I don't wish to put a downer on last night's performance, we were excellent, but I am slightly concerned that if we don't get promoted the vultures will stop circling and swoop down on us.

We nearly lost Gnonto earlier this season and Jimmy looks like he could easily have his head turned but my biggest concern would be losing Archie - he made £200 million pounds worth of Chelsea midfielders look ordinary for the most part last night, so they'll be knocking the door down come the summer if we don't go up along with the other main premier league scavengers!

Agree2 Disagree0

Start circling, not stop (d'oh! )

29 Feb 2024 08:42:47
It’s a huge worry for sure. Add Matteo Joseph to that list too after last night.

Err yep most definitely Cleggy

Promotion this season is a must.

Don’t think Archie will leave yet. Think he will be loyal to Leeds for another season or two.
Jimmy and gnonto and possibly Gio may go though.

Cleggy, don't worry about losing Archie, according to someone on the live chat he is 'over hyped' ?????.

29 Feb 2024 08:58:52
Absolutely. So pleased for him, genuinely enjoyed his game last night.

Cleggy - I think we have more chance of going up now that distraction is out of the way. In another year, a cup run is great - and at full strength last night I think we would have beaten them. I love the fact that we’re a second division team yet went to a premier league team and put a weaker first XI out than they did - based on the players available to each team - yet still ran them close. I have nothing against Pochettino - but last night won’t have given their fans any more faith. The risk of players leaving if we don’t go up has always been there and Farke will have to cross that bridge if we come to it. We have 12 games - starting on Saturday. And it’s a far more important game than last night.

I think even in the Premiership some teams will come swooping for some of our talented youngsters.
The only difference is you can sell them for a higher price in the Premiership.
Don’t kid yourselves although I do think Archie will stay at Leeds for a bit longer, we hope. ?.

Spot on Manston . getting out of unnecessary distraction Cup best thing for Leeds in terms of getting promoted.

Richie : I do feel if Archie Gray wasnt related to Leeds Legend Eddie Gray . there wouldn't be quite so much commotion about him by Leeds United fans ( and others such as Lèe Dixon last night)

Is he good? . Sure . but steady a tad on . he has been playing Champo and a bang average Chelsea

Imo arguably he wasnt even MOM . Ampadu and Joseph impressed just as much if not more.

29 Feb 2024 09:50:59
Whoa, steady on with your bucket of cold water tho I (it pains me to say this) tend to agree with your "take a step back" sentiment. There are always those who given a good game/ run will have any team winning everything from the intertoto to the World Cup (the boat race included) . He can only play what's in front of him and so far he has impressed against all comers. As for World Class now, well it depends if you want 100 mill for him? For me he he is the future. He is unsellable.

Archie mugged off a few hundred million sovs of midfield last night. And looked very comfortable doing it. Let’s not forget that nearly 3000 minutes of his game time has been at RB, and yet he slotted right into MF as tho he’d played there all season. Exceptional, with the caveat of his age, is what I would say. Imagine how he might have developed had he not been crocked by that Villa thug, and missed most of a season.

Chelsea midfield bossed first half Bright.

29 Feb 2024 14:13:30
Totally agree with all that Bright, Baz you’re definitely setting yourself up as a loser when calling Archie Gray overrated. That kid is set for stardom and to think he’s only going to get better.
I’m absolutely certain he’s got all the right people around him to make sure he becomes a big success.
It’s very likely we will lose him to an elite club one day, let’s enjoy his time with us.

OP if he has even half the talent of the superlatively gifted Eddie then Archie will become a very good player.
