I see that Celtic are looking to sign Yosuke Ideguchi, the Japanese lad we bought and treated so appallingly. Apparently shining for his current club, yet again. Shame he never got a real chance.

{Ed007's Note - Hi mate, can you tell me what you mean if possible?}

I’d be very surprised if Celtic shelled out any money for Ideguchi. I think at his very short stay at Leeds, Bielsa was quoted in saying he appreciated his professionalism but couldn’t see him playing any football at Leeds.
I think Orta had a Barry Crocker the day he presented Idaguchi to Bielsa.
He then had a handful of games in Germany on loan then ripped his cruciate ligament and returned to the J League.
I don’t think he was suited for European football at all, the J League is likely his best option.

OP - Ideguchi was bought the previous season but almost immediately sent on loan to Cultural Leonese, which we had some links with through our bizarre supposedly mutually beneficial tie up with the Qatari Aspire Academy through that leach Ivan Bravo. He arrived at Leeds as a very promising deep lying and fairly combative playmaker who was becoming an important member of the Japanese national team, and had he been kept at Leeds for that season, helped to learn English and allowed to develop within the Championship, could conceivably have been at a level sufficient to be moulded by Bielsa. At Cultural they seem to have made precious little effort to help him settle into Spain or indeed their squad, he rotted on the bench and completely dropped out of consideration for the Japanese World Cup squad. It’s little wonder that he was not at a good enough level for Bielsaball in the Championship.

Celtic already has Furuhashi showing them that Japanese players are perfectly capable of playing what some might label Championship level football, so why would they not take an interest in Ideguchi. Celtic would clearly also benefit from increasing interest in Japan, generating more shirt sales etc and potential commercial tie ups. Conversely, Leeds can expect to suffer in the Japanese market for some time having seemingly totally disrespected one of their rising stars. As such, I consider the way we handled Ideguchi to be one of the biggest mistakes made on Radrizzani’s watch. Both that and the bizarre trip to Myanmar would seem to have been influenced by Ivan Bravo - who should never have been allowed to sit on the Board of our great Club.

See we may again be changed for falling to control our crowd when are these morons going to learn that’s money we could spend on players I hope they check all cctv and ban them for life, we don’t have to give the FA any reason to fine us with fan like this.

Brighty and Cluey, I too must add my shame at the way we treated Ideguchi. Never really given a chance. I hope he goes to Celtic and smashes it.

Clu, I imagine then that Radz was badly advised at the time, but I still think if Bielsa couldn’t see any future for him at Leeds then he simply wasn’t good enough for the way he sets up his team. I do agree the board did handle it shabbily.

{Ed007's Note - Thanks for the info lads 👍
