I don't think any Man City fan I have spoken to have had any doubts about the "Saudi money" that has got them were they are.
Dont know any Chelsea fans (who does) but I doubt they care about the "Russian money"
I am in the pragmatic camp. Whatever we have to do to make us more competitive we will have to do. I doubt any investment money anywhere if totally stainless.
{Ed001's Note - Man City have nothing to do with the House of Saud or Saudi money. It is Abu Dhabi + a bit of Chinese money that owns them.}

My point was just about me not believing any investment comes without a degree of stain on that money.
{Ed001's Note - no worries mate, just being a bit pedantic. There is a clear distinction that needs to be made between Saudi, Abu Dhabi and even Dubai, despite Abu Dhabi rulers and Dubai rulers being related, they are not working together in sport. A fair number of the Dubai family support Liverpool, hence why they tried to buy the club off David Moores, so they are certainly not backing Abu Dhabi's dominance!
Anyone's money, even your own, is unlikely to be totally clean, money passes through so many hands. So it is difficult to stand on a moral soapbox on this, it would just be nice if clubs were what they are supposed to be and belong to the fans, rather than being businesses, but this is the real world and it is never nice.}

Dont care where the money comes from so long as it buys success. I may however grumble about trying to get a season ticket at the new 70,000 seat Elland Road. Even more having to buy my Long Haul tickets to watch the Champions league Finals.
