Slightly off topic, but having watched Ambrosia (I think) fortunately beat Everton, like to ask Ed0025 what he thinks of Sean Dyche? Cannot dispute he CAN get results but I could never watch his brand of football week in week out …. Be great to get a Everton’s fan perspective?

{Ed025's Note - I think most of us are on the fence Co92, he has got us solid and hard to beat but some of the football is dire mate. He plays one up front on his own and very little support from midfield. But it is what it is and if he keeps us up he will have done his job..

Agree6 Disagree0

I love Dyce he consistently gets results.

I know many fans who moan about dire football… then sack a manager like Dyce or rowett (as the case with millwall.

They then bring in a good footballing manager. they then get beat most weeks and sack the manager for someone more like what they had,

Football is a results business as sammer once said (and he won everything) you enjoy winning that is all that matters if you enjoy the football that is a bonus

I’d take a 1-0 George Graham win over a wonder 4-5 loss.

{Ed025's Note - i think there is a middle ground Bermo, you see at the moment we are not winning games and playing very poorly as well mate, its very frustrating..

I do get that mate but truth is for a king while you’ve had a poor team lacking quality. He has done well to keep you up.

We would never know but if you bring in a football playing manager like kompany I think you would of been in a far worst position

Look at Luton they play like a team who are scrapping and they know they are the poorer team most weals so they play a fitting style and might just survive as a result.

It’s an entertainment business Bermo surely you of all on here understand that?
Then again in saying that I watched one of your movies once!
???
In all seriousness the Ed is right in you need a bit of middle ground.
Wilkos Leeds united were that. Dogged yet could play scintillating football.

No in all honesty I don’t, same with films… is it better to make a great film that breaks even or an awful film that sells well?

Same with football I love winning, if I like the football it’s a bonus not the main point

We have played great this season and won… that’s quality… we have also played below average and won… that’s also great

Great football is a bonus and brilliant and the dream senario but I’d take a poor win any day.

If we okay awful for rest of season and bore every game to a 1-0 win and go up I’ll be very very happy

As sammer said… enjoy winning the football comes second.

{Ed025's Note - im with CORK Bermo...its an entertainment industry, paying good money to watch overpaid prima donnas prance around for 90 minutes and not give a toss about the supporters or the club is not my idea of value mate..

09 Mar 2024 23:12:30
I can see both your points and agree to a huge extent… but take millwall as prime example.

Rowett over achieved with a small club with small budget for four years…. They nearly made playoffs which is huge considering time at club

Fans said we want to see better football, so they bring in Edward, highly rated coach at England and Chelsea… he wanted to play football the right way…. As a result the club got beat most weeks and went from playoffs to relegation. So they bring in Harris… since then the football has been ‘worse’ the results are better.

Not every team can play pretty football, if you are lucky enough to support a team who can play pretty football fantastic… if you support most clubs who can’t…. Then play to win…. The win should be the entertainment.

That's why bermo that in my opinion bielsa was and is an amazing coach.
He takes very ordinary teams and makes them win and gets them playing attractive exiting football.
He has done it all around the world and he is doing it with Uruguay.
But there is a limit to what coaching and system and hard work can do.
I think once belief is gone the team returns to being ordinary.

Ben as a coach I do agree.

He was a world class coach, he improves players and gets teams playing great football

However my gripe was as a manager, four years and a small fortune to take leeds where?

Making same mistakes, leaking goals for fun and can’t buy a win

Ideally there is a middle ground like farke and klopp

However if middle ground can’t be found I’d look at a manager like moyes or Dyce over Belisa

Look at Everton and West Ham… leeds got relegated and there lies the main point of my arguement

Results over style when push comes to shove.

Klopp had spend 1 billion. Pep spent a similar amount and that was after inheritong a team who had already won the title. The 'fortune' you claim Bielsa spent is a drop in the ocean compared to what you actually spend to compete in the Premier league, especially since half the players we bought were injured.

10 Mar 2024 13:25:44
Bermo yes money was spent but not nearly in the amounts needed in the prem. We needed major investment from the moment we went up. Probably in the amounts that were spent for Jesse.
Bielsa needed a quality bench so the team could have dealt with injuries. Instead we had u21s and championship players as reserve.
That's why I think farke has been helped this year in that he has he benefits of 2 years of premier money inheriting the likes of gio gnonto and dj. Also the likes of cree and Joseph and struijk maturing.

What's this yet another rinse and repeat rant by Berm on Bielsa.

Surely not ?

# rent free.

I admit he is in my head. as are most useless managers who destroyed my club… I’ll even admit I still wake up about once a month in a cold sweat screaming HOCKADAY

But you gaz always have to comment… if I didn’t know better I’d say I’m living in you heads rent free, which o guess means you are also paying for besila who is living in mind

I’m in your head … in your head… Bermo … Bermo ber ber ber mo.

10 Mar 2024 15:17:12
But there's the rub Berma ; you simply don't know better ?.
