Cairnes never expected to play - just brought in for low PSR impact. Quite a few teams are making similar moves with a 3rd keeper.

Let's hope we get an offer for willy, he was poor last night yet again and this was against a div2 team, has he got his eyes on Saudi league? Anyway I would definitely not be the slightest bit concerned if he left, the way he has been performing he should be lucky to play.
As for MJ, I believe he still has the potential but he needs telling to relax a little he is trying too hard at times and this is affecting his judgement. He is a bit like BA loads of industry but lacks the killer instinct and I know I know BA has scored a few but a lot of tap ins it's his outside the 6yard box shooting that let's him down.

They are still very young. Willy has just had one of those seasons so far. Lots of industry but not much to show for it. A couple of shots rattling the woodwork and another few missed with last minute blocks. Just not had a good run of productive games. He is at the start of a long contract so maybe he is feeling the pressure of new expectation.
Also his big mate cree has left may have knocked his confidence a little.
All have a number of years of development still.

Sorry Ben, willy is an Italian international player if he is that upset because someone has left that it is affecting his game then he should not be playing, he is not 17 and although I agree he has many years to go we cannot afford to wait 2 years for him to get his act together. He is being paid a lot of money and had not justified his inclusion in the team generally, he needs to either buck up or bog off.

Oldbri. Young players sometimes have dips in form that's how things go. Consistency come with age and experience. And he his only a full international because the previous Italy manager was keen to play him. Normally he would have been waiting for his call up.
I think expect too much from 20 something players. They are not all archies.

I was looking forward to seeing Schmidt starting. He did okay. Wasn’t as offensive as I was hoping, but he was pretty solid. Always looked assured. Certainly one of the better players on the field tonight. Manor played well. Good ball in for the goal. What has happened to Gnonto? Probably needs to move on. When you think of the kid cutting inside and firing in a great goal at old Trafford, and his recent performances. Obviously has bags of ability, but he’s not been on his game for a while. Joseph not only lacking in composure, lacking in ability I’m afraid. He’s always there, but normally has a terrible first touch. Like BA, he needs to just try settle down but it’s not something you can coach a player. Saying that, if he wasn’t there against Preston, we wouldn’t have equalised in the last minute. He’s still a young player, so wouldn’t write him off.

Why buy a striker? we already have more goals than any other team. You answered your question concerning a midfielder, we don’t need one.
If anything, we need tightening up our defense, it our weakest zone in my opinion.

Op I would like an experienced no. 9 on loan to play as an alternative to piroe. As the blackburn game shows we need someone to rough defenders up and hold the ball up piroe doesn't offer any of that. Mj is still too raw at the moment but does hold the ball better than piroe.
Goal keeper is a tricky spot to fill because you can move to a new club and then not play for months. Everyone is looking for game time if they move at this time of the season.
As I've said before mes is a talented lad but his confidence and decision making is off. Maybe his confidence has not fully recovered from our bad season in the prem.
He seems a split second too slow. Whether it is second guessing himself.

Totally agree Ben, as a GK Mes is quite good the main area of concern, for me, is his decision making. For straightforward corners he elects to punch not catch yet for a simple looping shot he tries to catch not palm over. As for his being caught in no mans land and being lobbed well that has happened to many a keeper and before I whip him I must remember all the times he has saved us in one on ones by rushing out. There are many things a coach can amend, hopefully this is one. With that and experience I think we will see a future France GK. Wether that is with us, that is yet to be seen.

It will take steel from our manager and he could upset a professional goal keeper earning £100,000’s but tricky?
Ilan saves per 90 = 1.4 (24th in league)
Current save % =66.1% (18th in league)
Goals prevented = -1.7 (17th in league)
Farke has created this issue (even though I understand he was trying to rediscover the lads confidence and form) and I would include constantly talking up Ilan and our back up keepers has just created more noise and frustration as the proverbial has hit the fan.
If goalkeeper is not our number one priority this window, or we fail to sign a fully capable replacement (remembering our keeper faces the fewest shots against in the whole division) then this will indicate to me personally a great deal with regards Farke and our current owners.

Not bringing in a striker, CB, goalie or any of the 3 will hinder our promotion chances. I still think we will get promotion but it will depend on others dropping points rather than in our own hands. I agree with Baz on points 2 and 3, Kinnear is hopeless how the hell he got to be CEO is beyond me but the board overall are seriously lacking ambition if they are relying on the current squad to get promotion.

Gman was not comfortable last night he is not a CB definitely in my opinion needs playing as DM he was slow and easily outplayed even by a team we should have controlled easily and that is no disrespect to Harrogate who played very well last night had their attack been as good as their defence we would have been in trouble. Solly was definitely on the ball but I was more impressed by Issac who was excellent and should be given a run in my opinion not that it will happen as DF will put Bogle straight back in. Darlow (ego I have criticised in the past) had a good enough game to keep his place.
Anyway onwards and upwards we are looking good just now.
Last thing is I still believe we need a striker Bambi will never return to the player he once was and MJ for all his efforts is at this moment not good enough, that leaves Piroe only, if he is injured we are struggling in that department.
