie. If we go up. If. Get rid of him as we will most likely come straight back down. All conjecture really as the first bit isn’t guaranteed and currently, likely either.
7.) 02 Dec 2024 06:04:32
We don’t know farke ain’t good enough for the prem he has never been given a chance in the prem
Again for comparison compare what farke spent to Belisa… this is not a Belisa is useless rant (although he was) this is saying most of you rate Belisa but look at his spend, most of you doubt farke at prem level… look at his spend
It’s an illogical arguement.
8.) 02 Dec 2024 06:33:08
Daniel Farke has been relegated from the PL twice with Norwich but as Berm pointed out, with limited funding, not like some teams like Ipswich and Southampton who spent over 100Mil on new players and are still rooted to the bottom of the league table.
If we get back to the PL this season Farke will be funded well as we have ourselves within the PSR rules unlike cheating Leicester.
If promoted 100% he deserves the opportunity to prove himself and I for one believe he’s got a good chance of initially keeping his head above water and then building a sustainable future for our club in the Premiership.
As far as I know infrastructure building to stadiums are not accountable with the current PSR rules and I would expect building contractors entering Elland rd for redevelopment in the very near future.
On a side note I just don’t get all the negativity right now, we’re three points from top spot and it’s not even half way through the season, blowing away the league like cheating Leicester did this time last season is not the norm, it was because they broke the rules that they had a much stronger team than any other in the league. In my estimation there will be 3 to 4 teams fighting for those automatic promotion places come the end of this season as the Championship always proves to be unpredictable and a highly competitive league, every season.
9.) 02 Dec 2024 08:24:57
Another topic that I see both sides of. I agree with Berm and George that he ain’t had a fair crack o the whip at the EPL. But my gut feel is that a fresh pair of eyes, with previous success in that division, would be a breath of fresh air for the club, the fans, the squad, and the city.
It’s also very pertinent that this squad would not keep us up, and would require massive investment in the spine of the team.
10.) 02 Dec 2024 10:34:29
If Leeds were to go up . Ampadu, Tanaka good enough in EPL . anyone else?
11.) 02 Dec 2024 11:29:58
Baz Rodon, Struick, Wober, DJ and possibly Gnonto. However, all of those would be regarded as bottom 6 class in the EPL. We'd need to buy 8 EPL standard players to avert relegation imo.
12.) 02 Dec 2024 11:40:00
Rodon, Struick, DJ yes Geurgey. not sure about Wober nor Gnonto
.
13.) 02 Dec 2024 12:49:42
Rodon struck wober gnonto Mez. Roble. Roy. Mats. Pirie
James largie gman on bench.
Big big rebuilt.
More excuses for why he failed and failed again bermo.
Like Leeds are the only team that have to rebuild.
14.) 02 Dec 2024 14:17:25
I like Dan James but if promoted he has to prove himself worthy of the Premiership because as of yet he hasn’t with 3 clubs.
Let’s hope that changes.
15.) 02 Dec 2024 19:41:53
I like Pascal but let’s not forget how poor he was the last season and a half in the top flight. In fact he was atrocious. I must admit he’s been sublime these last eighteen months though.
Gnonto can play at that level as he showed before. Rodon capable. Tanaka looks a player. Amps capable. Ramazani has the potential. After these I’m struggling to name more?
16.) 02 Dec 2024 21:00:08
Fair comment Cork.
18 Nov 2024 21:38:47
Don Revie.
Those who believe he underachieved at Leeds United think again.
He took over as manager in 61 when Leeds were in the bottom 3 of the old second division.
Within two years got us promoted and straight away became a challenger in top flight.
Went on to win 2 league titles, two European trophies, an FA cup and a league cup. Runners up in the league 5 times, twice on goal difference!
In today's game his achievements would be like Bristol City doing a similar thing!
OK we should have won much more at the time but we are Leeds and that's the way it is.
1.) 18 Nov 2024 23:04:14
Spot on Cork.
2.) 18 Nov 2024 23:08:27
Well said Corkster but you omit key details
namely Leeds United being denied by corrupt refs in 2 Euro finals for starters
The 1975 European Cuo final travesty of justice is well documented. no need to elaborate
But many " younger" Leeds United fans are (also) completely unaware of tne 1973 European Cup Winners Cup travesty of justice
AC Milan " won" 1 nil. due to the appallingly dodgy ref Christos Michas ( in what was to be his final game ever) who was hugely criticised in this match leading to an investigation by UEFA of Michas match fixing and he was found guilty of match fixing and banned for life from refereeing following this match
Added to that Leeds United being screwed by the Leeds hating FA into having to play a League title decider on Monday just 2 days after winning 1972 FA cup
Then also the Tinkler ref abomination decision in Baggies key match etc etc
Sadly a couple/ few " younger' Leeds fans on this forum who totally missed out on this golden Leeds United and The Don Revie era are well, well wide of the mark in their uninformed and or misguided opinions Corky.
