Cellino's to do list over the international break.

1) sign up Pontus.
2) sign up Pontus.
3) sign up Pontus.
4) sign up Pontus.
5) sit back and relax knowing that we are far more likely to gain promotion now that we have signed Pontus.
6) tell Eleonora there's no way she's going out in a skirt that short.
7) let her off because she's meeting Pontus.

Looks like you missed the last few steps Horrorspoke, don't worry i've got your back.

8) Realise in all the excitement over Pontus that he forgot to thrash out a deal to sign Bartley.
9) Signs Bartley.
10) Pours himself a large drink because he deserves one after all the good work.

2.) 06 Oct 2016 13:18:55
So do you think Cellino should sign Pontus then, Horrorspoke?

3.) 07 Oct 2016 15:27:09
Pontus has to play 20 games then we can buy him for 3.6 million.

So that's 1-5 sorted.

We do need to sign Bartley, i'd love that.

Best signing of the season (besides Gary Monk) for me is O'Kane.

Hi guys.

Thanks for the kind words Baz, before I begin.

Just wanted to say I am a mega Leeds fan, I have posted before but a heck of a long time ago. I'm angry with how things have turned out. I'm angry that Bielsa was given so little respect (let us not forget that the upturn in results coincided with the return of many of the first tram which were unavailable to him due to injury) .

I'm angry that Radz dare to try and use ER in collateral for the purchase of Sampdoria. It goes without saying really.

I'm angry that Orta was allowed to carry on for so long in his role, recrutijg players and having a say in managerial recruitment.

However. I do believe that we may have a new beginning. It's a bunch of American folk, I can deal with that. They have the funds. If they want a return on investment then they're bot going to let us languish here.

Anyway, that's my rant. And I hope it's Farke.

Welcome back Horror. I think many of us on here echo those sentiments.

2.) 28 Jun 2023 23:15:03
Welcome back brother Horrorspoke ?

Good post the most pertinent being your penultimate paragraph.

Season 24/ 25 though not this forthcoming season 23/ 24

Its looking like a bumpy hard slog ahead this season ; we might come strong second half of season after a hopefully strong Jan. window

Defo hope its Farke too . but when for gawd sake?!

3.) 28 Jun 2023 23:19:18
P. S. I also concur with your dislike and distaste of Radz and Orta

I hope they bomb with Sampdoria and Sevilla respectively

And as for another one of my dislikes. the EFL. well.

4.) 28 Jun 2023 23:56:52
Welcome back Pal, the more the merrier be great if we could have more posters than Leeds investors this season.

I wonder how many regular posters there are on this Site, sure the Ed’s can confirm but I’d guess at around 20-25?

But again, welcome back, Woody would be icing on the cake for the new season?

I don't post too often, maybe a couple of times last season, but I'm here every day ?

I just wondered how everyone feels about a new striker coming in, with regards to the development of Joffy? I would really like to see him get some more game time this season, especially when games are pretty much done and dusted (if we find ourselves in that position of course) .

If we get another striker in, who will likely be a starter / backup to Bamford, where does that leave him? I imagine he's been given assurances to sign the new contract, but, with Bamford, Rodrigo and the new striker in a first team squad, will he actually get any minutes? Or are we resigned to the fact that Greenwood is no longer a striker, and maybe an AM?

Just wondering.

Oh, and I do want another striker in by the way ?.

Horror ? New striker a must as it's only a matter of time before Paddy on the treatment table. Joffy is a classic sub after an hour. ? must keep, possibly new Pablo, excellent visionary passing and we know can strike free kicks. Can see him regularly coming on as sub for Aaronson after 75 minutes or so. No player is going to impede Joffy Jimmy or Sam development. Club have made some excellent strategic and recruitment decisions since the window opened. The truly interesting choice which will likely arise over the next fortnight is when Barcodes come back with a £40M bid for Jackie H. Cue BBOOGG for a repeated rant.

2.) 01 Aug 2022 20:27:24
Horror, I just don’t think we can rely on Bamford (injuries) or Rodders ( form) to be consistent. That’s why I feel we are looking for a new forward. I've no doubt joffy and greenwood will get game time
Id love to see Rodders step up and be the star playmaker we need, but I just don’t think he has it in him on the consistent basis we need at this level sadly.

3.) 01 Aug 2022 21:24:55
It only takes further injuries to injury prone Bambam and Gelhardt and Radz and Victor will have wished they had signed 2 more strikers not just 1.

4.) 01 Aug 2022 21:34:00
Horror, I really understand your concerns. It’s difficult to know just how good Joffy and Greenwood are without giving them a sustained run and are they ready for that. I like them both, watched a lot of them playing together in the 23s and they know each other’s game very well. Greenwood trusted in the final game of last season and Joffy showing his class in his appearances. They need game time, so I hope there is a plan for them even if it’s regular 30 mins or so. A year where they both warm the bench but don’t play much football, not very helpful!

5.) 01 Aug 2022 22:00:22
Spanish the problem I see is that there's zero room for sentiment or development in the Prem .

Whilst we all want best for joffy + Sam I seriously don't think we can rely on them to chip in with the essential goals required from the off .

As we all know we have a relatively handy August schedule, wouldn't it have been great to have had our full recruitment done by now and give ourselves. our best chance to accrue points.

Sam + joffy imo are quality in depth and essential members of a much needed bigger better squad .

