Five ex Leeds players on the pitch last night, in the Blunts vs Boro game,

Blunts; Paddy, good goal, missed an easy one, Rothwell, sub but sent off for horrendous tackle, KP sub involved in Paddy’s goal looked rusty, and Hjelde late sub.

Boro; Luke played CB and was best of the bunch I thought but none of them looked epl standard.

Malanda at CB for Boro looked an amazing find, but you do have to remind yourself of the chasm of difference between championship and the epl.

Same applies to young Boro skipper Hackney who looks a class above everyone at championship level.

Was thinking this morning. Think Bor and Ipswich automatic but not sure who else.
It will be interesting to see ( if we survive ) how much better we are to the promoted sides.

Has a change in tactics ( more direct ) opened it up a bit? Does it negate the skill factor of the players the top 5 or 6 buy?

I was a tad disappointed with Whitaker. Last season I thought he was ready for the PL, and a player we should have considered buying, but he was good but not exceptional.

It was a good game and should have been 3-2 to sheff utd if not for two Bamford misses.

Great goal from KP to Harmer to Bamford.

I still think we should have picked up KP.

Joking aside, I was hoping he would be scoring goals for fun in the champo.

Shot to nothing for me tonight: I'd go at them as we did at home, and hope to rattle them in the early stages.
However, I think DF will go cautiously in the hope of taking the all important "point per game".

I would fully understand that approach too, but think it makes it less likely we will take something outta the game.
It's a big night for the wrong end contenders, so i only hope we end it it as we are, or better off.

Not sure the best way tonight. I’m struggling to see a point. But I hate to see us sit back and invite pressure. So maybe just chuck the kitchen sink at it. Try and limit them to 2 or 3 goals at worst. Happy for 1 point. Ecstastic with 3.

Think Farke is clearly not convinced about Browncow’s abilities, maybe it’s because he’s prone to injury but I thought he did very well at Liverpool, and gives us height and balance on the left.

Think OP is right with JJ deputising for Pascal but I’ve a hunch he will play at right back as we revert to a back four.

Very tough game tonight against form side in the league would love a point but no more injuries please.

I can’t see 5 either vid. Think Chelsea will return the favour and beat us, villa in a bit of a dip so could sneak a point and city pretty much chasing gunners so need to win every game. 15% chance of a point there maybe.

I hope we beat Birmingham, married into a bluenose loving family. 2 brother-in-law's been constantly giving me earache since the draw was made. Hope we take this game seriously as they have a good home record and will raise their game against us. Having to have Sunday lunch with one lot of the family and to watch the game with them.

Farke said he needed to work harder in training.

FB has warmed a bench for six months then has come to Leeds, which is an intensive club.

Either FB has not been able to keep up with the training and has said "sod this for a parcel of potatoes" or has genuinely struggled and Farke has tried to save face for him.

Better for the player and club to agree with the message of "mentality required to be a Leeds player is high" Vs "he's a knackered old donkey and needs two months training to get up to speed".

Attitude, fitness and opportunity. That's what loanees need to succeed under Farke.

Solomon got into the side because ramazani was injured. He agreed with the boss and worked hard and kept his place.

Rama kept spinny jumping whenever he scored, even though Farke had reprimanded him about it.

It's an interesting point MoT, there seems to be very specific requirements for our recruitment which may well explain why its not as easy as people would like. For a start they have to fit physically and mentally to integrate well into the squad, attitude and personality are important and why not? A tight knit harmonious group is a big plus and if you are investing big dosh it makes sense.

Feels like “try before you buy”. Don’t think he is really for this season (or next few months at least) . If he gets up to speed and has the atttitude and fitness and shows what Farke needs on the training pitch then we buy him for next year.

Added bonus in that case that he might be useful in the run in too. If he doesn’t cut the mustard then the search for a CAM who will fit DF’s needs goes on.

To replace the bit part player that no1 really liked or warned too but was there as a training partner better than the u21s who we loaned out and replaced with a loan. Nothing gained nothing lost.

Maybe it's already been said, not been on for a few days, but for me this is a massive day for Palace. Not because of who they're playing, they'll have more winnable games, but because in the 2nd half against 10 man Forest it was obvious they desperately needed a central striker so if JSL doesn't work out then they are as good as down.

You heard it here first. Or maybe 2nd, or 3rd .

Big win for Palace in their derby game with Brighton, thought Strand Larsen played ok not £50 million ok, but if Palace stay up due to his signing they’ll have got their money back.

Lots of angry Brighton friends at the end, my coaching mate talks of genuine concerns in the Brighton board level.
