Was watching a game the other day and noticed there was a crate of drinks at each corner flag, then I remembered the world cup in Mexico when big Jack Charlton was managing republic of Ireland getting booked because the players were melting in 40 degree heat and the officials refused to allow the players to get water, how times have changed.
No towels to dry a ball off, quagmire pitches could go on and on good old days eh or were they.

I recall, back in the 1960s watching an Inter Cities Fairs Cup game, can't recall who against, when standing on the Kop we couldn't see the goal at the far end because of thick fog. We only knew when we scored when the fans in the South stand cheered. These days it'd have been abandoned.

With our finances being what they are I'm struggling to believe we will sign or loan anyone, that's not a criticism btw, I just think Mr Parag and Underwood may think we have enough to stay up and would be better off waiting until the summer window.

He attended the Millwall game soon after Gary Speed's death and laid a wreath on the pitch. Not seen or heard of him since. An excellent member of our Championship winning side. He also shone on his second spell in O' Leary's team despite suffering a serious injury on his second debut.

I have to ask, have we signed BA, s twin because over the last couple of games it must be a a different player. Let's be honest over the last 2 and a bit seasons BA has been crap, can't pass, can't score, can't assist yet he has been arguably out best player the last 2 games. I, as you may have noticed, been against him being fit to wear our beloved shirt, who knows I may even start to accept I have to change my mind about him.
Problem is why has he suddenly started to play after all those rubbish performance's, is it because he was dropped and now he knows he has to play instead of being 1st name on teamsheet go no apparent reason, anyway fingers crossed the new BA stays and the old BA has disappeared into the ether.

I think he’s been better lately because he’s staying on his feet more. Too often he’d go down looking for a free kick probably because he lacked confidence in himself. Now he’s laying it off quicker and his movement off the ball is excellent, although that was always good.
As you say Bri it has been some transformation and long may it continue.

I think your summary of BA over the last couple of years is a bit wide of the mark to be honest Old. Look at the video of all our goals from last season and you will be enlightened to see how many goals stemmed from him winning the ball back in dangerous areas. Not forgetting his 9 goals also, plus his assists.
He’s continuing this again this season, albeit at a higher level, at a higher level.
He’s frustrating I grant you, but he’s a lot better than many give him credit for.

Oldbri, I think if you asked the Everton fan about us buying DCL thay would be saying the same thing about him don’t waste your money he’s rubbish now look at him, it’s like BA had a few bad games that hit his confidence got criticised by all, tried his best but carried on to become a great asset to the team how long it last.
{Ed025's Note - hes a good player Whiteman and could be a great asset for leeds mate, its his fitness record that worried the Everton fans and he does have spells where he cant hit a bulls arse with a banjo, but when hes on song hes as good as anyone out there imo..
