Jebbison supposedly on his way North for a medical.
Club expectation is that Piroe will be leaving.

Brighty North to Leeds?

21 Jul 2024 21:26:32
Love this.

21 Jul 2024 21:37:01
Hope not. Jebbison is young but has zero stats to support a buy.
Piroe on the other hand scores goals.
14 last season I believe and only started 65% of games.

Corky,

Piroe scored goals that had little impact. A third or fourth goal here and there, with exceptions, of course.
He's a skilled player and is great at putting the ball in the back of the net. He is not good at creating chances or keeping the ball.

He lost the ball to Harrogate, five out of six times. The man, and his career, are better suited elsewhere where no doubt he will knock them in for fun.

It's time to cut our losses and move on.

It's a loan, Cork. Low risk.

22 Jul 2024 08:02:06
Totally agreed MoT. He’s does not fit with us.

A no for me too bright.

Bit of data regarding Jebbison and Piroe

Piroe had a GI every 180 mins for us last season.

Jebbison has a GI every 206 mins in senior football. Although there are some mitigating factors for why Jebbison could offer us more:

He's pacey, a strong runner, interlinks play well and he's a good presser from the front - all things Piroe lacks in abundance. Jebbison has good movement off the ball and he is a decent finisher. Piroe only managed a 15% conversion rate last season, which is poor. Jebbison, while on loan at Burton (his longest stretch of first team football) he managed 18% (around 22% is generally considered a good conversion rate from my research) so pretty average, but 3% better than Piroe's.

To address any injury woes: Jebbison missed most of last season thanks to the poor work of the Sheff physios. At the time it was swept under the rug and reported as a mystery illness. In actuality they'd managed to give him a severe blood clot, which kept him out for a long time. Was rushed back to fitness and then picked up an injury after not playing because he'd been on blood thinners for months (which they aren't allowed to play whilst on) .

I’m not saying Piroe is the answer just that Jebbison stats don’t read too well. Then again he is young lad who had a nightmare last season which Dill pointed out.

22 Jul 2024 13:37:35
Bottom line dill
Who has scored more goals in the last 1,2 and 3 seasons?
Don’t get me wrong. Wanna get shot of piroe and Bambi but want the goals scored factor to be better than theirs. Stuff the rest.
We can’t buy or loan on potential this season. We got rubbish loads of that in our youth.
Proven, maybe expensive only from her in.

22 Jul 2024 15:33:14
I can understand that, Aus. Would be nice to get a proven goalscorer who can also integrate better with the team than Piroe. It's a tough task to get that without shelling out big money. If we sell Piroe then maybe we can afford it? Would be nice that tbh.

Jebbison no doubt a risk in terms of 'will he score regularly'. He certainly has attributes I like and ones that would make me lean toward him being able to at thus level. But yeah, still a risk somewhat as you're looking at potential to do as opposed to a track history of doing so, which Piroe does have, despite his other shortcomings.

22 Jul 2024 15:42:59
Just to clarify as some may see ut as contradictory.

I mean low risk financially as would be a loan, but more risky in terms of 'will he score goals'.

23 Jul 2024 05:00:00
Yeah. Loan is worth the gamble but I’d still like us to splash 20-30 on a proven as well. Although that didn’t help too much with piroe. More research should have shown he couldn’t fit into our system. Poor knee jerk scouting.

23 Jul 2024 05:44:22
Don’t see the point in loaning him in, surely we’d be better off giving the game time to Joseph?!

23 Jul 2024 08:03:57
The point isn't to replace Joseph. It's to replace Bamford/ Piroe.

23 Jul 2024 13:01:06
Jebbison is crap, Piroe has done more than him, let's look at the stats:

Joel Piroe:

Jong PSV 54 Appearances 14 goals
PSV 11 Appearances 1 goal
Sparta Rotterdam Loan 18 Appearances 2 goals
Swansea City 91 Appearances 41 goals

Daniel Jebbison:

Sheffield United 29 Appearances 2 goals
Chorley Loan 2 Appearances
Burton Albion Loan 20 Appearances 7 goals

And you're telling me Jebbison is better than Piroe what planet are you on. For a forward 2 goals is not good it's terrible.

23 Jul 2024 13:05:33
Okay mate, you win.

23 Jul 2024 13:10:53
FYI, you've put Piroe's youth/ reserve team goals in there but you've omitted Jebbison's.

Pretty raw stats as well. Need to look into how many minutes each has played to see what sort of ratio for goals or goal involvements per minute is.

Then you've got to look at hoe each player fits into our system.

If only it was solely about stats. I mean, if it was then Darren Bent would be a better EPL striker than Drogba ?

Cheers for the myopic contribution though, mate ?.