3.) 18 Nov 2024 23:16:09
. also tres uber ironic that the very same misguided folk who fail to downplay tne great Don Revies achievements for Leeds United
. are the very same ones who worship and revere 'bottle job Farke" failing with his Champo cheat code squad for Leeds last season
the fact is that Farke has failed so far.
Hopefully Farke can redeem himself a tad this season and actually get Leeds United over the promotion line this time!
4.) 19 Nov 2024 00:07:18
Absolutely spot on - the golden years indeed.
5.) 19 Nov 2024 09:49:15
Tell all of this true information to Lukic lover.
6.) 19 Nov 2024 17:43:32
Some top posts on the Revie era above.
The Leeds United we all love were nothing until the Don took over. He made the name Leeds United mean something!
7.) 19 Nov 2024 18:14:27
Hear hear Cleggy. excellent post.
8.) 19 Nov 2024 22:00:27
The shocking decisions given against this Club, especially in the Revie era, still make me sick to the back teeth. Ray Tinkler, Franz Beckenbauer, Greek Ref, the FA, UEFA, the list goes on and my blood is boiling again!
9.) 19 Nov 2024 22:59:13
Feath Worst offender Ken Burns. Died 8 years ago.
Need a time machine to right his LUFC ?? wrongs.
10.) 19 Nov 2024 23:07:16
Yep LUFCfeath till now 50 plus years later it still rankles deeply . ugh ?
Musg say a veey big Well Done to all "the Revieites" on here
for their excellent posts on this subject. Georgey, 1970, Cleggy, LUFCfeath, Corky, myself, a few other"Revie appreciators" on previous posts here! ?.
11.) 20 Nov 2024 01:42:02
What Baz said. ???.
12.) 20 Nov 2024 13:24:00
Don’t think it worked hale and pace. Think bermo rose above childish chitter.
Good posts others about revie though.
13.) 20 Nov 2024 16:09:44
??????.
14.) 20 Nov 2024 16:17:11
Time me kangaroo down sport. tie me kangaroo down.
15.) 20 Nov 2024 16:57:27
this line says it all: OK we should have won much more at the time but we are Leeds and that's the way it is.
should have won much more at the time = underachiever and bottler.
Case closed.
16.) 20 Nov 2024 18:10:29
Your misguided opinion Alfonzo Cuppa. very, very, very few concur with you though! .
I am a 100% sure if you had actually experienced lived through the Revie era first hand your opinion would be much different!
Shame!
17.) 20 Nov 2024 22:19:51
Alf mate I wasn’t trying to start a debate as such. Revie is a Leeds legend and that’s not even an argument.
My last comment was basically that we as a club never really had much luck. I realize you make your own luck to a certain extent but to lose the league twice on goal difference and one of those on goals scored is a tad unlucky.
As for Revies Leeds bottling it that’s an unfair remark imo. It’s not like Leeds did a Newcastle and threw away a massive lead. More that we were involved in every competition until the latter stages and fatigue took over.
I’m sure Baz will tell ya that after a Saturday cup final Leeds had to play a league decider on the Monday! (Pretty sure those days are correct)
Revie built an incredible team from literally nothing and many players from that time have said they were the best team they ever played against.
I rest my case.
18.) 20 Nov 2024 22:33:27
One last point.
If Revie never took over Leeds there’s a good chance we’d still be a lower division club who never hit the heights of being a top European club. It was before my time but at least we had a decade of being an elite football club.
Don Revie should be hailed and not derided.
19.) 20 Nov 2024 23:35:31
Hear hear Corkster your best posts ever.
20.) 21 Nov 2024 04:19:59
Yes Cork and one extra final point Revie had one of the greatest middle names ever in the world.
21.) 21 Nov 2024 06:33:29
You’ve not seen 50%ish of Corks posts…. he has made many, many great posts through a very long period of time on this site.
22.) 21 Nov 2024 08:50:57
Many many many bright. Is he paying you. Few here and there more like. Although I do agree with Cori’s posts above ?.
23.) 21 Nov 2024 10:40:19
Jack Charlton said after the FA Cup Final against Arsenal that Leeds were the only team unable to properly celebrate winning the FA Cup as they had to play that game at Wolves 48 hours after to try and win the double. The FA Cup Final was always the last game of the domestic season, but the FA had other ideas in Leeds case. Absolutely scandalous to have to play 2 days later. No Mick Jones and other players carrying knocks from the Final who wouldn't have played if there was nothing at stake.
