Interesting how things tend to go wrong with Leeds transfers. We always seem to get players on the way down never on the way up unless they come through our academy. Orta was at Middlesborough but by the end the fans were glad to see the back of him. We get Bamford one good season but then drops right down the pecking order at Middleborough so we buy him. Forshaw looks to be a decent signing but like Bridcutt before him develops injury problems. Douglas plays well for Wolves drops down the pecking order. We buy him and he has a few good games. Form drops off and he develops injury problems. Costa plays well for Wolves but form drops off and, according to fans, he gets a bit lazy. We buy him. Looks lethargic and form is definitely average at the very best. Tyler Roberts was injured when we bought him and he seems to have been injured ever since. When he has played he hasn't been great. Add those to all the other players that never made the grade and its a sorry picture. The one player that we identified and agreed terms with was D. James and look what happened there. Hernandez is the only player who was past his absolute best when we bought him and who has made a positive and valuable contribution. Unfortunately I think time is catching up with him. Not holding my breath this window. We might get someone in but I would bet its not anyone that's in form or not injured.

As Bamford ever had 1 good season, 11 in 47 at boro (less than 1 every 4 games) Mk Don's in league 1 his best season, league 1 exactly

As the transfer window runs down the nearer the bottom of the barrel we seem to scrape. Thought the young winger from Manchester city was coming to Leeds last week and would be signed by last friday, where is he? Italy i have heard.

It's the distinct lack of planning that grinds my gears. The January window is tough but those clubs that plan in advance manage to bring in players before the final day. We appear to plan to select a target, but we put our eggs in one basket, there appears to be no option B, C, D. When that deal falls through we then scratch around stinking of desperation and clubs try to take advantage i. e. Watford with Andre Gray. I wouldn't mind if the transfers were down to the manager or Chairman as they have other tasks to juggle, but we employ Orta specifically to do this job. Money for old rope.
