30 on the US touring party, including Perri and three other keepers, eight juniors but Largie and Gelhardt not invited.

21 Jul 2026 20:27:34
Farke is at times infuriating.

Largie deserves a chance to shine .. as he did whenever he played for Leeds and indeed Valencia.

4

21 Jul 2026 20:36:19
Absolutely agree, Baz. He might be a squad player, but he adds some threat going forward. Sometimes you need a super sub.

2

21 Jul 2026 20:39:59
Largie dont fit, Baz. His attitude is the problem, and that is as important to this team as ability. Players are left out for a reason. At least DJ is going, eh dude. 😁

1

21 Jul 2026 20:44:58
Indeed, Dune, he does.

Another stubborn Farke error freezing out players (and them then being sold ridiculously cheaply) .

2

21 Jul 2026 20:49:23
This so called 'attitude' thing Davey is wayyy overplayed ..by Farkey.

A maverick player or 2 please at LUFC ...

Does the player have talent?
And
Is he performing on pitch?

2

21 Jul 2026 21:04:05
Read that he's injured.. In Farke we trust. 🤍💛💙

2

21 Jul 2026 21:11:38
This happens all the time. If a player has an attitude or fall out with the gaffer, he's off, and probably how it should be, and sometimes sold on the cheap.
We don't like to critique Wilkinson, but did exactly that with Cantona.

2

21 Jul 2026 21:27:56
MG

I love and adore Wilko, and I prioritize all his magnificent achievements in raising the Leeds United Phoenix from the Ashes.

But, man, that was his one huge kamikaze mistake, selling a maverick supreme talent in Cantona. and, worse still, selling him at the time to our closest rivals, Man U, fgs, and for a paltry £1 million, fgs.

Man U fans dined out on that for numerous years, and numerous EPL trophies, and Leeds United faltered quite a tad from champions status because of it.

Until Graham and the DOL era took over and improved matters again.

2

21 Jul 2026 21:41:53
I'm still smarting over it, Baz. 🤣

But for the record, I'm a Largie fan and would love him to stay.

2

21 Jul 2026 22:03:03
No Wober or Okafor either.

0

21 Jul 2026 22:07:55
Cantona went because he was bangin Leslie Ash, allegedly, apparently, maybe..

0

21 Jul 2026 22:43:01
Okafor on extended leave due to World Cup exploits. Chance for Gnonto to show if he is ever to reach his potential.

0

21 Jul 2026 22:51:38
Maybe they're working on a deal for him to go back to Valencia, or somewhere else. 🤞

0

21 Jul 2026 16:58:21
Summerville to Saudi for €80m!
Wet Spam are selling damn well this summer.
Wonder if they fancy Piroe for £30m 😂😂.

1

21 Jul 2026 17:31:55
Crazy money for Cree, that!

2

21 Jul 2026 17:34:36
Quite right, Dave. About £140m from two sales, even after they've paid the sell-on clause for Fernandez. And they've kept the rest of the squad up to now.
I think Piroe's going to see out his contract and go as a free agent at the end of the season.

He'll only be 27/28 and a good signing for the Championship or Eredivisie. A loan might end up as our only option.
Quite a contrast in outcomes between West Ham's outgoings and ours.

0

21 Jul 2026 18:35:23
Have we a sell on clause? Probably not. 😞

0

21 Jul 2026 18:43:47
Apparently no sell-on clause, Corkey. Even 10% of £68 million would have been handy.

1

21 Jul 2026 18:44:16
Bad business with Summerfield, no sell-on. We just can't keep making this sort of mistake time after time. We need someone who knows what they are doing when signing players, dot the i's and cross the t's, make it watertight. 68 million. 🤷🏻‍♂️

1

21 Jul 2026 19:01:34
Don't know who it was on here, but last time we got dumped, and I was moaning about selling fees on players, the poster told me off for asking that silly question.

Saying relegated teams have zero bargaining power over the exodus of their "stars".

West Ham proving that was a load of s****, as they are cleaning up, and well done for getting top coin.

Can't remember who told me this.

0

21 Jul 2026 19:38:23
Agreed, Dunelm. Piroe defo wants to go on a free. It's up to the club to tell him and his agent to find himself a new club.

