These so called "stars" failed to keep us in the Premiership and again failed to achieve promotion and look for example Middlesborough last night or Luton or Burnley or even Sheffield Utd how many stars did they have? How many stars did Norwich have when Farke took them up twice? There is a lot more to football than big money names.
1.) 15 Aug 2024 21:05:01
Norwich under DF relied heavily on Buendia and Pukki.
2.) 15 Aug 2024 21:27:44
Esp Pukki, got a good few goals.
3.) 15 Aug 2024 21:51:23
Yes Baz and I think this fact exposes Farke and his tactics which are geared toward the best individuals reaping. Without those match winners, Farke just another manager. Hence why we saw him over rely and under rotate toward end of last season.
4.) 15 Aug 2024 22:38:49
Bingo George
To think DF couldn't get £ 160 million plus of players promoted
Wayyy prefer David Moyes please.
5.) 16 Aug 2024 04:22:44
We think Farke's style gets boring then we're asking for Moyes ?♂️ that's like getting out of the frying pan and into the fire.
You can't really want us to sit in a low block all game and wait to counter. I know we're all not feeling great about things right now but realisitcally, we've still got a better team than most in the division. We need to be possession dominant at this level, not soaking up the pressure from lesser teams all game.
That would be horrendous to watch.
6.) 16 Aug 2024 05:28:07
Dill
I am sure David Moyes has ability to tweak his style for Champob
Pretty sure he has played a strong robust 4 4 2 style and certainly loves tall strong ? physical types who are experts at scoring from and defending set pieces .
Perfect for Champo winning football
Furthermore I feel Moyes would command far more respect from players than Farke and his silly voice and failing Tippy tappy tactics and useless at set plays.
Should add that a lot of Leeds goals actually came from counter attacking at pace . not possession based boring side to side passes.
7.) 16 Aug 2024 05:31:14
. and Dill . prepare yourself for the likelihood of more " horrendous " football to watch under DF. much like Wednesdays match
Boring and losing football . lots of goal concessions too
AIMO.
8.) 16 Aug 2024 06:55:31
I don't want to watch Moyes' brand of football morseo than I do Farke's. Less chance of opposition scoring when you recycle the ball than sitting in a low block for most of the game.
There's better options out there, mate. More aesthetically pleasing as well as getting the results.
My personal fave is Igor Tudor.
9.) 16 Aug 2024 06:59:08
Moyes can love those sort of players but unfortunately that would entail buying mostly a new taller, physical squad, as we don't have one atm.
Struijk, Rodon and Wober the only tall ones with any physicality tbh.
10.) 16 Aug 2024 07:04:58
This is from a West Ham fan site in July:
Moyes continues:”I have my own thoughts and principles about how things should be done, but that does not mean I am not adaptable or willing to change- you have to be both if you want to stay in football for very long. ” Eh?
This is the ‘Scotosaurus’ who kept playing the same rigid defensive football, shackling the talents of some of our finest including Bowen, Paqueta and Kudus into defensive duties for 70 minutes until panic set in, and causing more than a few murmurs of discontent at London Stadium. "
Sounds like fun ?.
11.) 16 Aug 2024 07:46:02
West Ham have just had their best two seasons of the last 40 years and their fans still wanted Moyes out!
The only positive attribute you can lay at Moyes door is, he ain’t Sean Dyche…just about.
Farke may have his limitations, that being he probably only has three styles of play, but that’s three times as many as Moyes.
12.) 16 Aug 2024 07:49:53
Totally understand the West Ham fans want for change from Moyes football when you’ve got star players like Bowen and Paqueta.
Yes it would be possible that Moyes could get us promoted but at a cost that we will cease to be entertained anymore.
I still trust in the 49er’s and Herr Farke to get this job done and be entertained whilst watching it too.
I seriously don’t think Farke would stay with us if he knew that the club were not going to back him in the scenario which is being played out right now.
It would have already calculated that Summerville and Rutter would have been targeted had we not been promoted and Farke I’m certain would have been given assurances that he’ll be backed.
There’s still time left to do that.
13.) 16 Aug 2024 08:10:50
Would rather have Big Sam back than Moyes. That’s how bad that suggestion is!
I can honestly say that I’ve now read the lowest depths of desperate, nonsensical bull I thought anyone could create, and still think they are correct.
As a result, posters who did the opposite, like Woody and notable others, have gone quiet, and the site is dominated by such drivel. Shame.
14.) 16 Aug 2024 08:12:31
Quit such logic OP! Not welcomed by the majority on here! ???.
15.) 16 Aug 2024 11:21:31
Faor enough with alternative suggestion of Iga Tudor
Ani. DF has one style of play . give it to Buendia . or in Leeds case . Summerville.
16.) 16 Aug 2024 11:23:25
OP . DF on a further 3 years of lucrative contract. he ain't ever walking out on that regardless of situation .
17.) 16 Aug 2024 11:29:05
BB you do make one laugh with your silly posts
Of course you do.
