Good morning lads. Just watched the game. Did bussleton jetty swim at the weekend so unable to watch live. A slight improvement from us i thought. We played semi well for a few bits of the game. Few iffy ref decisions. Prob deserved the draw. Quite a lot of improving still needed but we had more passion and whole team put effort in. Lacking in quality in few areas and roofe, sacko, okane, phillips don't seem to have the ability needed. Hopefully viera regains his mojo. Saiz to come back and tyler lass and eukaba to fight it out for frontline. Optimistic without being completely happy.

1.) 12 Feb 2018 13:47:14
how did your swim go Aus? How far was it?

2.) 12 Feb 2018 22:56:56
Its a long jetty alf. Ha ha. From beach. Round jetty to beach finish is 3.7km. Bit choppy for a while. First go at it. 1 hr 22 min. Well chuffed with the time. Would jave been happy with 1 hr 45 lol.

3.) 13 Feb 2018 08:49:13
Quicker than it takes lassy to get from box to box

09 Feb 2018 00:41:59
Think lassoga is a luxury we can't afford atm. For the amount of touches he has during a match and the little he does with them i'd use him as a last 15min sub at best. Hoping new boy shines with roofe or eukaba and we don't have to use lassoga at all. Way over rated.

1.) 09 Feb 2018 07:28:52
Perhaps Hecky will be able to get more out of him. I believe Lasogga could be a player if he starts to use his size to bully defenders a bit more - that's what i would be looking to coach into him. Roberts unlikely to start based on the press conference comments yesterday but could be on the bench. Hecky has been an admirer of Roberts so I daresay he has a few ideas of how he would like to play him which could be very tasty.

2.) 09 Feb 2018 07:39:23
He is Aus, maybe PH can get something out of him TC couldn't, afraid he's our 'best' option till Ekuban is fully fit.

3.) 10 Feb 2018 13:44:23
Good post as usual Aus. Your normal service has resumed.

4.) 10 Feb 2018 15:25:17
One of his better games today. Led the line well. Won a few headers for once, and held the ball up well. Great finish for our goal after great work from Pablo.

07 Feb 2018 00:26:58
Im in the, give the guy a chance camp. He has come in at a difficult time. i'd like at least a point from sheffield, but he has a seriously diminished squad. Hoping he goes for a bit of pace up front. Give tyler a chance. Rest alioski for dallas. Drops lassoga. Put eukaba back in if fit. can't really judge him at least until he has pontus, berahdi and saiz back.

In the meantime i'm hoping he has a good look at potential benchers from u23s. Our defense is short of a picnic atm so best form of defense is attack. Hard fast constant flows of attack. Over to you pauly! In regards to leeds comments when he was a lad. Grow up boys. Sticks and stones He will be chuffed to be given this opp and will work his socks off.

Oh and it worked last time so, ORTA OUT!

1.) 07 Feb 2018 01:12:43
Any post that says Orta OUT gets a thumbs up from me!

2.) 07 Feb 2018 02:50:48
I've been having a wee think. Not usual for me, I know, but nevertheless. Let's say, for argument's sake, that we have a quick and pronounced turnaround in fortune. Does that mean that our players are the goods and Orta was right all along and his vision was only sullied by TC's ineptitude. Don't know. I'm not saying this is the case but it is an interesting thought.

3.) 07 Feb 2018 06:07:47
If pauly turns our fortunes round using a lot of ortas signinings then humble pie mabe on the menu. But me thinks not!

4.) 07 Feb 2018 06:17:27
I'm inclined to agree with you, Ausman. Still, food for thought.