We need a goal scorer desperately though to convert the better chances we will definitely create from midfield this season

Here hoping. for. a great start pal ???.

6.) 01 Aug 2022 22:16:11
I think we proved beyond reasonable doubt last year that what we have isn't enough.

7.) 02 Aug 2022 00:03:46
Having 5 subs available this season should give Geldhart more game the man is 20 not a kid he doesn't need nurturing anymore.

8.) 02 Aug 2022 00:06:05
Jimmy is Dutch.

9.) 02 Aug 2022 07:34:58
The problem last year was the Joffy was not preferred up front and James was selected that was a major reason for lack of goals. Will happily chase everything but not a goal scorer. IMO we’d have had more chance up front with Joffy.

10.) 02 Aug 2022 07:43:07
Gelhardt will not start ahead of Bamford. What doesn’t look good on his stats sheet from last season is that he had 20 appearances and only 2 goals, but remember that was in a dis functional free falling team last season so he just didn’t get the service.
What Joffy needs to do this season hopefully is obviously score more goals, same goes if we do have a new striker come in which will further limit his game time.
He’s got to take his chances when he is given them and he will get chances, there’s no given at this level of football and Joffy knows that.
Personally I believe he is destined for great times at Elland rd, patience is required but he will know he has to push on from now and find the net at every opportunity.

11.) 02 Aug 2022 09:29:43
What OP said, but would also like to add that of those 20 games he only started 5. 2 goals and 4 assists isn't bad considering how many he started. Expecting more from him this season, though.

12.) 02 Aug 2022 12:31:53
What Dillinger said. 20 matches, but only a total of 732 minutes. Many senior players in the Prem would love to have picked up a goal involvement for every 122 minutes played last season.

13.) 02 Aug 2022 16:25:36
Exactly Clu. When you look into the numbers a little deeper his stats become a lot better.

Everyday my 90 year old neighbour who has alzhiemers knocks on my door and asks me if I've seen his wife.

And everyday I have to tell that 90 year old man his wife has been long dead.

You know, I have thought of not answering the door. I have even thought about moving house.

But you know it's worth it each time, just to see the smile on his face.

PS, loving the jokes at the moment. Most of mine are waaay too dark to be posted here 😂.

I may well be in 'cloud cuckoo land', but I genuinely believe that we could seal promotion at Griffin Park on Monday evening.

I can see Sheff playing out a draw with Forest, and losing at Hull.

Horrorspoke

1.) 18 Apr 2019 11:25:43
Let's beat Wigan first . then see what's ahead on Monday.

2.) 18 Apr 2019 11:44:08
I agree, but taking all things into account, We have the Championship's best home record, whereas Wigan have the worst away record. Forest have drawn over 50% of their away matches this season, and Hull City have the 6th best home record. The only concern for me is Brentford have a good home record (4th) , and we tend not to do so well there.

If the results pan out as I expect them too though, I believe our passion will see us through there. I don't really want a nailbiting Villa encounter, not with them in their current form anyways.

3.) 18 Apr 2019 12:40:23
One thing Bielsa does really well is concentrate on each game. All we can do against Wigan is make sure we get three points and then regroup again for Brentford. One game at a time, 4 more times!

4.) 18 Apr 2019 12:45:45
If Hull are still in playoff contention by Monday they will be tough to beat.

What a result yesterday. I don't really care how we played, although from what I've seen (and heard) we deserved the win. Unfortunately I was at work, and even though I defied all company rules, and took my mobile on to the work floor, I was unable to really follow as the managers work about (idiots) . All I really know is, it's been so long since I've seen us in the prem it feels like a lifetime. I was there at the Mestala for the second leg in Valencia, and those times are now so far away I've almost forgotten them - mainly down to excess alcohol etc. All i know for sure is, if Bielsa (who I did know of, and was amazed to see him linked win us, let alone sign) can do this with the players we have now, I am salivating at what he could do with the prem millions.

Onwards and upwards. MOT!

I'm actually friends with charlie's father in law (although he's not married, he's been with her for a while) and he's said that charlie is staying. I quite often see these posts about charlie Taylor, and I don't reply, but he IS staying (there was also a bid from man utd in the close season, and it was refused at charlie's request)

Is this the same McCormack people started moaning about last season? One minute he isn't good enough, the next minute he should be worth 2.5 mil?? Gimee a break!

Byram could well become our 'Gareth Bale', and nobody wants to see him leave. But it would take one hack of a brave board to turn down £8m.

While we are moving in the right direction though I think we should manage to keep hold of him. For now.

I'd like to vote, although I'm not a regular poster, I'm here every day.

1) Baz - might put the cat amongst the pigeons a bit. But he's here, he replies, he has his opinions, and he doesn't beat around the Bush. He'd be first through the door at any party I ever host.

2) Clu - most knowledgeable out of the bunch.

3) Alf - just because I like his posts really. He makes sense.

I watched on iFollow, and it was a very attacking setup. Perkins, Joseph and Joffy were essentially a front 3. It was then a midfield 3 of Greenwood (right) and Gnoto (left) with Gyabi as the holding player. Drameh limped off late on with an injury. Gyabi and Gnoto were standout performers for me too.

Oh and the red (although harsh) was indeed a straight red. Think it was in reaction to a challenge a little beforehand from one of their CB's on Perkins where there was a little bit of afters. We still looked the more dangerous, even with ten men.

Personally I'd plump for Eibar away at Las Palmas, but depends if you want a foreign outsider in there.