3

21 Jul 2026 19:57:36
Yes, we had no sell on clause in our deal to sell Summerville to Wet Sham, but now they've sold him. To compare the two deals properly, you also need to know if there's a sell on clause in their deal or not.

0

21 Jul 2026 20:04:53
We haven't been good for a few years in several areas. Buying players with relegation clauses, loaning out with no obligation to buy, transferring with no sell on clause, and panicking and handing out high value contracts for no good reason (eg.

JH and DH) .
It might cost a substantial amount to get someone in who knows what they're doing, but in the long term it will save money - a lot.

0

21 Jul 2026 20:08:50
Sorry Jr, I think it's a bit irrelevant. West Ham have made their wedge, a big one, and I think they are the cat who got the cream - all of it.

0

21 Jul 2026 20:37:15
Yep, I said during the January window, Piroe wants to see his contract out.

Some seem to think he is destined for Champo this summer.. Not a chance that he would do so.

1

21 Jul 2026 21:33:53
He's never going to a champo side imo. Europe's top leagues are more likely, but not one of the elite ones.

1

21 Jul 2026 22:04:24
I don't think we could put a sell on clause in due to Cree's release fee being activated.

0

21 Jul 2026 23:11:57
That's not the point I'm making, Dun. He left us for £24M on the back of a good season in the Champo, and now Wet Sham have sold him for £60M on the back of a good season in the PL and World Cup call-up, that's just good business, just like we did buying Raphina for £17M and selling him for £54M.

My point is that some here have been criticising LU for not having a sell on clause in the deal, but quite probably Spam find themselves in the same position and had to sell to the Saudis also with no sell on clause.

0

21 Jul 2026 16:14:00
Have just read that Enzo Fernandez has said the Argentinian team represented their nation 'in the best possible way'!

Christ - I'd hate to see what they'd be like if they weren't on their best behaviour!

4

21 Jul 2026 16:59:00
Probably best my trip there next year will be using my Canadian passport. A UK one could spell trouble!

2

21 Jul 2026 16:59:13
Let's be honest, he's a bit of a John Thomas, isn't he really.

2

21 Jul 2026 20:00:58
Just tell them how much you admire Bielsa, and don't mention the Falklands, and you'll be Ok.

3

21 Jul 2026 09:11:50.
Wrexham game early Sunday am, purely for building match fitness at this stage of the season whilst increasing our global presence shirt sales, but please do not put too much stall by the result win or lose, it’s very early in the process.

Be good to see how our two new signings and what formations we try all the same.

3

21 Jul 2026 10:16:12
Not sure at all about it being 'very early' in the process, Class?

And, just a month to the start of the new season. Not long at all.

2

21 Jul 2026 10:49:38
Our WC starts, Baz mate. 😂

2

21 Jul 2026 13:40:35
Agree. It's Wrexham. We should smash them. Even though Devon didn't. No excuses. Are we happy to lose all pre season games as none matter? Nope.

1

21 Jul 2026 14:56:02
The White Dawn is already upon us, peeps. We are at about 5 past 8 at the moment, it's gonna be a glorious day. 😁

3

21 Jul 2026 18:41:22
Avoiding injuries is my main priority from pre season games.

2

20 Jul 2026 15:57:19
RIP Kevin Keegan. Loved watching him play and loved his enthusiasm for the game. What a partnership with Toshack as well.

7

20 Jul 2026 16:02:53
Indeed.. very sad indeed. A lovely man and great footballer.

5

20 Jul 2026 16:26:34
Was a hero of mine as a young kid. Great, feisty, talented player, and a great bloke too. Very sad news.

5

20 Jul 2026 17:24:22
Fully agree to all the above. RIP KK, one of football's legends.

7

20 Jul 2026 17:25:30
Baz mate the only thing to in joy mate is its over 🤭🤭

2

20 Jul 2026 17:39:33
RIP KK. A talented player who gave his all, and he thought a lot about The Don. He always came over as a very decent man. Very sad news.

5

20 Jul 2026 17:53:53
Sleep easy King Kev. 💔

3

20 Jul 2026 20:22:43
A legend of a footballer, a gent of the game who will be sadly missed. Condolences to his family.
He also gave one of the most played interviews ever that always made us smile, a true tantrum that showed his passion for our beautiful game, as a player, 110%, as a manager, 110%, and as a person, 110%.

