Well looks like Palace are falling apart, and maybe ready to join the relation party . Their only remaining forward now wants out . worth a punt to weaken an opponent?

The market reckons Mateta is worth £40M, (the same as they say for Strand Larsen) , but as those allegedly chasing him include Aston Villa and Juventus he's likely out of our reach. However, Palace are only 3 points ahead of us, their manager is at odds with the club heirarchy, and they still have the UEFA Conference league to worry about, so catching them up has to be a real possibility.

While I share your view that we could have done with fresh legs sooner, it was 2 mistakes from Tanaka (our fresh legs) that cost the goal. Missed simple pass when he would have put BA clean through and then failed to block the cross.

He’s the second highest paid player at the club behind DCL. It’s a hard one to fathom for probably the worst player in our squad.
They should be very active in trying to offload him asap.

Who wants him at his current wages and his level of performance over the last three years or so? Unless he takes a big hit on his salary and we let him go for a small fee then he'll be loaned out for the next three years with an option to buy (which won't be taken up) and Leeds making a significant contribution to his wages.

The problem with selling him for much less than we bought him for, it will have a negative effect on our profit and sustainability.
I believe the club will offload him at a loss, but it will be a question of timing.

We've certainly signed some great players from Swansea over the years, amongst them the greatest Welsh footballer of them all John Charles. I was lucky enough to see him in the last season before we sold him to Juventus for £65,000 - he'd probably be worth £250,000,000 now.

Rather then slate Perri for the goals scored against us, I felt our defence were as much to blame, with plenty of fannying around the ball inside the box instead of hoofing it away up the pitch

Absolutely ridiculous to blame Perri definitely our defending to blame for their first goal.
Thought all our players played with passion and strength, they never stopped, stunning performance, just a shame we were on the losing end of that game.
Aaronson’s performances are outstanding, he really is turning into one of our best players now, incredible turnaround from him.
Totally gutted that we didn’t at least get a deserved draw out of that game, can’t see us getting relegated if we can keep this up.

90+12 their winner. Latest goal in PL history. An absolutely sickening result, thoroughly deserved a point. How it went on that long is beyond me. And, what an harsh decision for their penalty. We must now register a win against Fulham in the next game, or we will still be in the mix at the bottom.
The teams above us, are pulling away. Bournemouth 4 points in front of us now. So, we need a win to draw them back in.

Regarding the added on time, I've always thought they should take responsibility for timekeeping away from the ref and have a seperate timekeeper who starts and stops the clock (on display to all) on signals from the ref, and sounds a hooter when time is up as in Rugby League.

Vid, I think the main expectation is not on individual performances but on how the team reacts and doesn't in pressure games - which one could ague they all are pressure games. But if yesterday is any inclination of what's to come we are in trouble.
Once again at half time we laid down tools and gave in, not one or 2 players that people want to point the finger at, but the entire team just quit playing - just like the games up to Chitty. That is more worrying than how much we spent or didn't spend.

I think we all need a slice . but the question still remains what prompted the change against chity and why that game, why did it take him so long to change .
As for BA - same thing what happened for him to start playing, yes he has an engine, but he had no sense of what to do with the ball - now a player has emerged .

If I was being critical, it would not be the goalie - way too many crosses coming in from the right side and the defense is at sixes and sevens trying to cover and get out . we give up the goals within 8 minutes of scoring them . not the goalies fault.