5.) 07 Feb 2018 08:17:15
Interesting Kiwi i like your thinking. Fans have been getting there backs up a lot with orta and maybe orta is sticking by his recruitment in saying well it sthe manager who isn't playing them right so he has to go. Really could see a 442 this weekend, and praying or grot to come good, grot and roberts could be lethal in a few years, just hope they both get used. i'm also sick of the 4231 now i think its boring and expected from leeds, let's mix it up, a 433 with an attaching midfielder maybe, perhaps you coudl have forshaw and vieira sitting with phillips supporting the striker, to wide men hugging the touchline, dallas was excellent in that second half, really impressed me he's something we've missed. hernandez cutting in from the left and whipping balls in. i'm really optimistic about this team again. I was always on the TC in bandwagon and keeping him for the season but I went to ER on saturday, and hull on tuesday, and both performances showed no clinical edge that we've had when saiz was available, and a lot fo what monk showed last year with wood up top. Since losing kyle bartley, jansson has gone quiet and hasn't had as good of a season, but that doesn't mean he can't turn it maybe a brutal manager is what we need. This man knows leeds and knows what they're about having had such a close link with them as a barnsley fan, manager, player, wednesday player, and seeing them in the championship for so long, i don't think you could have hired anybody more relevant that's got years ahead of him. The 18 month contract thing, i think that's a statement from him to say, if i can't get you up by then, ill go i'm not right for this, bt give me a full season in charge with my own recruits ill show you what i can do. I like this bloke, and i think he just may be a miracle.

6.) 07 Feb 2018 09:18:20
The problem with 442 or 433 is the midfield battle - with only 3 or 4 in there we can lose the battle and that is vital to the whole game. therefore 5 in the middle makes sense so that we can supply the forwards and help the defence. with that in mind and our depleted squad to consider I would be tempted (as another poster said yesterday i think) to play a 3-5-2. De Bock on the left side, Pennington in the middle and Anita on the right. Utilise Dallas as wing back on the left and Alioski on the right. middle three of Hernandez, Forshaw and Viera in the middle and a front two of any combination of Roberts, Roofe or Lasogga.

7.) 07 Feb 2018 09:19:21
Didn't Jansson get player of the month last month Samo? Return to form i would say?

8.) 07 Feb 2018 10:24:23
The 352 sounds appealing and i think jansson may be back fit so would be a better option than anita. Alioski works hard to track back, and I'd probably play him like you say, question is, where does this formation leave berardi, ayling, saiz, cooper, ekuban, when all fit and not suspended, suppose it enables us to have a really good bench. If i were to play a 352, and considering this a championship team again next season, i'd have wied, (think paul will bring in someone like bentley from brentford) jansson, ayling, berardi, dallas and de bock as wing backs, 2 holding being vieira and forshaw, hernandez as number 10, then saiz and roberts up top. However, i think the 3421 would better suit us, with hernandez, saiz, and roberts as the front 3, with dallas and de bock on the wings. I think alf got POTM in december yes alf but everyone knows he was a better overall player last year, 1 of 2 for the team of the season from leeds last year, bamba is more likely to get it than jansson this year as horrible as that is to say

9.) 07 Feb 2018 13:06:11
Jansson for Anita for sure, Saiz for Hernandez, Ekuban for Lasogga and the rest can play for their places with those in form keeping their spot. although with everyone fit I would go to a narrow 4-2-3-1 myself with the 3 pushing forward and looking to score goals and provide chances for Ekuban.

16 Jan 2018 00:46:54
Relax, all the posters on here that said there is always one team that comes from nowhere into the play offs and thought it could be us! Its not. Its fulham! Think we will be the team that flirts with top 6 the entire season and then misses out in last week. Wait. Wasnt that last season? As my previous post two days ago. Nothing changes! Fed up and bored of it. Hate losing. Hate under achieving. We just seem time and time again to get owners with the right intentions but not the knowledge needed to come good on them.

1.) 16 Jan 2018 04:39:10
Another good post. What's going on with you Aussie and all these excellent contributions? Dosage must be spot on finally.

{Ed001's Note - maybe he has been hacked?}

2.) 16 Jan 2018 05:51:39
Funny guys. Funny.

3.) 16 Jan 2018 07:13:11
Frustrates the life out of me Aus, we have been in similar positions to this before, notably the decent team Grayson had, last season also, with 2/3 quality signings we could really give it a good go, we have bought way too much quantity over quality, I have spent a fortune travelling to and from All the home and away games, and I will carry on doing it, I would however like us to show some ambition over the next fortnight and at least try to get the players to take us into the top 6.it's 15-16 months since we knew Taylor was going and we only just got a left back, let's hope it's not 15-16 months till we replace wood!

