Jesse Marsch has stated:

"We're actively pursuing both positions (striker and left back) . The striker one has been well documented. De Ketelaere was a goal of ours and it's not finished yet with him, but we've also moved on to some other targets. Left back - we have a few different candidates and we're just trying to evaluate exactly where we are with the roster and what exactly we need. "

Straight from the horses mouth. We are looking at players in the positions we've all expressed we think we need them. And as mentioned, chasing CDK is not yet o er but other irons are in the fire, whereas LB they're looking at a few candidates.

Hope this alleviates some people's worrying.

Probably not Dillinger, they are a worrying bunch or is that a bunch that worries! I honestly think we are handling this window very well. I think with the new coach there is a more unified approach to recruitment. He is giving people like Davis a chance and he’s looked at others and made a decision on them. I really think we could play some exciting football this year and a few yellow cards as well to show the bite!

I agree Spanish. I'm excited about the new season.

20 Jul 2022 13:06:48
probably a few less yellow's than last year though tbh Spanish! that's a record we don't really want.

No retort baz?
Usually first off the blocks.
It is taking time but strikers are the premium and cdk never join us with ac snooping. So it’s about getting players that want to join us which is hard when bookies got us nailed on for relegation.
We will get a striker and lb. Let’s see who they are.

Hi Aus sorry mate was busy watching some guy doing some Irish jigs in Playa de la Americas

Now on to Dill's post, yeah fine good that JM has confirmed Leeds are seeking to recruit a striker and LB soooooon please

But being greedy want 2 strikers, not just one. Or a goalscoring attacking midfielder

Cheers Baz the Worrier ????.

Realistically one more striker would do us right goal wise.

Bamford is back. What does he contribute when fit all season. let's say 10 goals, conservatively. Gelhardt chips in with 5 or so. New striker 10 goals.

That's 25 goals there.

We've lost 11 goals in Raph going. Bamford scored 2 last season.
Joffy bagged 2 as well.

By my calculations, with a new striker contributing 10 goals that improves our goals scored by 10. How many is Sinisterra going to score 5, maybe 8? Harrison averaging 8 league goals per season. Aaronsen?

I feel like one striker is enough to bump our goals up considerably from last season.

We scored 42 last season. Being conservative and adding only 10 more goals (thus discounting Sinisterra, Aaronsen contributions) to take us to 52, that puts us as joint 9th top scorers in the EPL. I'd take that happily.

Obviously this is all speculation, but you see my point, we're not that far removed from where we want to be goal wise.

All that talk about who we need and are after means nothing until a contract is signed!

20 Jul 2022 15:31:54
Relax Baz the worrier, I think we’ll get enough goals this year and I think they will come from all over the park including defenders from set pieces, big Year for Gelhardt to show he can kick on, Greenwood has set piece goals in him as well, a fit Bamford, never mind the new boys! I think we’ll surprise a few people, you included going forward. Still think his style is very vulnerable to fast breaking play out onto the wings, but we’ll concede less. I’ll get someone’s bum tattooed if we get relegated next year!

It means the club is aware of what areas need improving.

20 Jul 2022 16:17:56
Exactly Hooksie .

20 Jul 2022 16:22:04
?Baz. Actually in Costa Adeje near Caleta. Can’t be slumming it in Americas ?.

20 Jul 2022 17:11:18
Dilli "it means the club is aware of what areas need improving". Does that reference LUFC recruitment or what Spaniard was referring to being Berm's bottom?

20 Jul 2022 17:20:18
Some people just can’t see a positive in a lottery win, let alone good progress in a transfer window! I’m positive we will get what we need over the line in plenty of time!

20 Jul 2022 17:42:51
The former, unfortunately, George ?.

Just to add to the original post, Fabrizio Romano has said: “Kalimuendo has always been one of the players [on] the list. Let’s see if Leeds decide to jump into it again, because then they focus.

“They wanted him one month ago, then they focused on Charles De Ketelaere, but now Milan are [leading the race for him]. So, Leeds are waiting to see what happens with De Ketelaere. If the player is joining Milan – as it seems – they will move on different targets – Kalimuendo could be one of them. ”.

20 Jul 2022 17:59:19
Really Corky that is quite a surprise I had you down as an Americas laddie.

20 Jul 2022 18:17:21
Update from Romano:

"AC Milan directors Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara had direct meeting in Belgium with Club Brugge for Charles de Ketelaere, described as ‘positive’.

Talks will continue in the next hours and days to reach full agreement. "

20 Jul 2022 19:14:26
And Baz stop with the stereotyping of an Irish man.
I’m actually a Shepherds Bush geezer ?.

20 Jul 2022 19:28:36
ooh I was in Caleta last week Cork - beautiful part of the world. Enjoy :)
