It’s funny how many see Charlie C as one that got away. Personally I never saw him play at a high level at Leeds or Milwall although I could see potential. A bit like Geldhart but Joe did have a number of very good performances for us.
With Charlie it seems like he’s a victim of the way we play out from the back and maybe he’s not as comfortable on the ball as others?
He’s an ole school defender which Farke obviously doesn’t like. There’s definitely a place in modern day football for a nuts n bolts defender but unfortunately not playing for Farke.

You are totally correct with that Cork, I can’t see them breaking through with our style of football and it has to be said even at Millwall young Charlie was not always first choice as CB. They’ve both got careers in professional football, but it won’t be where we want to go sadly for them.
Even if Farke doesn’t make it and I’m sure some want him to fail!? and is sacked we will not be changing our style of football at this club, reverting to old style defensive, non pressing formations that nobody wants to watch anymore, like at West Ham with Moyes.

Some having issues understanding the game has changed, OP. Defenders need to defend, but also be ball players. That's what most if not all top youth systems are teaching nowadays. The days of just being a knuckler are gone with how footy is now. Like it or not.

There may be better passers of a ball than Charlie but bottom line higher League 1 Toulouse signed him and he plays for England U21.
Perhaps Charlie has outgrown and too good for little ole Champo LUFC under choker DF.

Good to read that you are fully behind and backing our coach to guide the team to promotion this season Baz.
We haven’t even kicked a ball yet and you decide, against the majority who think Farke will win promotion, to give him no chance because he’s a choker!
It’s of no surprise yet again you’ll be slagging off owners, coach, players and anyone involved with the club as per usual.

He's gone from being fourth choice CB at Leeds to third or fourth choice CB at Toulouse. Doubt he starts over Costa and Nicolaisen, then you have Mawissa there too.

Fwiw he's a good enough defender, just not a good player. As I mentioned previously, the game has changed. Being good at one aspect will only get him so far. He needs to adapt and get better at other aspects which are vital in today's football.
