Having a chat at work today about the one n only Jack Charlton.
His playing style came up and then the question of would his style of play, ie long ball work in the EPL today?

I'm actually still mulling it over. I'm not a coach but I do know football tactics evolve over time but sometimes, like the long throw, certain elements come back in to fashion.

What you reckon lads, could that style of play still work in today's game? Wilko played a similar way. Get the ball forward, win the knock down and then play your football in the final third.

I believe it would Corkey. Most teams these days are not very well set to defend it, which is why I agree with Farke's decision to utilise it a little more. I think it will pay dividends doing as much across the season.

Yikes, if DCL is our ticket to survival we are in trouble. I don't think anyone would call him prolific, it has been a handful of years since he got into double figures in prem and has missed more games than I've had hot dinners.

Not the answer for me but what is? IDK.

Hopefully DJ, not too serious after all, I’m not shocked though, I honestly do not think I’ve seen him run freely all season, Dublin he kept looking down at his foot and the bench were asking him if he was ok every time he was near.

He certainly appears a long way off his frighteningly top pace. season to date.

Need to get him fully recovered and pointless international breaks are not as hated this season if it gives our very thin squad much needed recovery time.

Horrible for any player to be injured, but half a dozen mild strains requiring a few weeks rehabilitation wouldn’t go a miss for the Spuds players in Europe this evening.

Sometimes wonder if i'm on a Leeds forum?
Anyhow we defended well and had some chances in that game. It was no surprise to me that the result was a nil nil draw certainly judging by our previous encounters with Newcastle.
My only gripe is with Harrison, again faultless for his efforts but he can not put a ball on point whether it’s a free kick, corner or a cross, he just doesn’t have it for me.
Really hope Okafor can assist or we get Solomon on the 11th hour of this transfer window.
Longstaff is improving and Bogle is for me our best player.
If Calvert-Lewin gets decent supply he will score goals that i'm sure of, but he needs decent supply from our flanks.
Happy with a draw today, we March onwards and Upwards.