7

20 Jul 2026 20:46:47
Great post, Bri. I totally agree with all you say.

3

20 Jul 2026 20:47:49
If I remember correctly, the tantrum was at Er after they had beaten us 2 - 0 in a Monday night game.

3

20 Jul 2026 23:30:26
Always dreaded playing against him - you knew he could hurt us, even with the line up we had in those days.

One of the players you'd put in your all time England X1.

Farewell Kev, and thank you for the memories.

3

20 Jul 2026 10:48:55
Question: Would you rather attend the World Cup final and watch 22 prima donna’s play tic tac and dive around for 120 minutes on a pristine pitch for lord knows how much money or go to say Scunthorpe on a wet Wednesday night for an FA Cup replay where you are close enough to actually see the game (and maybe treat yourself to a pie and Bo Ril a5 half-time) ?

5

20 Jul 2026 11:15:02
The latter, of course, as it involves Leeds United..

As for this WC. Yes, it has its faults, but there's still been a lot to enjoy.

1

20 Jul 2026 11:27:51
I'll take the pie, but you can keep the Bo Ril or Bovril. Give me coffee laced with a tot of Rum any day.

2

20 Jul 2026 11:54:23
Worse WC ever, sidewards - backwards football fest.
And, don't even get me going on that half time embarrassment.

Infantino - Out. 🤣

5

20 Jul 2026 12:21:30
Yeah, that ten-goal England-France thriller was a right yawn for starters, Chrissy. 😆

WC 2026 was definitely better imo than the 1994 and 2010 WCs.

2

20 Jul 2026 13:52:59
There were some highlights and good games 1970. Plenty of games every weekend of the EPL that are crap.

1

20 Jul 2026 14:14:03
Indeed, Aus.

Lots of very tedious crap games in EPL every season.

1

20 Jul 2026 14:14:07
Jeez, that's impressive, Baz.
Out of 104 games, the way you just rattled off that 1. 🙈🤣🤣🤣

That WC was a bore fest.

2

20 Jul 2026 14:43:32
Yes, Chrissy.

But

that one game was imo more enjoyable than virtually all World Cup games of the past 60 years, bar the World Cup finals of 1966 and 1970 and maybe a few other games.

However, plenty of other enjoyable, good games and plenty of goals in WC2026. Far, far more goals and better games than the very overhyped 1990 WC, for instance.

England 6 vs France 4
Mexico 2 vs England 3
Argentina 3 vs Egypt 2
Spain 2 vs France 0
Argentina 3 vs Cape Verde 2
Brazil 2 vs Japan 1
Belgium 3 vs Senegal 2
Canada 0 vs Morocco 3
Algeria 3 vs Austria 3
New Zealand 1 vs Belgium 5
Norway 1 vs France 4
Turkey 3 vs USA 2
Norway 3 vs Senegal 2
Uruguay 2 vs Cape Verde 2
Netherlands 5 vs Sweden 1
Canada 6 vs Qatar 0

Etc etc

And as I said, plenty of duff bore fest EPL games each seez.

1

20 Jul 2026 13:55:13
And don't think Spain can be called primal Madonna's too. As they won it on merit and smashed argies in final. Any team restricting argies to that little deserve credit. England didn't.

1

20 Jul 2026 14:51:53
I don't like America. Or particularly Americans. I have my reasons.
But it was an ok World Cup. Not great. Not crap. But lots of pluses for the lesser nations. That's what I like. Austria. Morocco. Cape Verdi. Konya. Bosnia. Senegal. Lots of flair and endeavour
Just a shame tuchel tactics and draw made it not France v Spain.

0

20 Jul 2026 15:14:35
I didn't mind the HT entertainment..

Madonna singing the Evita 🎵 song instead of ' Music ' would have been fab. 😆

0

20 Jul 2026 16:29:22
Ht was an embarrassment, and should never be allowed to happen ever again at any football match! Baz will be quoting Tom Cruise poetry next!

2

20 Jul 2026 17:34:53
Tom only writes short stories, Bright.

20 Jul 2026 10:02:23
At least football won, well done Spain, the ridiculous tournament and last night's horrible game made me appreciate supporting Leeds United all the more, Clubs like Citeh, Chelsea have left us for dust through global sports washing, and clear manipulation of the rules, am I jealous of their resources yes, would I ever support anyone other than Leeds United due to more money more chance of success no, never ever no!

