Can somebody explain the handball rule to me please. I mean it was accidental and unavoidable but it was hand ball.
Commentators said if he had scored it would have been disallowed. Happy it was a goal but confused.
Okafor got some passion there. Always at the crowd.

Agree1 Disagree0

I believe the ref has discretion to let it pass as unintentional if it hits another part of the body first and then bounces onto the hand, which is what happened here - except if in the penalty box when any ball/ hand contact must not be allowed. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

That's more or less correct JR. Also makes a difference if it is the goal scorer or not. In this case the player alleged to have handled it wasn't the goalscorer so it was ok. Had Okafor been the one to handle it then the goal would have been ruled out.

But it was a LEEDS player surely that is a lifetime ban for Bogle, and 26pts deduction?

Loved hearing Rosenior bleating afterwards about all you want in football is logic applied to decision making and fairness!

Like valuing your women’s team more than Leeds United and selling them to your own company or flogging a hotel to yourself or circumnavigating transfer rules with “swaps” from feeder club Strasbourg, cheats never prosper.

How about praising our away fans trailing 2-0 down what do they do sang on about we marching on together and loving LEEDs till they die fantastic you all are they help Leeds last night what did Chelsea fans do being 2-0 up nothing and for the commentator, Mr. Merson saying game over at two eat your words.

Yes the away fans are amazing.

Handball offence is committed when a player (except the goalkeeper in their own penalty area) :

- deliberately touches the ball with their hand/ arm
- touches the ball with their hand/ arm when it is in a position that makes their body unnaturally bigger and that position is not the result of their body moving fairly as part of play
- scores a goal against the other team with their hand/ arm or scores immediately after the ball has touched their hand/ arm (even if the touch was accidental)

There is also proximity, if the ball ricochets of another part of the body and hits the arm, or if a player is on the ground being supported by his arm and the ball hits that arm, it is not handball.

Again they are laws and therefore interpretation of said law is accepted. VAR will only interject if the center ref has made a 'clear and obvious error' when it's outside the 18 yard line.

Glad it went in our favour .

Rosenior can kiss my white Leeds arse.

Fairness? Like a Chelsea player collapsing like Jenga tower in gale force winds and being awarded a penalty, yet GG was ragged to the ground and didn't get a pen because he went down too easy?

Keep sulking you linkedin twonk.

Didn't hear him complaining when Palmer handled the ball in their area when attempting a clearance!

Liam who?
Although he is benefiting a new manager bounce period, in twelve months or less from now, I can’t see him living up to the very high expectations of Todd Boehly and co. and will be surplus to requirements.
Just an another young coach who thinks he can take a short cut to the top.
??.
