Oh the memories. Jay Roy Grot replaces
Lassoga.
Still, good luck to the lad.

I was over the moon at the lasogga signing. I was then over the moon (once I’d seen him play) when he left.

Bit harsh

Got to say if we could have found a new Rod Wallace or a new Alan Smith I always thought Lasagna could have been the next Lee Chapman or the next Mark Viduka.

He wasn't going to bust a gut for you in the channels or come short, but in the box he always seemed to find space and he seemed to always hit the target.
Unfortunately at the time he joined us we just didn't have the players to bring the best out of him

However, back to the present day. I am seeing a lot of Michael Bridges in Bamford theses days. I always remember how O'Leary used M. B. as a lone striker in away games at the likes of Russia, in the UEFA Cup. The lad worked his socks off. that's what I am now seeing in P. B. theses days, all be it from a TV screen sized shot of the games. And that selfless pass for Harrison's tap-in shows the progress he has made this season. that's the actions of a striker that knows he has the confidence of his manager. His all round game gets him selected not just a goal tally. Of course he is not going to be dominant in every game he plays this year, some defenders will dominate him, but his intelligence means he has a good chance of working them out for next season and doing even better

Thats my hope anyway.

I will always remember lasogga and Alioski RIP wall apart despite being a man down. That day he was class but think as you say we didn’t have the best team or manager to get most from him

I also agree about Bamford and bridges, I loved bridges as well unlucky with injuries but in his day pure class

I always rated bam bam and think he has done as well this year as any Orem striker all things considered he does miss the odd chance but then so did beckford in leauge one and so does Salah so it happens.

Bermo, on Bamford you have always maintained that he was a good player so I doff my cap to you on that one.

I started by thinking he was a bit lightweight to be a No 9, let alone a lone striker No 9. However, on watching him more and more I can see that he doesn't dominate centre backs with his physicality but they are exhausted by his work rate. Such a slight bloke yet he can run for 90 minutes.
His team mates aren't lumping the ball up to him, rather they are passing in to spaces knowing the lad will chase every pass (a principle that Lasogga never got) . Once Harrison/ Raphina/ Costa/ Poveda get up to speed on this selflessness I can see there being a lot more goals in our attack.

He does work and run his b*****cks off. I know he is a very smart guy off the pitch and that shows on and off the ball. I know he can miss a sitter but I think he is a very good finisher. I think he struggled in champ due to how we play teams often sit back so he had two or three men on him and no space that’s why I made my bet as I thought in prem he’d have more space and get the goals. hoping it continues as I could do with the money from the bet.

What was your bet Bermo? PL top scorer?

02 Feb 2021 18:35:40
He should be leading goal scorer by a country mile his doing well bam bam big MOT for tomorrow boys n girls.

I had a bet with a fellow Leeds fan that Bamford would score more goals this year than last year he offered me 5-1 so it’s worth 250 if I win.
