Rumours once again that PL teams and now Really Mad and Bayern Sputnik are looking at young Archie.
IF we were to sell him for £50, maybe £100m similar too Bellingham then I could live with that. If/ when we get back to the PL, we need a proper LB and honestly believe that Gruev, Amps and Kammy are stronger in the CM positions.
never like to think of a young, talented, proper and passionate Leeds player leaving the club, we could use that sort of money to buy 3-4 Prem quality players and hopefully secure our future financially.
Let's have a heated debate.

Agree0 Disagree0

£50M? Why would any club want one of his toenail clippings?

03 Apr 2024 13:20:01
I say keep him. I don’t think he’s defensive midfield player anyway. I want to eventually see him in an attacking midfield role. He has the guile to develop into a defence unlocker. He’s also able to shoot (on target) from distance. If we go up I hope (and expect) the 49’ers spend to build on the existing talent rather than selling it to buy new players.

03 Apr 2024 13:32:13
Definitely no to selling him if we are promoted we need to keep players like him to show we have intent of saying up to compete with the top 6 clubs this would be a backwards step we also need to keep James, Summerville Robert’s, Rutter, Rodin, Ampadu, Piroe, Joseph, Kamare, Gruev, Anthony, Cresswell, Byram, Allen, Shackleton, Gyabi and a few others buy quality to add to this team or and Gnonto a big yest to him staying.

Young Archie and Kalvin when he comes back, what a combo. Grenade thrown ?.

Good post Whiteman, ??.

03 Apr 2024 15:12:47
We won't get that kind of money at the moment - he's unproven at the top level (although we probably all think he's got what it takes any buyer would use that as a bargaining chip) , plus with FFP flying around, a lot of clubs are going to be extremely cautious over what they spend (unless of course you are Real Madrid as FFP doesn't apply and no Spanish bank will ever threaten them) .
I'd rather he stayed forever but if he does go let's wait at least until he turns 20 and has got Premier League experience.

03 Apr 2024 17:03:13
Unfortunately we don't have the luxury of being able to keep hold of players we want to. If a decent bid comes, they'll sell. I'm just going to enjoy him while he's here and try nit to look too far into the future. Only rumours for now any way. Will worry if a bid comes in.

03 Apr 2024 19:42:40
Dill We must retain Arch. Think of the unfortunate knock-on consequences his departure would cause in relation to his younger brother.

03 Apr 2024 22:55:16
I think he’ll stay for several reasons…

1 - we don’t need to sell
2 - he doesn’t want to leave
3 - he’s very inexperienced and unproven at the highest level
4 - no one is going to offer silly money to tempt the club (see 3 above) . He’s not a “Bellingham” level player (yet)

04 Apr 2024 02:20:39
Agree anni. He here for two more seasons. He will want to stay to see how ambition. If we not steadily improving. He will go. Providing we don’t get 50 plus bid for him. Then we will sell and he no choice.

04 Apr 2024 05:43:13
To be frank IF Leeds fail to go up this season its entirely feasible AG leaves Leèds United in summer

Is AG as talented as Eddie Gray at same age? Nope.

04 Apr 2024 06:46:10
Archie is the least likely player to leave Leeds even if we don’t make promotion. Simply because he is not at the level for an elite club yet. He is more Leeds than any player I can think of for a very long time and if we didn’t promotion this season, he would stay to make sure we did in the next.
The players we should be concerned about if we don’t go up will be Rutter, Summerville and Gnonto.

04 Apr 2024 06:54:48
Why would you pretend to be his Grandad, Baz?

04 Apr 2024 07:16:46
Boom boom Brighty very good

Time will tell . another season perhaps. His grandad Frank ( not I ) had no qualms leaving Leeds for Florists.

04 Apr 2024 09:35:51
Gotta disagree Ani. We will sell if we get a decent offer. Nature of the beast and currently we are not a club that turns down offers from bigger teams (in terms of league position or financial power) . Only need to look at recent windows. We're selling players to little minnows Bournemouth because they're higher up the football league than us. Plus being an academy product he would help massively in FFP or PSR as he's 100% profit. Football is a business for owners and they treat it as such.

Don’t think Archie will go dill. Guarantee how won’t go to a prem team outside top 8. Anybody under 8 possibly go down so waste of time going there. Anybody above top 8 could mean bum warming for 2 seasons. He a smart lad. Will stick around and see what happens here for 2 more seasons unless we get a too good to be true offer and then prob out of his hands. Even then the club would mostly say we have accepted offer but up to you if you want to go or not.

04 Apr 2024 13:27:25
No guarantees in football. Would hedge my bets that if we go up he'll stay though. If we don't then more likely imo. Be a few clubs willing to test our resolve.

Just talking pragmatically, of course. I would love him to stay and hope he does no matter what league we're in.

04 Apr 2024 18:39:01
Hi Dill. I do not disagree with you, however I would be very surprised if anyone made a "daft" offer [value wise] for AG, so I personally think it's a bit moot.

However, there are some very silly clubs who spend silly money on all sorts, so no one can be sure.

05 Apr 2024 08:54:22
Fair comment, pal. Just a lot of money thrown around nowadays. Bournemouth paid £20m for Alex Scott. Palace paid £22m for Wharton. Neither are big clubs but willing and able to spend decent amounts on young players. I worry what larger clubs will offer because that will definitely test our resolve.
