Wondering how people viewed Martinez antics on the penalty shootout? Professional shythousery? Or cheating hit should have been sent off?
It’s another situation that would never be permitted in the normal course of the game but most teams are doing it?
Just how it is now, or crack down on it and send a message.

Class for me it falls into the bracket, if we did it and won we wouldn't care, but done against us we would be fuming
The throwing the ball away is imo unsportmanship, but it worked.

That’s where I am Richie my brother was fuming saying the keeper should have been sent off!
Think it’s the modern game, Jesse thought it crosses the line but as you say if it’s going in your favour you would gloss over it!

The red normal hands the ball to the penalty taker don’t they? So in my opinion if a set piece is awarded during the game and the opposing player throws or kicks it away that’s a yellow card .
So yes a yellow card should have been given and the ref should have told him to get the ball .

Should have been sent off for me and ref should have taken control muxh earlier. Argiez showing their complete lack or class throughout the tournament but FIFA wanted to stage mansge the result and did so in a number of games including the final so what can anyone else do. Result a complete farce.

Agree Alf. Although argies football improved every game. Their class didn’t. Cheaters and divers unfortunately.
Having said that it was an entertaining final of good football and Spose good Messi won it in the end. Not a fan of him as a man but he played really well.

I don’t particularly like Martinez but you could say he is the reason Argentina are winners of the World Cup. Such fine margins in football as to whether you are a winner or a loser that it does come down to sadly that a bit of so called gamesmanship will make the difference.
