Tell Scourers, Citeh and Barcodes to Farke off. Asking price for Gray bros? One billion pounds each.

Agree3 Disagree0

12 Feb 2024 16:22:21
Everything changes when we go up George. We won't be a selling club in the prem. A dynasty is being built and DF and the 49ers are the architects.

12 Feb 2024 16:38:19
Two billion each

And

Great news my main man DJ is fit and back in squad for Swansea.

12 Feb 2024 16:39:51
I agree!

12 Feb 2024 17:33:38
I'd still very much enjoy telling them to Farke off regardless.

12 Feb 2024 18:46:35
That's just silly Vid
Big boys come knocking our lads are off, that's just way it. is

Just say pool do come in, how could any lad resist? and don't say Kal

City are just a law into themselves, no way anyone getting in there unless a world talent

Daku is some talent b. t. w.

So you think that's the way forward Chris? No ambition to keep and build a formidable team, sell and start again, if possible, which it's not, how do you reconstruct the understanding and unity when you keep changing. If we are serious about building a club who can compete we have to involve our best players. Chelsea have proved you can't buy diddly squat. The biggest advantage we have is the unity of the players and staff we have. End of. It has to be capitalised on or there is no point.

12 Feb 2024 20:44:49
I like your way of thinking, Vid. Hopefully that's what happens! ?.

12 Feb 2024 20:49:59
Cheers Dill, but also, maybe, do we not think that these players may have an ambition to win things for Leeds, with the players they enjoy playing with? Nothing is guaranteed if you move, except more dosh.

12 Feb 2024 21:58:03
Ambition is served with playing for the club most likely to achieve it.
If we are handled professionally and build and invest in our team sensibly it would still be 3 yrs before we could sneak a euro spot. Maybe a cup.
Fortunately the top 6 is now a top 5 and I can’t see that changing in the near future.
I agree with vid re player unity but am realistic enough to know some will go in summer. Up or not.
Jimmy will be gone.
Gray I think might hang around longer for regular football. He won’t want a kalv to happen to him.

12 Feb 2024 22:08:17
Sorry Vid mate but unfortunately Chris is right on this.
Even if we get promoted and say City bid 80 million for Summerville, well there’s only one outcome.
Reminds me when Liverpool sold Coutinho for 145 million. Pool couldn’t say no to the bid. But what they did after changed the club for the better. They got in Alison and Van Dyke for from that transfer fee and the rest is history.

12 Feb 2024 22:15:32
I used to think it was impossible to break into the top spots in the Premier League, but now with FFP, sustainability or whatever it’s called. If we can get Elland Road up to 55k then I think it can happen, but we have to convince our best players to stay, which is going to be difficult, as I’m afraid many of them think short term, which due to a footballers career being so short, is totally understandable. ??‍♂️.

{Ed025's Note - i dont think its understandable danum, for me its greed mate, these players earn more in a year than the normal guy in the street does in a lifetime..

12 Feb 2024 22:40:26
Sadly, it frequently comes down to money talks. The Jimmy former Feyenoord teammate social media post is probably down to an agent leaked secret. No doubt there's a few clubs readying a big wage packet for my hero. ?.

13 Feb 2024 05:18:08
Phillips was Leeds boy who said he would never leave Leeds it’s football and every one in it, is in for the money at some point if it’s right he will go, it’s not like it used to be where you stayed at a club things change.

13 Feb 2024 06:47:42
No 1 ever said that's way forward Vid!

What's being said is the reality, that is just that reality

Big boys come knocking

Young lads go walking,

It would seem strange if that surprised you,

13 Feb 2024 07:42:24
I don’t think it’s all about money that attracts players, it’s also the success, trophies and medals.
I’m sure Rice and Phillips both loved playing and being a part of their former clubs, but like anyone else, we all crave for more.
But as we’ve seen with our own Kalvin Phillips, success is not always guaranteed and that desire and lust for success can throw a players career backwards.
I have no doubt that those young talented prospects like Summerville, Rutter, Gnonto and Gray will one day leave Leeds if they continue to improve.
I just hope we can hold onto them as long as possible and they can continue to furthering Leeds Utd out of this league and up the Premiership.

Whilst I tend to agree with the overall sentiments that the team will change whatever the outcome, come the end of the season, I’m not convinced the big 6 will come a calling. We are excited about our young talent, but let’s be brutally honest, cutting it up against donkey defences in the championship is one thing; doing it against world class in the EPL is another. We all know too well there is a huge gulf between the two leagues. Don’t get me wrong, I think this side is (and will be) better equipped to survive next time.

Our “best” players have all played in the EPL and largely struggled; I know they have probably improved in many cases since then, but they haven’t become world beaters. I think we need to moderate our enthusiasm and at the same time not be so fearful that the team will entirely broken up.

The biggest threat to our team is player earning power. Philips is proof that loyalty disappears when you can quadruple your pay. This will be the biggest issue to the club, convincing our players to forgo the big bucks for a while. Really talented players who know they will get the chance to earn huge eventually might stay for a while, those who aren’t will not want to miss their one and only chance. I think our players sadly fall into the latter category (as did Philips) .

Archie seems to have his head screwed on, and is also being well advised by his family. It seems his main focus is on developing as a player and he will know that is best served by playing first team football. He will be quite aware he’s far more likely to get that regularly at Leeds rather than one of the big clubs. Yes, he could sign for Citeh or ‘Pool and be loaned out to get first team experience elsewhere, but doing so at whatever team, he’d just be another squad player, surrounded by teammates and staff who don’t know or particularly value/ care about him or his development.

I may be wrong, but I suspect he’d be more minded to stick with Leeds next season, even if we don’t go up. From that point it’s up to the 49ers to ensure their ambitions and actions enable our Club’s development to keep pace with Archie’s. If they do so, there’s a reasonable chance he’ll choose to remain here beyond that. His stated dream is to win trophies with Leeds - so we need to be progressing at a rate that enables him to genuinely believe that dream is achievable.
