People talk about doom mongers, leeds played arsenal, bielsa as manager we were in championship at the time, and battered them in the first half, granted lost the game but it wasn't 5-0, it's all about coaching and belief, neither of which was apparent against arsenal.

That Arsenal was not the same level as the current one. They finished with 56 points that season. (8th) , 33 points behind Liverpool.

Mes, had one his best games that night.

Whatever happened to the euphoria of winning the league last season and becoming a Premier League Club? 2 games in and the plot has been lost!
As for the post that our chairman Parag is clueless by LLF, well that’s ludicrous in itself!
We seem to be back to sack DF, sack the board and our transfer window has been crap!
I’m 100% with Staffs White on this one, doom and gloom is not good, opposing opinions and debates is great, but not the other, it’s going to be a long long season on here if we are going back to those negative dire posts again!
We should be embracing the leap up into the elite league and the potential for growing into a premiership regular, it is NOT going to happen straight away, our aim was to avoid relegation yet some on here are behaving like we wanted to win the bloody league!
Go online and listen to what we were singing while being 4-0 then 5-0 down and £200 down, we didn’t start singing sack DF, sack the board, oh no we kept on right till the end singing for our team!
ALAW MOT ALWAYS ??.

Spot on Woody.

Bang on Woody ? The fact is, we will lose many more games this season than last season, and to think otherwise is misguided in my opinion.
We are in the Premier League and that is fantastic, what we all wanted, so let’s enjoy the ups and downs without the ‘End of the World’ scenario being played out every time we lose.
I think the window has been a great one, and I think a couple more this week will cement a squad good enough to compete and stay in the league.
If in November we are losing every week, and against teams we believe we should be competing against, then I will understand people calling for change, but not after 2 games and 1 defeat, against arguably one the best 2 teams in the league and probably top 5 teams in Europe!

Putting aside the score, the defensive stats weren't too bad but Arsenal's offensive stats were far ahead of ours. Forward passes, accuracy, etc. They had five on target shots and scored from them all.
The recruitment we've made has imoroved the squad but one problem that hasn't been resolved is up front. DCL and Nmecha have added depth if they stay fit but we still miss that top class striker and playmaker. Hopefully that will be resolved this week.
As Woodster pointed out, we're not going to win the league or even finish in the European slots. This year is about staying up, consolidating our Premier League status and building on it. One defeat to a good Arsenal team won't define the season. What we need to do is worry less about the current elite and take points off those teams who are likely to be around us at the end of the season-Burnley, S/ land, Wolves, West H, Brighton, Brentford, etc. it's results against them that will define our season.

On the nose Woodster!

26 Aug 2025 09:34:30
I don’t think any of us apart from vid expected to win. And it’s 100% right to focus on taking points off those that will be around us.
It was the manner of the defeat, the selection and the subs.
I for one think we coulda done a better job. Coulda played better.

I do agree Aus, I questioned Gruev ahead of Longstaff, Pascal ahead of Bijol and Piroe ahead of Nmecha due to the size of their back 4.
I hope and believe these selection questions will be ironed out over the coming games and will have the right team on the pitch.

Hopefully lessons are being taken on board and perhaps tonight DF might experiment with the line up, as SW aren't in the best of nick and give us a bit of leeway in terms of personnel and tactics.
Personally, I'd like to start Bijol alongside Rodon, as I presume they are going to be our first choice CB pairing. JB and GG at full back, as GG needs plenty of minutes to acclimatise.
Give Longstaff the nod in CM, with Ao and Anton either side.
Up top, I'd go for Okafor and Willy either side of Nmecha.
Calvert Lewin and Justin to debut from the bench, along with Gruev, Gray, James, Piroe, Crew, Snowdon, Byram and Darlow.
Wednesday fans are supposed to be boycotting the game in protest at the owner, so maybe our away fans could show some solidarity with our Yorkshire brethren, as if anyone knows about having odious owners, it's us!
And we're, All Yorkshire Aren't We?! ;-)
MOT.

26 Aug 2025 11:19:05
I agree with lots in there Ady!
I'd hope that Leeds fans at the match do dish it out to the Wendy Board. Their running of that club, as it has been with ourselves at times, has been utterly disgraceful. In this instance, it's definitely All Yorkshire Aren't We!?
