If we go up we definately need strengthening or we will be coming straight back down. Two reasons ; our profligacy in front of goal coupled with the amount of times we are carved open at the back.
Please don't harp on about us having best goal against record in the league - Burnley and the Blunts were pretty frugal last year, not so much when up against class strikers that just need a sniff of goal.
The footy is much more honest in Championship any way.

I very much doubt that a single person on here will argue with you about the need to strengthen should we go up, 70! We have some excellent Champo players, who all will have to prove their ability to step up. Thankfully, it won’t be JM choosing who we get this time around!

Yep. Team nowhere near good enough to stay up. The prem is reasonably settled. A top 12 and then the rest. So always going to be tough. Will take good and regular and smart investment over 3 years to break into the safety zone.
Until then we will scrap for survival.
As I mentioned below it obviously depends on who goes as to what we need.
But loan mutineers aside.
I’m thinking likely at least 7 out. Some by choice others forced.
So at least 7 in.
Depending on what league we are in of course.

I have to be honest I would argue to an extent.
Of course we need to and will strengthen but I don’t think we are far off and for me this squad in the prem this season under farke finishes above
Sheff, Burnley, Luton, forest, palace, Bournemouth and maybe a few more.
The championship is very strong this year and the prem is weak… we will be fine don’t worry
I’m farke we trust… also at this stage of the season we are 8 points ahead of Belisa team that got promoted. just as idea of how good we/ farke are and how good the leauge is this year.
On points Belisa team doesn’t get promoted! Which is mental.

Yes 70. We will need a big overall in the Premiership. I think farke will know this as has been pointed out by dill Norwich spent nothing. If I remember rightly Norwich played well in the Premiership and scored a few and were attacking but could not defend. They still had a championship back line in the Premiership.
So I think he might focus on the defence with one or two attacking players.

Agreed we need to strengthen but not the wholesale changes that may endanger dressing room unity. For a first foray into the market 4 strategic signings will allow the team to kick on in the Prem and ease the need to panic buy in January.
Buying quality for a first team spot is hard enough. The hard part will be convincing quality to join knowing that he will be a backup but for times when things are not going to plan we need to bring on a different, not a lesser, player.
