So the vultures Man City are signing Leeds academy mid fielder Finley Gorman seven figure fee . a record for a fifteen year old wish him well but would be much better for him to develop by staying at Leeds.

Disappointing but seven figure fee better than nowt for 15 year old kid
From his perspective he is also in better hands ( football and financial) in the much better Citeh academy than Leeds academy.
If he turns out to be GREAT in 4 or 5 years time he will definitely play for Citeh 1st team; if NOT he will get a move to a lesser team dependent on his ability around that time.
It's a win win for him.

Not really that surprised also that Finlay Gorman is also leaving Leeds United when he sees talents like Sean McGurk Matteo Joseph and Charlie Cresswell not even given any / proper chances in a lower league: the Championship.
Add to that list Greenwood, Drameh, Davis, Geldhardt and others
Yes Darren Farke has at moment Gray and Summerville ( possibly 3 with Gnonto though he hardly plays ) . but still no others given a sniff of a chance let alone a proper run of games
Leeds United 3rd or 4th best manager ever David Oleary was truly the last Leeds United manager who brought through LOTS of of youth players PERMANENTLY into first team.

Leeds are winning and DFs substitutions are working. You cannot force kids in just for the sake of it. Yes I agree we have rough diamonds with outstanding potential but we cannot disrupt a team just to give kids a chance it must be organic. For some with such obvious potential it mus be easier to find loans to a team with the same ethos as ours and with a guarantee of a minimum number of games. Yes, loan them out now and see what the summer brings with one whole season for Farke to analyse and see who wants to return from loan (that we want) . /.

Yes Leo . Leeds are winning ( by one goal margin again at the weekend) .
But don't agree that his subs are working ( certainly some of the time they are not) . we have recently lost the second half 1 nil to mediocre teams after substitutions.
And again thank God David Oleary didn't have your Uber cautious philosophy on playing young players.
Leif Davis never given a chance at Leeds United. but far, far, far better than Firpo. top assists maker in country and he can actually defend unlike Firpo!
Cresswell is already better than Cooper and will develop into a much better defender ( though not with Leeds United it seems)

Brighty : It's not so much WHO being important but WHY that valuation decision within the Leeds United hierarchy ( although seeing as DF is manager ( not coach) he may have been consulted on fee valuation.
And for sure it was DF who decided Greenwood was not part of his plans.

Agree on the “why” bit Baz, but very much doubt DF had anything to do with it. Most managers don’t. Plus Farke hardly knew the lad.