4.) 16 Jan 2018 13:12:23
Oh dear george and ed. 4 down. Maybe my reputation precedes me?

09 Jan 2018 01:27:04
It seems de bock might be our first, first teamer signing of the window. Its good we have bought a left back but sooo much more important to get striker. Midfielder and goal keeper. let's hope de bock is the first of the quartet. And please make 2 of the next 3 british experienced champ or ex prem performers. No more punts at cheap foreign mediocricy.

1.) 09 Jan 2018 03:32:11
Ausman This is your best post ever!

2.) 09 Jan 2018 03:58:34
Youve made me go all unnecessary george. i'm honoured to have your approval. Just goes to show you. I, unlike most of our squad, do not settle for second rate rubbish, but continuously seek improvement!

3.) 09 Jan 2018 11:05:47
Does Mrs aus know that?

Trying to process the information and developments. On questions like are the younguns coming good. Is the 5 yr plan starting to take shape. Has orta bought well enough after all. Has heck bought into radz plan? Is rad going to keep both of them. Who do we need to buy. Is next year the year when we keep a few of the good senior players. Blood four or five younguns and buy 2-3 good first teamers. And expect to finish mid table with a very young team? If this the case. Bfk. Connor. Pearce. Pontus plus 1. Forshaw. Viera. Plus 2 yonguns. Roberts plus a younun or new one. Still have sauz. Aluoski. Hern. Phillips. Berahdi. As back up. Poss roofe although lots will disagree. Then the following season push on. If this is the plan. I can put up with one more moderate season. But a little bit more info from radz etc would make me feel better. Or maybe his 5 yr plan changes every few months.

1.) 18 Apr 2018 09:26:39
Ed. Can you ban that thumb down geezer? Outrageous😄

{Ed001's Note - I was thinking of giving him a prize personally...}

2.) 18 Apr 2018 09:41:10
Now that's not nice! I feel persecuted. i'm thinking of sulking!

{Ed001's Note - that's good, that is exactly what I was aiming to achieve. It's not paranoia that makes you think we are all out to get you.}

3.) 18 Apr 2018 16:41:39
It's a sound post that one Aus, the first one that is! May it's a rolling fie year plan? Only another more five years, from August.

4.) 18 Apr 2018 17:13:34
Good post Aussie. I too am happy with the noises coming out of Elland Road and we seem to be slowly turning the juggernaut around. For me the keys are continuity at the top. Blooding of the young guns, now and the signings made in the summer. Even so I am beginning to fill with optimism for next season. Mind you I probably said the same thing at the end of the last three seasons.

17 Apr 2018 09:44:25
Keep reading and hearing people say. Sack heckingbottom now. Get a new manager in that can pick his team before next season. that's never going to happen. Whoever manages leeds will be given players for the team. He will have no say in the team. Therefore orta should go before the manager cause he has mainly picked dross. Heck should have done better with team but ortas fault first and foremost. And under radz this system will not change so any manager will have to get used to it.

1.) 17 Apr 2018 10:18:55
Orta should be taken before the Hague and tried for crimes against football.

2.) 17 Apr 2018 10:29:26
But a better manager would have this team in the top 6, just as TC did. They only look bad now as Heck turned us into Barnsley.

3.) 17 Apr 2018 10:51:58
So true Aus, that's why I laugh when people say give hecky a chance. judge him Once he has his own players in seonon. Reality check he will never have his own players in while it's set up like it is at the moment.

4.) 17 Apr 2018 11:47:06
No they wouldn't sg. This team is crap. Not saying heck is the answer. But players 80% rubbish.

5.) 17 Apr 2018 12:13:47
Spot on and that's why no manager worth his salt wouldn't take the job under this regime haven't a clue why Radz blames everybody else but himself and Orta

6.) 17 Apr 2018 14:01:37
Nonsense Aus. Besides most clubs in this league are bang average.

