I appears very much to me that however disappointed and sad we are about losing young Archie Gray, that he was the sole sacrificial lamb that will pave the way to new incomings and quite possibly safe guard other assets like Summerville, Rutter and Gnonto.
At the same time we manage to bring back Joe Rodon who had a great season with us and I imagine only signed up with us as I’m sure there were a few clubs in the Prem who wanted him, on the assurance that the club was going to invest in new players, to make this a very serious challenge for promotion.
Let’s hope our owners and sponsors live up to that assurance.
Onwards and upwards.

Hope so OP!

I would have traded Gnonto and Summerville to keep Gray. Gnonto doesn't deserve a start over James and Summerville isn't a Leeds lad, his heart isn't in the team.
07 Jul 2024 12:26:57
Opti. Cree and gnonto will not be Leeds players in September. Let’s focus more on how much we can get and start spending some of the money.
07 Jul 2024 13:08:47
Summerville likely going . but not sure Gnonto will attract a big enough bid to worth let go.
The problems for LUFC is
1) that just like Sini last season outgoings of Summerville etc rumble on unresolved until the very end of window.
And
2) there is still no sign at all of Leeds incomings arriving before pre season.

Cry and Rutter far more important players for Leeds than Archie was.
Along with Struijk, those three are the ones we need to keep hold of at all costs. If it comes to it we can replace Gnonto, whilst getting good money for him (although don't mind if he stays) .
We'll see how it plays out as there's a long way to go this window, but those three are the backbone of the team, for me.

MOT Quite ridiculous statement about Cree. Don't know why you'd assert that.
07 Jul 2024 15:13:16
F**k it let’s sell anybody who’s not born in Leeds as their heart’s aren’t in it. Unbelievable talk!
Summerville far and away our best player but he’s not a Leeds lad so get rid.
07 Jul 2024 15:15:45
Rutter starts game 2 in sept. Cree and gnobti don’t. Sorted.

Corki, George.
Summerville is a brilliant player, no doubts. His reference point in interviews is 'him' contrast it to Rodon, amps, Gruev, Rutter et al who talk about 'the club'. This isn't a Leeds thing but does plague myriad teams.
Man U are doing relatively crap because very few of the players care about the club.
As for Gnonto, to start him over James is a disgrace. James has the power, speed, ability and goal scoring that Gnonto does and he didn't throw his toys out of the cot like Gnonto did. Gnonto refused to play for our club. That should be punished and not easily forgiven.
Players who play like hell for club and country, achieve better team outcomes than individuals who only care about themselves. Cases in point; current England squad and Ronaldo not coming off at the cost of Portugal losing out.
07 Jul 2024 16:09:45
Will be disappointed if that happens, Aus.
Haha, Corky.
07 Jul 2024 16:33:13
MOT His interview responses may well reference him and appear to prioritize over the team. However, every club needs a winner, someone who brings a certain skillset to the table whom no-one else in the team has. His mindset is therefore justified. Or would you prefer the humble Paddy marketing his lightning boots at awkward moments and missing the target regularly by large margins? Instead, suggest being thankful we own such a matchwinner.
07 Jul 2024 17:05:53
Selfish players who are crap you don't need. Selfish players who are very good can be decisive in games. Which Cry has been.
If he wasn't selfish he wouldn't have scored some of those pearlers last season. Pass is on but bends one in the top corner instead. His selfishness has paid dividends in games for us. And even if he is just playing for himself (which I don't agree with) he's still putting the effort in as he wants to show he's the best player in the league. Whatever motivates the individual to get the best out of them is what's needed. Don't mind one bit him being perceived how he is.
And as George says, he's a match-winner. We desperately need to keep him.
Man U doing crap as their quality has diminished over the seasons. That's the main reason.
Re; Gnonto. Get over it. It's well in the past is that.
07 Jul 2024 17:23:32
MOT makes a fair point about Its all about me CS.
he is the antithesis of the clubs motto side before self
And yes I do know . he was the best player last season .
07 Jul 2024 19:25:54
It's not hindered us one but tho. If anything it's helped us immensely.
Obviously you wouldn't want a full team of players who are deemed selfish, but one or two doesn't hurt when the outcome from their selfishness is a positive for the team.
07 Jul 2024 20:47:19
I'm not slagging Summerville off or disputing what an absolute asset he has been for the club.
I do think he and Gnonto should have gone first before Gray though, opinions and all that.
Man U are crap not because of a lack of talent, but because that talent has no devotion to the club.
Gnonto made his choices and I genuinely feel for the kid, who hasn't made rash choices because some tw@ whispered promises in your ears. He's a cracking player and I hope we keep him now. Again though, I would have sold him instead of Gray.
I'll defend PB here. He's a talent and has skill on the ball, he's just lacks confidence sometimes. But, he's a talisman for the team. When he plays, even if he doesn't score, we play better. He pushes and rushes the goalies and pressurises them, something Piroe doesn't do, but I wish he would.
07 Jul 2024 21:04:50
When it mattered most in last matches Summerville and Gnonto went missing.
07 Jul 2024 22:06:14
I would change that word of selfishness for confidence, even exaggerated confidence. That total belief in themselves can be misinterpreted. Many successful sports people display it and need to, to succeed.
08 Jul 2024 06:19:50
Yeah I prefer that, OP.
The entire team went missing, Baz. Can't single one or two out.
08 Jul 2024 09:58:28
The consensus online seems to be that Summerville is a back up target for most teams that are interested, rather than anyone's #1 target. Could mean he stays or potentially some bids late in the window if other targets aren't acquired.