Moyes has his limitations but he has recently won Wet Spam a European trophy . a first trophy for Wet Spam in nearly 50 years
Spammer fans are hilariously entitled. deluded too
let's see how many ? Lopetegui wins Wet Spam . The answer will. be zero. he couldn't even win trophies coaching Spain, Real Madrid and Porto lmao ?
T.
18.) 16 Aug 2024 13:15:47
'Entitled' in this scenario means not wanting to watch dogsh! t football. Which I also don't want to.
19.) 16 Aug 2024 13:55:32
Lol Dill . entertaining football is pleasing to an extent but winning trophies ? trumps that easily
Bottom line West Ham finally won a trophy in 5 decades. they probably will not ever win another.
20.) 16 Aug 2024 15:32:49
I'm also greedy then ?.
21.) 16 Aug 2024 18:23:07
One is glad one makes one laugh?
Who are you? Royalty? You talk like that in the pub, or just trying to sound civilised and intelligent? ???????.
30 Sep 2023 20:00:16
Cooper played because he is the captain the same way Ayling played when Cooper was injured becaus e he is the vice captain. Farke willnever play them both because he knows they are both not as good as players on the bench. Next season we need both a new captain and vice captain for this is surely their last season in the championship but the big question is who are these two going to be? This is why you will still see Cooper again unless he gets a "knock" in training. Who should the next captain be?
1.) 30 Sep 2023 20:25:25
Captain Nonsensical.
2.) 30 Sep 2023 21:28:02
Amupdu is the captain in my eyes already.
3.) 30 Sep 2023 23:51:11
In his first season with us, Amps would not be my captain. Struick my choice.
4.) 01 Oct 2023 01:12:50
Agree bermo.
5.) 01 Oct 2023 07:33:09
Agree with Bermondsey do it now.
6.) 01 Oct 2023 08:08:58
Struik? Made me chuckle ?.
7.) 01 Oct 2023 09:41:37
I’m going back on what I’ve said previously, and agreeing with a Baz post from a couple of weeks ago, and what Bermo says above. Amps, for sure, and immediately. No point resting on sentiment anymore. Drop Coops, keep him for the rest of the season as a spokesman in the DR, then move him on to Saudi.
8.) 01 Oct 2023 11:28:00
Good man Brigty!
Hopefully DF flipping does so!
23 Jun 2023 16:26:29
How come with so many of our players for example Filpo Koch Adams Rodrigo Summerville Gnoto Harrison Sinestra (Llorente and Roca already going) attracting interest from PL German Spanish and Italian clubs. how on earth did we end up being relegated?
1.) 23 Jun 2023 16:37:01
Shit coaches mate, a better coach in Dec would imo kept us up.
2.) 23 Jun 2023 16:45:58
What Richie said. There was more than enough talent in that squad to do more than just stay up.
3.) 23 Jun 2023 17:23:25
What Bright said about Richie.
4.) 23 Jun 2023 18:06:24
Hmm 'Enough talent to more than stay up'.
. nonsense hyperbole
The league table for 2 consecutive seasons doesn't lie
A good coach might have made a small difference
But Leeds had a 'world class coach ' in Bielsa who was in a R battle
And folo6wing season exact same dog doo gk and defenders
A non existent mf that could not pass, tackle, run, assist or. score
And no Raphinha
Llorente and Roca sold for far less than was paid .
.
Nah a bunch of Relegation level players except 4 players only Rodrigo, JH, sicknote LS and possibly Gnonto.
5.) 23 Jun 2023 18:36:19
Agree with MG, 100%.
6.) 23 Jun 2023 19:23:00
In this case, what no-one said. Reason we're in the Championship is due to the pathetic misses on goal by Patrick Bamford. Was JM limited? Certainly. Was Gracia a chuckle brother? Certainly. Was Big Sam fat? Certainly but if Paddy wasn't crocked or was suitably backed up those penalties go in, the centimeter miss against ?? goes in and we're safe. CC absolutely nailed the season's problem pretty much before a ball was kicked and he was proven right. Our players on average are exactly what Radz claimed - in that 13th to 16th banding but Paddy missed too many chances which cost us points. Gashlier next guilty party. Baz will assert Gashlier worse than Paddy but I see it marginally other way round. Add up the points they cumulatively dropped for us and we attain low 40s. None of this detracts from JM not being able to lace Bub boots as a coach but the failure to back up Paddy was our undoing.
7.) 23 Jun 2023 21:16:14
Along with Paddy's misses, we had an iffy goalkeeper, a fragile defence, and a midfield that couldn't pass to each other and didn't contribute any goals.
8.) 23 Jun 2023 21:51:44
Individuals maybe who were alright - suited to the EPL a lot of them were not hence interest from elsewhere. But our biggest achilles heel was a very poorly balanced squad.
9.) 23 Jun 2023 21:54:03
Didn’t realize Roca was sold.
10.) 24 Jun 2023 00:40:34
Feath And yet we were still only confirmed relegated last day of the season.