7.) 17 Apr 2018 14:10:30
If Orta has been tasked with signing players for less than £3m and less than £15k a week, what's he supposed to do? Anyway aren't Middlesbrough's better players signed by him? Traore is their best player and he also managed to temp Negredo and Fischer. He's an easy target. The complaint should be at Radz to show more ambition.

8.) 17 Apr 2018 14:28:27
Radz has no football brain. Orta can't spot a decent player ( anybody can get lucky once or twice out of 50 ) , Heck can't manage and the players can't play football. We are doomed. The buck stops at the top.

9.) 17 Apr 2018 16:16:36
Remember all those calling for Heckys head. The facts are; started Feb so not a full season in charge. Took on an already stalling team. Has not had any input thro a full transfer window and finally, under the present "Continental" system there are many managers who would walk away without full control. Sorry, and lastly I would caution to all those a mixed metaphor, be careful what you wish for, because the grass is not always greener.

10.) 17 Apr 2018 16:26:14
Leodis, why do you think we're not capable of getting a better manager than one with 10 wins in their last 63 Championship games? Besides if he can't handle the continental system, why on earth was he hired? Radz fell for the myth about needing an "English manager who knows the league. "

11.) 17 Apr 2018 19:14:34
I think the team had more than stalled Leo, it was already in free fall. But I agree, an old school "manager" would not want to work under this set up, which is why we have a coach. I also don't think that this structure will be dropped, and therefore nor will PH be dropped. We need some damned stability for a time!

12.) 17 Apr 2018 19:55:53
SG, didn't say we can't get a better manager but did say it was slightly unfair to judge Hecky at this stage. I did also say that many (better? ) managers would walk away from the "Continental" system which makes finding a better manager that much more difficult. This is one reason where I doubt the viability of Mick McCarthy. If nothing else he is a blunt Yorkshire man and highly opinionated. Maybe a good thing for an underperforming team but maybe a bit too abrasive for a Victor Orta type.

13.) 17 Apr 2018 23:25:05
I don't get why people want McCarthy so much. If the ambition is dull football and mid table finishes, then yes by all means, but I thought the club wanted promotion and good football.

14.) 18 Apr 2018 01:15:25
Nobody will have a say in who they want. So no need to give heck more time. He will never have a say. To be clear. i'm not sure whether i'd sack him now or not. This season has been doomed since way before he got here but he certainly hasn't improved it.

15.) 18 Apr 2018 05:56:39
Ausman agree100%, they should sack him now, don’t understand why Leeds can’t get a proper manager as som say,

14 Apr 2018 05:38:44
Make you laugh. couldn't sleep last night. Put tele on. Villa were playing. Man they were rubbish. Must be near the bottom of the table. They were playing some team in black. Must have been a cup game because the team in black were soooo funny to watch. Couple younguns were good but the rest were absolute appalling. Prob non league team. Fell asleep within 5 minutes.

1.) 14 Apr 2018 07:53:34
Yep Aus, that about right. Heard the team in black used to be a good club but that was long ago.

2.) 14 Apr 2018 08:02:21
Really? Funny. Must have been a long long while ago. They played like flat footed penguins!

13 Apr 2018 00:10:15
Villa are safely planted in 4th i reckon so nothing to play for. We should be playing for our futures and our amazing away support. 4-0 to villa then. Mess to radz. Do what you need to do before season ticket sales are available or you will prob only see 20,000 a game next year.

1.) 13 Apr 2018 01:44:49
As many as that Aus? Try 12,000. Pontus, Pablo and Saiz leave it could be less than that.

2.) 13 Apr 2018 07:13:09
Have the club announced how many have renewed? first time I haven't, I know a lot of season tik holders and if they are all being honest only 4 have renewed!

3.) 13 Apr 2018 16:36:28
Leeeeeds, 2 thumbs down for your post? Weren't you just stating a fact. Really think some on here don't get it or is someone from the club infiltrating this site.