We will have one of the lowest transfer budgets in the EPL next year but rather than sulk about it we should embrace it, as long as we can, we’re Leeds United and we will match anyone on our day through togetherness, grit and passion and pride in the shirt.

Gulf states and big business and all the money men have long taken over the soul of our beautiful game, but there’s no point raging st the wind, so instead embrace, relish every second of our staying up comfortably last season, including our well deserved win at Taunton our magnificent FA Cup run all with a supposedly finished washed up injured number 9 who ended up our clear POTS for me.

Infatino and Trump fixing Belagoun sending off was probably the tip of the most horrendous manipulation of what used to be the greatest spectacle in the world.

And don’t fall for Klopp’s false “it’s not their game” rhetoric either, remember when all the players wore t-shirts in the warm up at ER taking a dig at the planned Super League and Klopp had a massive meltdown about it, he was very happy to pull up the drawbridge in support of the Super League and put two fingers up despite the clear risk, damage to the whole football pyramid.

We are incredibly lucky (however painful at times) to support a genuine football club who are probably most widely known not for our successes anymore, but are globally known for the passion of our magnificent supporters home and away rather than how much money we have, something to be truly proud off and grateful as we head into next season.

4

https://liverpool-rumours.co.uk/uploads/thumb_Ed001.png avatar{Ed001's Note - Klopp was not in support of the Super League, quite the opposite mate.}

2

19 Jul 2026 21:19:00
With Infantino in charge, how much lower can football sink?

4

19 Jul 2026 22:18:37
Would love UEFA to pull out of FIFA.

5

19 Jul 2026 23:45:20
Argies justly lost.adios

Infantino disappointed

Messi tears

Entertaining extra time

Great ending to an enjoyable WC2026

2

20 Jul 2026 06:11:40
What a boring game that was. Shame on Argentina not having a shot until after the 106th minute. And their poor behaviour after the whistle.

3

20 Jul 2026 01:20:45
In 1966, England manager Alf Ramsey famously referred to the Argentines as "animals", and with a few exceptions the same could be said of today's Argentina team - happy that they lost. Amazed also that in 120 mins of football they had zero shots on target.

4

20 Jul 2026 06:55:28
Spain were the deserved winners of this WC. Such a one-sided game that it should've been at least 4-0.
Argentina tried to bully their way to another very undeserved trophy.
A competitive final it was not. Watching Argentina deploy their dark arts is everything I hate about how some players and football teams play to win a football match.

The extended half-time pop concert grated my nerves, and a message of love when the reality of ICE makes a mockery of the American hypocrisy.

This was the most distasteful World Cup in history, along with corrupt FIFA and money-grabbing General Infantino.
Something has to be done about FIFA and how they can operate without any control whatsoever.

I used to love the World Cup tournament, but now I love it less after each one that passes. This one, being in the United States with Adolf Trump at the helm, made it truly unbearable in my estimation.

9

20 Jul 2026 08:04:26
Can't disagree OP.

Behaviour of the Argentinians at the end, then having to endure Trump and Infantino walking out to present the trophy just about summed up the whole thing - unbearable!

5

20 Jul 2026 10:06:34
Good post, JR.

1

20 Jul 2026 11:21:16
And, probably for the first time in my life, I find myself agreeing with Wayne Rooney that half time pantomime was crap!

3

20 Jul 2026 12:20:16
Totally agree JR only the Americans know how to destroy the world's greatest international sporting tournament.
It's an insult to the great game, if it's ever held there ever again then I simply won't watch it.

2

19 Jul 2026 20:29:01
Hull seem to be putting a squad together but any approach for Joffy seems to be on the back burner.
Not sure what their intentions are but suspect they might play hardball and hold off until the last couple of days and then put in a ridiculously low offer.

If he's going then we need to be offering him out to other clubs and force their hand.

3

20 Jul 2026 02:52:02
I suspect Hull understands he is not prem quality and most likely will not make an offer.

2

20 Jul 2026 06:59:36
I think for Joffy that is the sad reality for him.
I think his future is within the Championship league.

3

20 Jul 2026 08:34:06
Saw an interesting post of most valuable English strikers under 30 (based on TransferMarkt) for the post-Kane world. Joffy was 6th (and DCL 3rd) !

Not sure that's necessarily good about Joffy, so much as bad for England, but was surprised by how high he was!