11.) 24 Jun 2023 08:53:18
I still believe that something went on in the dressing room at the start of our demise. If the dressing room became split, the No coach can resolve it outside a transfer window. And yes, our squad was more than capable of staying up.
12.) 24 Jun 2023 10:27:08
Sorry brightly pal I don't agree,
Mouras goal against us was our last 2 seasons summed up in about 8 seconds
Spineless, the squad we had/ have deserved to go down, you don't concede all those goals by accident
Terrible throughout the whole team.
13.) 24 Jun 2023 12:11:07
What Richie, Bright, MG and ILK said. Had JM been replaced at WC break, or even in Jan by any half decent coach, we would have stayed up easily.
14.) 24 Jun 2023 12:53:40
Thank you Clu your posts often ( unintentionally ) make one laugh this latest one being no exception ??
Yes it's so true Clu that with any ' half decent coach' that group of muppets would have stayed up easily. ?? . Bielsa clearly not up to the task either
What Chris said of course #logicalposter.
15.) 24 Jun 2023 22:23:16
So Baz you do finally accept that the players bought were good enough to have stayed up, rather than the relegation fodder you consistently labeled them. And yes, Bielsa was up to the task, up to the point in the second Prem season at which his stubborn streak re squad size and inflexible tactics became a problem through injuries, exhaustion etc. Then there was the significant error in letting perceived marketing and financial benefits of choosing Marsch (to help attract US shirt sales etc magnets Adams and Aaronson) cloud footballing judgement in picking Marcelo’s replacement.
16.) 25 Jun 2023 00:16:04
Lol Clu the tone of my post went way over your head
The fact that I said I agreed with Chris post content . should be a BIG clue.
17.) 25 Jun 2023 08:22:49
Baz - the tone of your comment didn’t go over my head, as I suspected that was your angle, but we live in hope that you can actually understand that a better coach could have got a proper tune out of this group of players, most of whom will go on to have success at other clubs, or indeed with us if they stay.
It apparently escaped your notice that Bielsa wasn’t in any way involved in last season and that there were quite a number of changes to the squad. Hence your point re Bielsa was somewhat moot anyway - but I had let that slide.
Just out of interest, are so prone to ranting and refusing to accept that maybe you weren’t totally right on something in your everyday real life, or is this just a persona you like to put across on this forum?
03 Jun 2023 16:15:27
My first choice for manager has to be Carlos his record against Huddersfield and West Brom but also look happened when he left Utd after finishing our first season in the premiership in 9th Utd never recovered Bielsa got the sack and only Newcastle stopped us being relegated (not Marsh! ) My 2nd choice would be Scott Parker anyone who can get two teams promoted to the Premiership has to be onto something My 3rd choice is anybody but G Gerrard!
1.) 03 Jun 2023 17:05:17
Agree on Carlos, not sure about Parker, but 100% in agreement re Gerrard - please, no!
2.) 03 Jun 2023 17:13:25
Welcome ? moortown.
3.) 03 Jun 2023 17:56:14
Depends who is making the decision
If its Luton loving Angus Kinnear . David Pleat is a shoe in
If its SF49ers . then Leeds hating compatriot Alexi Lalas . ok maybe not
If its PR Radz . Corberan but he would probably say no again . so maybe Gerrard and Gary Mac .
Dark horses . Georgey and Chris .
4.) 03 Jun 2023 18:06:49
Moortown. My choice is Carlos. He turned us down once though!
5.) 03 Jun 2023 20:28:11
Was Carlos actually offered the job, or was it just media bull that we were being fed ??
We will probably never know, but I'd happily take him.
6.) 03 Jun 2023 20:56:06
Rather not have Parker, as it would be good to have a manager who we’d be able to stick with if/ when promoted to the Prem, and I’m not convinced that his previous record up there is good enough.
Of course, Corberan doesn’t have any record at all in the Prem, which would be my main concern with him, and he was merely assistant coach in our Champ winning season. He was unlucky with Huddersfield, and did well to get the Baggies so close to the play-offs, having taken over the reins when they were second bottom in the table (after 16 games) and rock bottom in confidence. His return to Leeds does of course appeal to the romantic side of us fans, with his links to Bielsa and the football and world view he espoused and the hope that in some way Carlos would be able to replicate the magic we enjoyed at that time - though hopefully with a touch of pragmatism as used in his successful translation of Bielsaball for the u23s.
Cambridge, the main reason Corbs turned us down is that he tends to be loyal so didn’t want to walk out on West Brom part way through the season.
7.) 03 Jun 2023 22:49:00
Corberon done a great job after taking over with brom second bottom. But the wheels totally fell off last dozen games or so. That’s a worry to me. Also he’s apparently very aloof with the players and a hard task master. Bielsa similar but at least he’s the type of character who you want to give a cuddle to.
8.) 04 Jun 2023 07:23:58
Good point clue not saying I wouldn’t want him as a result only i felt it made it less likely Personally would like to see him get a shot. He served his apprenticeship under Bielsa and although not a reason to employ added to his other achievements makes him a favourite in My eyes.
