Brentford have been brilliant.
1 up top in a game like this isn’t working for us, DCL can’t get near the ball, completely out played all over the pitch. Zero pace in our attack at all.
Not taking anything from Brentford they’ve been outstanding.

Agree2 Disagree0

30 Aug 2026 15:02:52
Brentford have ballers ..

30 Aug 2026 15:11:01
They're a well drilled, cohesive team with some skillful players and plenty of energy. They'll give the top 6 a bit of a challenge this season.

30 Aug 2026 15:17:34
Delighted that arrogant such & such Keane is eating a lot of humble pie over Andrews.

Keith's a manager, Roy wishes he was.

Keane has a very bitter streak towards Keith.

30 Aug 2026 15:21:37
They are giving us a lesson. We haven't turned up at all. How much money have we spent.

30 Aug 2026 15:25:17
31 touches in the Leeds box. 6 for Leeds in their box. This is just not believable from a Leeds home game.

30 Aug 2026 15:29:12
Maybe so, Chris, but Brentford's real strength is their recruitment team, not so much any coach.

Plus, Keith Andrews, as a TV analyst, was always deeply and unfairly critical and biased towards Leeds, so defo not a fan of him.

30 Aug 2026 16:08:32
We're aligned re Andrew's Baz, but fair do's to him. He's improved Frank's team. That's the best team at Elland Road, aside from Arsenal, for a good while.

I'm pleased that we changed it around and gradually got on top.

Lucky with the penalty, though.

30 Aug 2026 16:19:45
Never a penalty in a million years.

30 Aug 2026 17:16:03
Some refs might have awarded a penalty, and if it was given today, then VAR wouldn't overturn it as a blatant mistake. You win some, you lose some.

30 Aug 2026 14:26:16
24 minutes in and Stach needs to turn up. We are playing with 10 men at the moment.

Agree1 Disagree0

30 Aug 2026 14:47:49
Baz, the only player out there is Ba according to some. CL is rubbish. We are not in the game at all.

30 Aug 2026 14:59:35
Very disappointing first half, and yep, re Stach.

Worse still, Joe Rodon went off with a hamstring injury, and Leeds then conceded.

Farke needs to bring on subs, ideally Longstaff, Wilson and Danny James, early in the 2nd half.

30 Aug 2026 15:06:51
Won't do, Baz, it's Ba, forget anyone else, mate; the whole team is not clicking down to Farke now.

30 Aug 2026 16:09:47
Are you going to acknowledge Farke made good calls, White?

30 Aug 2026 17:10:46
Oh yes, he brought on tanks, ani4ni. Are you going to acknowledge their manager, who has only been in the job for 6 weeks, outclassed our manager, who has been in it for years? And, before you say it, no, I am not saying he should be sacked, but the truth is he was done over, mate.

30 Aug 2026 18:08:28
Their manager only been there for 6 weeks? Hmm. I'm not sure how I am supposed to acknowledge that?

30 Aug 2026 10:36:10
Well it’s not going to be Harder. He’s off to Strasbourg.

On a side note, City115 offering £100m for Cody Gakpo is ludicrous.

I actual think that is getting any decent players in under £35 to £40 deserves credit given how absolutely mental some of these average players are moving for. 🤯🤯🤯🤯
Am I missing something?

Agree2 Disagree0

30 Aug 2026 11:41:43
Seem to remember Allan Clarke cost £165, 000. And that was an English record fee!

30 Aug 2026 12:26:29
These elevated prices [read ridiculous], I think hide some nefarious actions between these Big Six clubs. Selling a player is revenue, and the higher that can be, the higher the number the PSR will be for any given team. Swapping these players around the Big Six at elevated prices gives them more room.

Aside from that, it truly shows what a great job our recruitment team does, because there is zero chance some of these players are worth what these teams are paying; the valuations are laughable and false.

Liverpool paying £123M for a player whose goal-scoring record wasn't as good as DCL's last season, despite playing in a team that scores 50% more goals per game than Leeds, is unbelievable.

At age 23, DCL's record was better, arguably in a harder league, in a pretty poor team.

30 Aug 2026 13:32:14
Great post, Ani. It highlights that the Big Six will only draw financially further and further away from the rest, and we have made some fantastic signings for a relatively low spend.