4.) 13 Apr 2018 22:38:21
Renewed my ST, and so did everyone else that sits near me.

12 Apr 2018 03:21:12
Bw. Disagree with your keep and let go list way below. I think pretty much every player has had a bad season bar bfk and forshaw. To put berahdi and roofe in let go and keep lassoga is ridiculous. Eukaban. can't score. Lassoga. can't play football Grot. can't play football all are a waste of space. None of them will ever fit into the way we play. Roofe runs around. Works hard. Can pass a ball and scores. Not a main striker but easily the best of the 4.

{Ed001's Note - sounds a lot like Lassoga and Grot fit perfectly in the way you play these days!!!}

1.) 12 Apr 2018 07:03:40
Ed 01 the Pride of Devon fan just can't help it!

{Ed001's Note - ? What are you on about? Strange boy.}

2.) 12 Apr 2018 09:12:38
Funny ed. Not.

{Ed001's Note - awww Aus you know you love me really. Don't go all Harry Kane on me and demand I withdraw that comment and admit it was your joke all along!}

3.) 12 Apr 2018 09:36:14
Whilst on subject of harry kane. Can somebody explain the off side rule. I believe its a goalkeeper and a defender between striker and goal. So when the liverpool goalkeeper launches himself skywards and dives over 3 players. How is that man city fault. I know it came off milner. But if i hadnt. Its not man city fault liverpools goalkeeper misjudged the ball and a few players.

{Ed001's Note - it's two players between the goalline and the attackers, they do not have to be the goalie. Also, Milner has to be adjudged to have 'deliberately' played the ball for Sane to be onside. Personally I think Milner did deliberately play it, though he would not have wanted it to go that way, but that could be the get out clause the ref is using to explain his mistake.}

4.) 12 Apr 2018 09:41:30
each to their own Aus, as most know I have never been a fan of beradi but have moved from the He is ok but not great, to can't stand him camp. Working hard and being strong in tackle doesn't make up for mistakes, cards, poor positioning and being poor. Roofe is bit different I liked him and think he showed potential but this season has not kicked on. In every game I have seen him in he has done nothing. There have been a few games where roofe didn't touch the ball 75 minutes and offered nothing. Lassoag for me had been one of our best players this season, yes he misses a few, but he can drag us into games (millwall perfect example) his goals per minutes is nothing to be sniffed at and he can finish. many hated wood and I think lasossag could be same given chance. for me our worst player by a country mile is Phillips and has now made his way into the BW Hall of fame pony leeds 11

5.) 12 Apr 2018 10:25:33
Agree to disagree about berahdi and lassoga. And thanks ed. Its still offside if it inadvertantly goes off a city player though. Or is that always offside?

6.) 12 Apr 2018 13:29:05
i hate this interfearing with play rule it affected us against borough. if the guy in on the pitch wearing boots he is interfearing with play. they are worth millions get paid fortuines if on the pitch they better be intereafring with play! this said phillips must never be offside as i am yet to see him interfear with play, if it wasnt for the kit i would of thought he was a passive streaker or another official

7.) 12 Apr 2018 14:46:54
You not like phillips bw. We got to disagree again i think. Interfering with play has got to be a direct line between attacking player and goalkeeper! Just becsuse a defender who fell over on the sideline is the other defender dosent mean A it is off side and B it makes everybody interfering. Its far too defensive a rule. And one other thing whilst i'm at it. Can we please stop giving goalkeepers free kicks for A fowling an attacker. B falling over and C asking for one. They are generally taller than everybody else so if they can't catch a ball without falling over. Tough titties. Oh and. Any shielding of a ball to allow it to run out of play is obstruction. It should be a free kick. To allow a 6ft 90kg defender to prevent a 5 ft 5 65kg winger from getting the ball by shielding it. Has got to be obstruction. Same with corner flag time wasting. Bookable offense i reckon. let's make it simple. If you are the nearest player to the ball. Play the ball. God its late. Night night.

8.) 12 Apr 2018 14:50:18
wish some of our players would try interfering with play a bit more - we might get a result.
