I think the type of player we are now sorely missing is a hardworking, consistent No 10 who is, most importantly, fully tuned in to Pablos wavelength. Samu was like that (at times) but just not enough. He set up play with his tricks and flicks but just not enough and he chipped in with the odd goal, but just not enough. Maybe this new rumoured name iturraspe is just such a player. If he is then grab him now!

for me it is a batty paul ince type.

We are great when things are good (last night and west brom) but when things ain't coming off we need some legs in the engine room, some one who can play ugly, break up play and protect the back four to stop games like QPR happening.

13 Mar 2019 12:01:16
That's what the Yorkshire Pirlo does 😁.

The only thing Leeds are missing is Dan James and the only thing Berm is missing is a tattoo. Actually, not so sure about the accuracy of the second "only" but you get the gist.

Can’t even accept Batty and Mince in the same sentence. As AL says, Yorkshire Pirlo does that job already. I think Tyler will grow into the 10 role, and has done great there for the last 2 games.

Iturraspe is more of a defensive mid so probably more of a backup to Phillips if we go up.

Reckon Foden on loan for a season could do wonders with Bielsa.

Agree George.
Love batty. Hate ince. But nothing wrong with our players or their ability.
Bielsa relies on attack being the best line of defence. If we sacrifice an attack minding player for a batty type.
Then whole team structure and tactics have to change.

we all know my thoughts on the yorkshire pirlo. If leeds had a prilo last night it was our maruding left back with his great diagaonals. Can't be sure but would put money on KP having the fewest touches of the ball yesterday although he didn't play badly at all.

For me the most important role is a midfeild enforcer like Batty who wins ball then gives to others to play. I know leeds fans can't like man u players but i thought ince was a great player. I would say same for Roy keane but hate the man so much i can not acknoledge him as a footballer as he was just a scum bag

that would be my first protirty. that said Bub plays a different way and who am I to knock the footballing god that is bub? who if he gets us up and keeps us up would have to be considered one of our best managers ever surely?

I think he top 3 now.

It is no coincidence that our upturn in form has been linked to Phillips being played in the DM role. I am not saying he is the sole reason but he has certainly helped provide protection to the back four that Forshaw was not providing. KP continues to run close to player of the year for me, along with Jansson and Hernandez (Cooper has also greatly improved this season) .

Sheriff Pablo player of year no question but from what I'm seeing Bamford will run the runners-up to that award close. His movement best I've seen in a Leeds shirt in years. He's creating space for midfielders to flourish which plays into the hands of our style perfectly. Bamford drags defenders away. He's class. If he stays fit, we're up in George opinion.

George! ! Steady on old chap, you're starting to sound as optimistic as my good self 😁.

13 Mar 2019 17:58:29
Agree George but basing it upon the amount of games in the season played.

13 Mar 2019 18:15:35
Kemar has been a giant this season his goals early in the season have us where we are now.

13 Mar 2019 20:12:00
Agreed Wex. I was never a Roofe fan but he won us many points this season with great finishing and tireless running. Bamford has carried it on and really looked the business. I’m loving the roses in my garden.
