Ed’s What do you think about the European Super league proposal, Realistic or not?
With a proposed 6 Billion pot sounds like the money might there, but would all the elite clubs want to join?
Sounds a case of just the rich getting richer in my book!

{Ed001's Note - it is worrying, there is plenty of money there.}

Agree1 Disagree0

Not entirely sure what the commercial basis for such a so called competition would be. It would be a total irrelevance in any true competitive footballing sense and of very little interest to any true football fans. Surely relevance and fan engagement would be among key metrics to be considered by any potential sponsor etc.

I notice that the top German clubs such as Bayern Munich aren't supporting it Ed001 ; is that because their fans part own the club?

{Ed001's Note - yes.}

The home games would be like champions league games every week and the away games would need you to take 3 days off work so can’t imagine many away trips.

No relegation means no real competition for anyone not challenging for the title and then the bribery will start from the top teams.

It makes no sense to me at all.

I believe Man U, Man C, Liverpool and Chelsea have all provisionally signed up. From a financial point of view the clubs will want it, but will the fans. Away games would be very testing. The ideal of the working man following his football club will come to an end will it not. !

How will it impact on the premier league, will these teams be asking for games to be changed to fit their commitments to this new league. Is it a closed shop or do other teams get the opportunity to join. Can't see it working myself.

Wat makes me laugh is Arsenal and Spurs getting involved, both won't be in Champions league next season, so wat gives them the right to just walk into new super league.
Money money money, fans won't let it happen.

Do they still play in the Prem? If not then they cannot participate in neither the Europa Cup nor Champions league. If they are still in the League then will they play two teams? Will that be allowed? Which do they prioritise? If it's a closed shop what is the incentive in finishing high up in the league? What happens to the Super Cup? So many questions.

If they vote to leave, sod em. Go now. In fact you all disappear from the league as of June and as far as next year . We finished 4th so we are in the revised Champions League?

If they all leave it just means the next “big 6” become the new “big 6” in every league meaning it’ll be a champions league final of Leeds United v Torino for example. Players who leave for the new leagues should be banned from ever being allowed to sign back into our football and if they are banned from internationals we will all find out who plays for money and who plays football for the love and to make their families proud getting international recognition.

If 12-16 teams it means if every squad has 25 players it’ll take around 400 players out of the regular game, might mean the local lads who usually get missed because of the big name foreigners may get a chance anyway.