24.) 21 Nov 2024 11:56:14
Lol, Aus……. I only used “many” twice pal……. that’s much more accurate, and besides, had I used it 3 times, that would’ve clearly been labelled as “hyperbole”……. ???.
25.) 21 Nov 2024 12:24:21
Absolutely spot on LUFCfeath.
26.) 21 Nov 2024 12:30:26
Well his best posts in past 6 or 7 years and by some distance.
27.) 21 Nov 2024 13:07:43
Cheers Brighty. And Aus I think?
Baz that’s a few times now you have praised my posts you must be mellowing with age.
28.) 21 Nov 2024 13:59:17
"many players from that time have said they were the best team they ever played against. "
so again - underachievers and indeed bottlers. how many runners up? we can all blame luck and make excuses about refs being corrupt etc but the best teams get past that and win anyway.
29.) 21 Nov 2024 14:32:16
Yes George. Ken Burns the referee who disallowed Peter Lorimer's brilliant free kick last minute equaliser against Chelsea at Villa Park. Kenneth Wolstenholme commentating said, "You will have to comb through the rule book to find out why that was disallowed. " Just another shocking decision in a long line which went against Revie's Leeds.
30.) 21 Nov 2024 14:49:43
So many great very rational knowlegdeable posts on this thread
Well done lads
As for Cuppa
. shame.
31.) 22 Nov 2024 10:22:44
Not many posters in this thread, and the above BazBull shows why; posts are great if they fit your agenda, and are met with scorn and open shaming if they don’t. I’d be worried if I was Cleggy, or at least confused. Compliments from the man who rates Walter’s posts higher than those of any others in here! ??.
32.) 22 Nov 2024 15:20:14
spot on Bright. Its worth noting that with Baz's attitude to coaches Revie would never have achieved anything at all with Leeds as Baz would have sacked him at the end of his first season branding him a failure. Thank goodness people who live in the real world were in charge back then, eh?
33.) 22 Nov 2024 15:49:47
ALfonzo oh dear
On Farke yes Cuppa. I would have
But never the great Don though.
06 Nov 2024 22:45:12
If leeds had no injuries or suspensions through the whole season and were plodding along near the top I guarantee Farke would play the same eleven every friggin week!
Not sour grapes as I said the same last night to a fellow Leeds fan. It was patently obvious he'd make zero changes and I just don't get it. Exactly the same as last season, roll out same team whenever possible. Must be nice being a Leeds starter as you basically know you will remain a starter no matter.
05 Sep 2024 22:39:55
Wouldn’t call Hamer a goal machine mate.
Good player though.
I’m probably wrong but not sure he’d suit our system?
30 Aug 2024 20:22:34
I kinda agree Alf but what number 10 could we have got or were even in for? Hamer is a CM who’s actually been playing on the left this season and the Hungarian guy is a wide attacker.
Maybe Gnonto is the answer as I can see him scoring double figures this season from that position, probably twice as many as Rutter managed last season.
28 Aug 2024 22:51:01
God forbid is right.
28 Aug 2024 22:49:42
As Dil says the lad can be a massive player for us.
He’s literally a top half EPL player IF he stays fit.
28 Aug 2024 22:47:27
Tanaka looked great in the World Cup but I’m a bit worried why no top flight club in Germany has come in for him?
02 Dec 2024 22:15:27
Berm name one player who Farke has improved?
Secondly name me a manager who has took his team up to the EPL and finished 9th or above in say last ten years?
I’m not saying Farke hasn’t done reasonably well with players leaving but that’s par the course when you get relagated and many other clubs go straight back up.
02 Dec 2024 19:41:53
I like Pascal but let’s not forget how poor he was the last season and a half in the top flight. In fact he was atrocious. I must admit he’s been sublime these last eighteen months though.
Gnonto can play at that level as he showed before. Rodon capable. Tanaka looks a player. Amps capable. Ramazani has the potential. After these I’m struggling to name more?
02 Dec 2024 19:33:23
Alf n Baz bang on regarding our defense. It’s not the best but mainly due to the two FBs being not great at defending. However Firpo and Bogle are integral to our attacking play and with Amps and Gruev being injured the heart of the defense is not as strong. When Amps returns I expect him to start alongside Tanaka which should make us stronger defensively.
I’m actually surprised G man not getting any starts especially away from home?
01 Dec 2024 20:15:12
Woodster I’m guessing you’re the original Woody?
If so nice to have you back mate.
30 Nov 2024 22:34:21
No way was Aaronson promised a start every game.
I believe I’m fair to all Leeds players but this lad imo is not anywhere the level needed for Leeds even at championship level. I keep hoping every week he can somehow prove me wrong but he just hasn’t got the skills needed to be a number ten.
