How to raise funds to bring in 2/ 3 quality players in Jaunary. Sell all of the following for a cut price deal of around 5 million each. Meslier, Wober, Joesph, Gelhardt, Harrison, Arronson, Piroe and whatever we can get for schmidt. That's 35 odd million and a huge saving on wasted wages. Bring back Soloman on loan and get an attacking midfielder and a striker.

Harrison unlikely to go due to wage demands. we're probably still paying for some of those (Aaronson I imagine, possibly Piroe) so its not as simple as just dropping the price or we take PSR losses.

You can't "just sell" players; they are in contract and so remain at the club, playing or otherwise, unless someone comes in and makes an offer that works for the club and the respective player.

If I am being paid £50K a week [£100K a week for some], then I am not going to forfeit my contract unless someone comes in and offers more or near with game time.

Like Aft says above, you can't just accept the losses because that messes up the PSR calculations and that in itself impacts bringing new players in.

Why we turned down £25 million from Leicester I think it was I will never understand.
Same goes for Meslier. £16 million offer not accepted.
That’s some coin to buy at least one top notch addition and probably two.

Cool the jets lads, I was only trying to say I'd love to just get rid of the players who have no future with us. By offering a lower price of 5 million, the buying clubs might be willing the pay the wages these are on, fair enough about Harrison's but the rest wouldn't out of reach for most top European leagues.

Most of these players will likely be surplus to requirements and the likely option for most of them will be loan outs with the option to buy. I can’t see any quick profit making sales with any of them. Like Alf mentioned the profit and sustainability will be a issue otherwise as they will very likely be sold for a loss than a profit.

I know what you mean Ed but for the quality he could bring (if he can get back to something near his best) and the amount we would pay (say £5m until the end of the season) we are unlikely to get such a high quality, experienced EPL player for a similar outlay - particularly in January. I feel it could be worth a punt.

{Ed001's Note - he said in the summer that he is not interested in joining a team outside of London. I really think he is out of love with the game now mate. Even if he has changed his mind, and will consider teams outside of London, I would say he should be avoided. You need fighters to keep you up, he is no longer even a trier.}

True Bright, in fact Calvert-Lewin was in my mind a curious destination for Leeds Utd.
The only thing I would say about Sterling is that I would question his hunger for a relegation scrap then of course his potentially astronomical wages make it also very difficult .
It is without doubt very unlikely.

Think we have to be happy with a point, they are good tough side at their ground, especially after going one down.
A big improvement has happened recently, think most of us feared we’d be in bottom 3 after this run of games, nice to have slight space.
We need to invest in JANUARY, ideally I’d like to see another striker and think that we still need creativity in MF.


Probably stick to 3 DMF against top sides but at home and against bottom half of teams, drop one of them and have someone who can make things tick, again down to 49ers.

In and out of phone reception as on way to Esperance.
Overall happy with that. Think slightly negative first half but they were always going to come at us. Better team in second half and slightly unlikely to get the 3 points.
Think dcl should have got a penalty.
Whole team put a shift in but overly impressed with stach, amps and gabby today.

Totally agree Aus about the penalty claim.

The ref couldn't wait to point to the spot when Thiago threw himself to the ground, but it was exactly the same for DCL, and he had no interest.

I don't think either should be given, otherwise we end up with 10 pens a game, but if you give one, then you have to give the other.

Apart from that, I am really happy with the turnaround in performances, and our ability to attack and score, while looking solid (ish) at the back and in the middle of the park.

Couple of quality signings in January would be nice and very much needed.

I think we need a prolific striker (who, I have no idea, an attacking midfielder, wide man and maybe another CB for backup/ rotation. I know it's a big wish list, but it's Christmas!

It was 100% a penalty on DCL, even moreso that they were awarded one for diving and it was only the fact that he was offside that it was disallowed.

I can't blame Farke for setting up how he did. They've only lost to man city at home and get their goals on the break. Their goal was a deflection off of Bijol so another case of points dropped because of a bad luck deflection.

We neutralised one of the most effective home teams In the league.

The pen the ref tried to give was an obvious dive as Ouattara somehow managed to claim he'd been held back but still fall forwards. DCL was clearly held back by Collins to prevent him getting to the ball, so an obvious pen.

The key question is not why the ref missed it, which I can accept, but why VAR took no action, which I cannot accept.

With consistent refereeing we'd have won. How we had a PK awarded against us for next to no contact but DCL was dragged down and nothing given is beyond me.
All fans and players want is consistency but there is none!

Think that’s all credit to our recent performances AGM, even Andrews was challenged on Brentford relatively negative approach when they have consistently dominated at home.

Andrews actually commented in his presser on how the change of formation had reaped deserved wins for Leeds against top six sides.

Fortune favours the brave, and I believe a very good and well earned point today.

Ref wanted to give them a very dubious pen which VAR chalked off for offside, but after a very similar incident in the 2nd half when we should've got a pen neither he nor VAR showed any interest, inconsistent.

By my reckoning Ox it would require both Florists and Wet Sham to win by more than a 2 goal margin to put us in the bottom 3 and neither of them have done that - yet. At 15:25 Florists are at 2:0 and Wet Sham at 2:2 and we're still 16th.
