Gotta be happy with the table now.
100% in our own hands.
Still a long way to go.
Bit by bit things are going our way for once?
Ipswich still a puzzle though and saints wobble I didn't see coming.

Agree3 Disagree0

You had Ipswich about 10th by now did you not Aus?

21 Feb 2024 06:57:47
What’s your point baz?

21 Feb 2024 07:19:40
Aus : That little ole Ipswich continue proving so many doubters/ critics wrong ; still in top 3.

21 Feb 2024 09:58:35
Baz, I don't think there are any doubters re Ipswich; I argue and continue to argue that they won't make second, as do you. The difference being that I forecasted that when they were potentially 12 points ahead of us coming into the game at Elland Road. anyhow, it's a little immaterial now, given what has actually happened / is happening. I accept you forecasted them as 3rd at the beginning of the season [on what basis at that time is anyone's guess / probably yours as well! ]

The season is developing in a very interesting way. Leeds and [particularly] Southampton, made poor starts, whereas both Leicester both had incredible starts.

Did we have our "wobble" in December - let's hope so!
No doubt, Ipswich have had their wobble late December / January, and whilst they are getting back to form, they still ship a lot of goals.

Are Southampton and maybe Leicester about to have theirs?

Obviously, it is imperative that we build on the recent misfortune of our competitors this Friday.

Ipswich will fade away in April, they’ve got much tougher opponents to play. Struggling to beat bottom of the league Rotherham doesn’t convince me at all. I still think the last few games will be a battle between Leeds, Southampton and yes Leicester!

21 Feb 2024 10:51:20
Ani I like your summary build up to the crux end of season. a bit like the back cover of a novel ?

But come on your ' Ipswich are gone ' proclamation definitely happened (way) AFTER they had lost to Leeds not before as you say.

Ipswich had lost only 2 matches prior to that Leeds match . best stats in Champo.

21 Feb 2024 10:57:10
Some people wwre stating Ipswich would fade away long ago

April is the last month of the season!

21 Feb 2024 12:19:03
Baz Gonners do face a difficult April. OP is right. If we keep winning, nothing can stop us. Friday night is huge. I'd like to see Joseph start.

21 Feb 2024 13:10:38
DF will keep same starting 11 Georgey

Ipswich finishing 2nd imo should not be discounted .25 % chance imo Leeds 40 % Saints 35%

People kept saying Leicester would fade away in 2016 yet they never did and won EPL.

21 Feb 2024 13:50:07
When we beat Ipswich at their er field I predicted they were rubbish. I said their defense was useless. Check out goals conceded.
Apart from Rotherham they are the worst Team out of about 10 I’ve seen this season.
They continue to strangely hang on. They can score goals. We all know that’s not a real recipe for success.
Winners are defenders.

21 Feb 2024 13:59:05
Baz, for absolutely accuracy in my suggestion that Ipswich has gone.

I said that a Ipswich has a real tough set of games, starting with our match with them [23rd December]. "This will define their season, "

After they drew with QPR [29th December[, I said they were "gone. " aka as 6 weeks ago.

21 Feb 2024 15:08:40
So yes Ani after Leeds match

And have those matches defined their season detrimentally? Nope.

Aus ; Ipswich are " rubbish"? Sure they have conceded more goals than Leeds and three or four other teams

But they lose the least of all Champo teams ;

Discounting them entirely . hmm . madness.

21 Feb 2024 15:59:27
Let's have it right, anyone who's watched Ipswich this season can see they're not the best. They ship goals left and right and they don't have a great team/ squad like the other 3 mentioned (us included) . Somehow they keep eeking our results (very lucky last night against a woeful team who've struggled to score all season) . There's not a cat in hells chance that will last all season based on their proclivity to concede. They don't pass the eye test at all for me.

Massive overachievers who've rode a momentum wave.

21 Feb 2024 17:28:36
Not many games left for Ipswich to fade away

Just 13 out of 46

Just 4 defeats in 33 requires a lot of "luck"

21 Feb 2024 22:30:22
I said last night was lucky, Baz. They are overachievers this season.
They don't pass the eye test for me at all. Conceding a lot then trying to outscore opponents is a recipe for disaster imo.

21 Feb 2024 23:33:09
Baz, I argue that Ipswich’s season has been (re) defined. Them and Leicester had unbelievable starts and according to most pundits couldn’t be caught, yet both Leeds have caught and passed them. Their form over the last 12 matches is on average 9th/ 10th (boosted by the latest improvement) .

They won 16 of their first 20 games and yet (with the recent improvement) , still only managed 4 from the next 12 (1 in 9) …you continue to defend “little ole Ipswich, ” but I doubt you would be so forgiving had Leeds had the same record over the last 12 games.

22 Feb 2024 06:25:55
Can’t argue with that Ani! Ther is also no argument that Tractors have got lucky on many occasions, none more so than vs Rotherham the other day. They will be in the playoffs, and get beat, then capitulate and get found out next season imo.