30 Aug 2026 14:10:44
John Charles, the best footballer I've ever seen in the flesh, went from Leeds Utd to Juventus in April 1957 for £65,000, which at the time was a British record transfer fee. At today's prices he'd be something like £200M.

30 Aug 2026 16:27:24
John Charles would be at least £200 million, JR imo.

30 Aug 2026 17:38:52
No attempt at controlling the financial activities of Premier League clubs, especially with regard to spending, is going to be perfect. That's why PSR was dumped in favour of SCR.
PSR allowed manipulation by selling marketing activities, and parts of a club, such as women's teams and hotels, to owner-related companies at inflated prices.
It might still happen, but the PL have said that all such deals will be scrutinised to ensure that they are done on a commercial basis. It will also be more immediate, and more in line with UEFA regulations.

Leeds voted against it, as it does tend to penalise clubs with smaller grounds and less worldwide commercial reach. That's why there are plans to expand Elland Road.
Spurs have had the opportunity to spend big, because their extensive use of the ground for other activities, such as NFL and concerts, will probably bring in over £100m as they are allowed to have 30 per year.
We'll have to wait and see how it works out, but SCR can't be any worse than PSR.

Frankie might be under pressure soon, bless.

As for Leeds, .. can we please try and get points and not get decimated when we play blooming Arsenal this seez .. being thrashed 5 nil and 4 nil last seez by Arsenal was wholly unacceptable.

30 Aug 2026 09:47:47
Love it, Alf. He didn't see that coming. 😂😂
Pun intended.

30 Aug 2026 12:52:28
Arrogance personified is the above man. 🔝

30 Aug 2026 13:15:39
Love it, Alf. 🤣🤣🤣

30 Aug 2026 06:52:19
Think we spent our Jan striker money on Trafford cause we didn’t tie Darlow down and had to divert funds instead of tieing Darlow down, shifting Perri and Mez and getting Zebedee.

Agree1 Disagree0

30 Aug 2026 08:30:40
HiHarder is on his way to Strasbourg on loan with option to buy. Our striker options are getting narrower, if not non-existent.

30 Aug 2026 09:05:26
Talk of Mane from Wolves, but stats not great, and only a 7.2 ranking last season, which was about 7th best in Wolves. Hardly inspiring.

30 Aug 2026 09:11:00
Have to agree to disagree on this one, Aus.

I think we have one of the top three keepers in the EPL in Jimmy. I also believe people think Karl is much better than he actually was. Take both our recent games at Florists; I don’t see Karl making the saves that Jimmy made, and if Karl is that good, why is he a number 2 and unlikely to play this season.

Think Jimmy will be our player of the season and will end up looking a bargain come the end of the season considering Delap going for £50milliom.

I get DCL could be injured, but not to sign Jimmy when available is a greater crime for me, plus all the top top strikers aren’t guaranteed to score and will they want to come to Leeds anyway.

Sunderland finished six places above us last season, scoring 7 goals less than us but conceding 8 goals less than us, and for me that was the difference between our relative keepers, with Roeffs being an excellent signing.

Love a striker of course, but let’s see what happens yet.

30 Aug 2026 09:18:23
Yes, Aus..

Looks that way, re failing to tie down Darlow, which was regrettable.

And then spending an inordinate amount of £45 million of our budget on a gk, likely impacting our ability to sign players in other key positions.

A few peeps are besides themselves at this window.. it's not as good as that.. Aimo.

30 Aug 2026 09:20:37
Totally agree, Class.
I'd love a striker, but we look great at the back.
Be great to see how we go today.

30 Aug 2026 09:30:11
Yes, Roefs was indeed excellent for Sunderland.. and he cost just £9 million (not £45 million we spent on a keeper) .

30 Aug 2026 09:37:59
The history of DCL on these forums.

"We shouldn't have bought him, he's a sick note and is never fit." "We need a new striker!"

Then, when it transpires he is fit, and not missing games, it becomes

"His stats are terrible and misses loads; he's an expensive Bamford." "We need a new striker!"

Then, when he starts to score, it becomes.

"yea, but will he remain fit," despite remaining fit. "We need a new striker!"

30 Aug 2026 09:44:06
DCL was great last seez, Ani. Better than expected, and many peeps player of seez, including mine.

Point is, Leeds could really do with another additional striker also. Could we not, Ani?

