Another crushing defeat in a playoff final, but strangely the pain dissipated far quicker than previously.

Trying to work that out, I think it’s predominantly I really don’t like the EPL and it’s ever increasing arrogance and disdain towards the English Football pyramid.

Of course I want my team to be in the best possible league but I’ve come to the conclusion (personal view) the Championship is the most exciting English league.

Like F1 just now, so boring when every car at Monaco finished in the same order they started.

Well there’s every chance the EPL will finish identical to last year save swapping out the relegated and promoted teams.

Who really wants to be in a league when (in reality) the best you can hope for is staying up to collect the cash,

Cash for the owners and very little finds its way in benefitting loyal supporters.

Appreciate this sounds like sour grapes, but it’s just a personal view that without committed billionaires you cannot even hold mid table in the EPL.

As to next season, as others have already stated we need to get our business done early and I will be very happy to scour the best of league one and the championship for our new recruits, if we do go up you generally have to do a Forest now and buy around twenty new recruits in order to stay up.

As for Farke, given the challenges he faced 90 points is an incredible achievement is he perfect no, but I certainly think he warrants another go, don’t fear any of the returning teams although they will have parachute money, but if David Moyes joins a team they could be a tough opponent.

Happy is the wrong word, but genuinely looking forward to another exciting championship season.

Brother in law is a saints fan and as pleased as he was (annoyingly) the first thing he said to me was “oh we will be coming straight back down”!

Great points class - completely agree.

Good post class.
I always want us to win but apart from the sudden realisation that we had lost, I wasn’t too upset.
I don’t think it will always be same up as same down but def 3 from 10.
Even then promoted teams are fighting for survival not glory.
Fact be known, I admire the skill of the top teams and the talent of the individuals and enjoy watching them.
Maybe super league not a bad idea. Let them move on and leave the epl. Then proper teams can compete on an even level.
Chatting to a Leicester fan today. He knows they are coming straight back down. Where’s the fun in that.
Efl is far far more competitive than prem.

Excellent post Class.

Its not a given next season that the 3 promoted teams come straight back down. Forest and Brentford could be vulnerable.

IF Ipswich can keep McKenna they could just about stay up.

Saints might surprise.

As for the Champo . Burnley and Luton will be strong. Leeds will need to be very shrewd in transfer market.

What Baz said.

Baz, you really ought to compose an incoming wish list of Championship players we would want in a separate thread perhaps.

28 May 2024 17:41:37
Baz doesn’t do constructive posts, so that would be a big ask.
Excellent post, as always Classy!

I would be very impressed by such a post. Over to you Baz.

Dill mentioned some good suggestions but bottom line Leeds recruitment team will naturally have their own ideas. None of which will concur with Dills therefore obsolete list

Last year they forked up not getting a CAM . bad mistake. must not be repeated.

The pain doesn't get any easier for me having seen us win the cup in 72 we've lost every cup final or playoff final since 4 cup finals 4 playoff finals only scoring against Charlton it's failure on a magnitude scale.
