Looks like Schmidt wants to leave now which will give the recruitment team more work to do to find a replacement for him. Don’t think we should rely solely on on a semi crocked Byam to cover both RB and LB positions.
The reality is Schmidt is a young ambitious player but it doesn’t look likely that he will be claiming Bogles position any time soon., even though he looks promising.

A real loss to the team if Schmidt goes, and a bit of an unusual move to Leeds to agree to let him leave when we need cover back there.
Byram isn't a replacement for Schmidt.

I don't even think he's looked that good when he's played. All huff and bluster. It's a lesson for the board this one imo. If the gaffer doesn't want him, don't sign him.

Brighty - if you’ve got an impression that it’s all huff and bluster, it’s probably just the lad’s desperation to prove himself to Farke in the pitifully small amount of time he’s been given on the pitch. He’s actually a decent player. If Byram, who Farke put his total trust due to their established player/ manager relationship, hadn’t been here, Schmidt would have had far more opportunity to show what he’s actually capable of.

Agree clue. I was impressed with him everyone he was on the pitch in whatever position. I’d go as far as to say that mostly when he was on the pitch, he was our best player at that time. Clearly a Farke issue here. Bit of a Shame cause lad can play.

Agree Schmidt is an international player of decent quality who has not been given a chance, it's a shame but can't blame him wanting to leave and you guys are correct Bryan is not sufficient cover for one position never mind 2.

Schmitt has shown nothing to say he was a good buy IMO.
Always seemed to have to think what to do rather than just be instinctive. No loss.

I suspect had Aaronson only cost us £7 million and not the outrageous £25 million he would have been released quick smart and although I truly hope I'm made to eat my words and Aaronson surprises us all I think the owners are hoping BA can look like he belongs in the EPL and his market value increases because atm I can't imagine any club would want to splash more than £7 million on the fella so a big PSR loss.

Schmidt never got a look in but he's played at a decent level. The problem is that we have two FB's who are going to be playing the majority of the time. Byram can cover but has injury issues so we need at least one more FB if Schmidt goes. So you buy bench warmers who're not as good as your two main men, will play very little and then get criticism when they do come on and don't perform.
I know Farke likes to run with a small squad but the Premier League is completely different to the Championship in intensity and I think we want decent cover who we can trust because there will be injuries and fatigue and rotation will be important.

I don't get why some of you are so keen on Schmidt? I've seen every minute he's played for rhe first team, live when it comes to home games and I've watched him off the ball and he's shown absolutely nothing. Barely gets over half way when he plays full back. I've got nothing against the lad, I'm sure he does his best but he just doesn't have the talent for the Championship, never mind the Premier League. What am I not seeing?

Well really lads if you look at Schmidt, on YouTube he does nt look half bad, he can hit the ball he s pretty energetic, and doesn’t look bad but what you ve got to remember he s had no game time, and your saying he has nt really gone over half way line, but is that what he s been told you surely can t judge him off what he’s done because if you watched him before coming to us he played wing or left back for club and country, so I don’t think he s that bad, and the other thing is farke, wanted him but has nt played him, so again is it something there, because we will see if mr farke, is any good this year when he s got to pick the team, who do you leave out stach, long staff, griev, amps, and mr tanaka, then struick, rodon, bijol, bogle, guds, and he s also bringing in more so good luck, and like I’ve said before you can t keep everyone happy.
