It never ceases to amaze me how so many Leeds fans can continue to attempt to justify the actions of a series of lousy owners who have consistently sold off our best young talent . I don't need to name them all here as we all know who they are . Sold for peanuts by unscrupulous owners . A number of whom have then gone on and played for England and worth embarrassing multiples of the sold for price . Whilst £10 m plus blah blah might sound a lot, in the modern game it's still peanuts . This kid is barely 18, at 17 he was coming on and winning top end Champ games virtually single handed . Ok his stamina was questionable and he tailed off after his illness, but anyone with half a football brain can see this kid is pretty unique and time and continued physical development, may be just over this Summer, would have sorted the fitness issues . Gary Lineker with no bias whatsoever included him in a list of English bright young things, including Foden, Hudson - Odoi, Sancho etc . Why even say it doesn't matter, Shack is better anyway . Last time I counted there were eleven spots available in a football team .

Other tedious, predictable excuses include the following -

1 . He only played a few games . So what the kid could have made a real difference next season after a Summer's growth and physical development and another preseason . Plus what about the next few seasons, including if back in the prem .

2 . We need the money to invest in the here and now . Excuse me but look at this regime's track record in the recruitment department . It's frankly pathetic! Who have they bought or borrowed for that matter that actually had a nailed down place in the first eleven . I'll tell you shall I, two players, Klich and it's only been for a season and Alioski who is one of the most frustrating players in the team . All the regular first teamers are former academy players like KP, or already here ( Pontus, Pablo, Ayling, Roofe, Cooper, Berardi etc ) . As for the long list of absolute garbage purchased or borrowed its quite ridiculous . So why should any sensible person have any faith that things will be different this time around? Pray tell!

3 . Oh but we are a championship club, everyone knows they are loss making and what about EFL FFP rules . I don't want to sound too much like Wex here ( sorry Wex! ) but something must be seriously wrong, negligent or down right fraudulent if a club making £40 m plus in revenues ( largest in the league stripping out parachutes ) , plus no longer rents its ground and has already sold Chris Wood, Charlie Taylor, Ronaldo Viera and now JC for serious money, can't at least break even . We've all seen extracts from the accounts . Large " admin " fees! Either seriously poor and expensive recruitment on the largely garbage brought in ( transfer fees, salaries, agents etc ) or just Rads etc taking out large salaries and other forms of pilfering and milking the cow . Finally, if we really do need the money and Radz is as potless as he seems, then bloody sell to QSI or one of the other interested groups!

4 . Spanish will of course wheel out the frankly tiresome now and hackneyed, quote unquote " well if he's going, Bielsa must be ok with it as otherwise he wouldn't be here and with respect RHC, I trust his judgement over yours " . This argument is of course designed to belittle and condescend as I find many of the poster of the year's posts tend to be these days, albeit in his usual disarming matey way . Let's look at the facts shall we . Since MB came on board none of " his " signings have been a resounding success . As Spanish himself says " jury still out " on Bam and Douglas . The loanees were all an embarrassment and Casilla virtually single handedly blew our season for us . Furthermore, as we all know MB is a short term appointment and may well only be here for another season . So if he can get in some loans that might get him over the line this time around, he might well be prepared to sell a young gem . But we will all be here this time next year and hopefully if still breathing in ten years time . We needn't be such short term opportunists .

It seems our Owner, like Owners before him just can't resist when an offer comes in. For me, the Clarke deal, in today's market, if for what ever reason we have to sell, we should have been driving a harder bargain with Spurs than what we are reportedly getting.

That’s put me in depressed state rhc. Remind me not to invite you to any of my parties! Hopefully Spanish will uplift us with a more measured realistic response! Think I’ve lost the will to live! Roll on another relegation battle this season!
By the way I think we had to sell Clarke, fair price in my opinion after only 4 starts, to enable investment in other players whilst keeping within FFP rules and I’m sure Bielsa would have okayed it! 😂go on then, just one more pint!

Changed the villa games that’s it! And wex u say we will see another mainstay go, Clarke wasn’t a mainstay . Clarke made a name himself because he took villa apart . What about all the other games he didn’t make a difference. Think a lot of people are looking thru rose tinted specs because he is a young Leeds academy player . He can and will be replaced.

Axe Don't think we actually sold Taylor. He left on a "Bosman" I believe and his fee of around £7m was set by tribunal. You'll recall he refused to play the final game of the season to ensure an injury wouldn't scupper his medical.

Axe think you are suffering with selective memory syndrome . If you have some time take a look at my recent posts on my profile . Only “ negative ״ on lack of investment in first team and sale of JC . Placed Radz above a number of other owners in a recent analysis and praised him for a number of things . But don’t act like selling our best players has to be a fact of life because it needn’t be .

he was great when he sold he sold so high no one could complain he got more for Moccorack (who did nothing once he left and only had one good season) and Chris wood than Rads has for two of englands britghtest talents in veria and clarke. and the market has inflated in last few years. Cellino would of got 30 million plus for both.

Of course i agree with all the negitivity on here but the signs can only been seen as worrying

i called the clarke transfer in november after speaking to spurs scout who admitted souting leeds loved clarke and hated phillips. he said clarke the most exciting british talent he has seen since giggs. with that in mind from the expert 10 mil ain't great is it?