30 Aug 2026 09:50:25
Agree class re Trafford. He is brilliant and could be our player of the season. Just saying that's where I think striker dosh has gone. 👍

30 Aug 2026 09:50:29
That's a great post, Class! Trafford for me, the most important signing we have made in this very good transfer window! I was never totally convinced by Darlow, and although he did well enough last season, Jimmy is definitely a major upgrade! We have lots of players capable of scoring! No incoming striker will guarantee goals either. I'm excited by my team!

30 Aug 2026 10:44:38
Couldn't agree more, Class.
One step at a time.
One step at a time.

30 Aug 2026 11:15:35
In a perfect world, Baz, having another striker would be good. At the same time, not getting one won't be the end of the world.

We were "middling" last season in regards to goals, but nowhere near that on goals conceded. I think the priority this season was to strengthen the defence, and they've done that.. And, yes, we must do one on Arsenal this season.

30 Aug 2026 13:47:52
I do agree, it's not life or death not signing a striker, but it's going to be harder without one than with one.

30 Aug 2026 00:38:01
Watching MOTD, Spurs beaten again after spending crazy money.
Solanke got about 12 mins. Could we put a bid in for him as sure not happy, his market value is around 25mil.
Buy him, buy Mane from Wolves around 20 mil and try loan Ethan Nwareri, window done. 😇
Easy this window shopping.

30 Aug 2026 09:51:58
Saw the Liverpool game. They leave themselves wide open for counter-attacks. They will get bounced quite a bit this season. Isaac was dire, and they take gak off. I thought he was their best player lol. Happy days.

30 Aug 2026 10:03:27
Gakpo in Man City's sights although Spurs would like him as well as they've not spent enough to sufficiently improve the squad. 😮

30 Aug 2026 10:05:40
Don't think Solanke is pushing for a move, but Richarlison is. Good on his day, and a bit of a nasty piece, but doesn't do it often enough.

29 Aug 2026 21:51:55
Hull agree deal for Bahoya, that's another one off the potential left wingers then.
I’m fascinated as to who this big names big deal unnamed left winger we have potentially lined up is.
Who can it be really?

Agree1 Disagree0

29 Aug 2026 23:08:41
Great credit to Hull and Ipswich, both are giving it a right go in the transfer market.

And, so far, on the pitch, both are off to that all important strong start. 100% win record.

30 Aug 2026 08:39:26
Dave, someone not well known and cost the earth.

30 Aug 2026 08:51:09
Hopefully, Ipswich continue their amazing 100% winning run of ummm.. one game today!

30 Aug 2026 09:23:25
Hopefully they do Ddsw in beating Man U.

..The crux of the point, as you well know, was that both Hull and Ipswich have both gone for it in the window, signing a multitude of effective players in many positions. Ipswich in particular.

Not just Ddsw, your favourite most important position of gk, to the detriment of other positions.

30 Aug 2026 10:12:48
Just like Leeds have, Baz.
Signing effective players in important positions without major disruption to the team/squad!

29 Aug 2026 20:10:49
RB Leipzig have signed Marc Giui from Chelsea.
Does that mean Harder might happen?

Agree3 Disagree0

29 Aug 2026 21:11:40
I'd assume it makes it more likely he could leave, but he could be moving anywhere. Sevilla and Lazio have been mentioned. As always, time will tell.

29 Aug 2026 23:11:15
72 hours remaining of 3 months of summer transfer speculation.

Can Leeds United fans be very pleasantly surprised please with a very late striker signing. 🙏

30 Aug 2026 08:27:43
Harder on his way to Strasbourg on loan, with option to buy. Promised game time.

29 Aug 2026 20:06:03
The only rumour I am not too keen on is - Mudryk.
He promised so much when going to Chelsea but in most games I have seen him in he has lamentably failed to impress. I have even seen a video of Gary Neville with the comment that the only are he excels in is speed in a straight line.

However he dissapoints in his ability to beat a man and then to cross accurately.
A bit of a basic requirement for a Winger don't you think?
Still I would have to trust in the scouts and prayer, if he does arrive.

Agree0 Disagree0

30 Aug 2026 08:41:38
Ieodis, if it's a deal, then we will pay way over the top for Mud.
