I know I'm a bit previous but if we had the option (as well as the money) is there anyone from either the Hammers or Spurs you would take next season?
For me, a cheeky bid for Bowen wouldn't go a miss.
Play him upfront with DCL and we would have a very useful strike force.
Your thoughts?
10 May 2026 20:20:21
Bowen will probably go to a team further up the league, I would have thought.
10 May 2026 20:23:31
Defo Bowen and the big Cd. But I reckon Alf is right re the first one. Never say never tho!
10 May 2026 20:28:35
100% Cleggy.
He's a top top player, and I think he is 29 years old, so wouldn't cost the previous £60 quoted a few years back.
Alf, we can now compete with 75% of clubs in transfer market, so stop being so bleeding negative!
10 May 2026 21:06:49
Look at Villa a few seasons back. They stayed up by the skin of their teeth first season up, and since then have gone on to be one of the country's top clubs.
That should be our ambition. F*** this 'let's consolidate again next season' b*******. Let's spend a few bob, and go again, and cause absolute mayhem in the EPL.
Cmon the Mighty Whites!
10 May 2026 21:12:47
We are Leeds United Champions of Europe !@
💯 What Corkey said !!
And babychams are on him tonight!
10 May 2026 21:32:40
If we do get to raid Wet Sham, I really like Castellanos, just the kind of additional striker we're looking for, and with current EPL experience, unlike some others who've been suggested. I also like the Wolves lb Krejci as a potential backup to Gabby. Nobody at Burnley, I really fancy.
10 May 2026 21:54:15
Isn't he a CB?
10 May 2026 22:28:27
I definitely would take a couple from spam if they go down. I said a few weeks ago that they have a few decent players.
Not many agreed with my thoughts on Summerville, but I would take him back. Very fast, skillful, can score, and young.
We are going to need a couple of wingers.
Think Okafor good but injury prone, I’d sell/swap plus cash with these 2, Gnonto and James, for Summerville.
I also rate their 2nd choice GK, Iraoela, good shot stopper.
Can’t see Bowen happening, but I do rate him, and lastly I’d take Daisia, their CB that’s on loan, looks good.
10 May 2026 22:34:37
I advocated a hope that, in some ways, West Ham would go down because we can be more competitive in taking some of their players than Spurs, with Porro, Van de Ven, Bentancur, Archie, Solanke, Kulusevski, Maddison, etc. Sadly, I think the one player we would definitely lose out to bigger clubs would be Bowen.
I, however, like the idea (in order) :
Lwb Diouf - the perfect backup/rotation for Gabby.
Stk Castellanos - like his work rate, convinced there'd be goals. If we can offset by convincing them to take Piroe in part exchange, even better.
Cb Disasi - technically Chelsea, but if he remains in their 'bomb' squad, the impact he's had on their defence cannot be overlooked.
Cb Mavropanos - I rate Disasi as better, but Mavropanos profiles nicely too if we couldn't get Disasi.
Wng - try and get Cry back - after a slow start, looks like he's found his place in the Prem. Try and offset with Dan James to West Ham, where he'd be decent in the Champ.
Rwb Walker Peters - don't think he's had an amazing season, but Justin was an excellent change of scenery signing.
To get even two of these would be awesome.
10 May 2026 23:41:22
Diouf is a very good player, but he cost the Hammers twenty odd million and there's no chance we're paying anything like that for a lb.
10 May 2026 18:46:31
Good live chat this evening - hoping for even better on Monday. Leeds are now the King makers or perhaps more like the dunce makers with both contenders to play.
10 May 2026 19:42:11
Agree Prime bloody nerve wracking but great to have so many posters on, brilliant result and well done to DF and the lads, thanks again to the Eds for enabling live chat', even if Brighty did sneak in late to see what action was available 🤣
10 May 2026 18:44:56
That was an absolute disgrace of a call.
Raya's positioning was horrendous, hence he then just panics and mimics a foul.
If that was against us we would all be imploding right now.
That was a goal all day long.
10 May 2026 19:45:11
I thought similar at first, Chris, but on other angles you could see another defender pulling the shirt off him.
One percent correct decision.
10 May 2026 20:01:51
Corkey, I agree. From the first point, I didn't think it was a foul, but after seeing it again and again, you can see the shirt pull, keeping the keeper from jumping up to get the ball. 100% correct call from VAR.
10 May 2026 20:18:22
Rice's foul, with his arms wrapped around Hammer?
10 May 2026 20:27:16
I personally thought it was a foul, but I see what you're saying. At the end of the day, it's left us safe, so I'll just leave the complaining to the spammers. We've had plenty of things go against us in the past in many different ways. Someone else gets their cookie crumbled for a change!
10 May 2026 20:30:21
There was multiple foul play in the area, but the incident that had the biggest impact was the one on Raya. If our keeper had been prevented from getting to the ball, I'm sure we'd not be saying he should be stronger, or keepers get too much protection, or that the opposition were denied a goal.
Despite me thinking keepers are over protected, that was a foul. VAR took a long time in this instance, but the decision had to be right because of the impact on both clubs.
10 May 2026 20:30:59
I should have said one hundred percent!
CC, you had a fiver on City to win the league or what. 🤣🤣🤣
10 May 2026 21:01:36
No, I just genuinely believe it was as soft as a s*** call.
Raya made most out of reading the breakdown of play totally wrong.
For me, it was throwing both hands up in the air to try and over emphasize a foul, which was cringe.
But, that's current day Prem football, I know.
And, as Brighty said, we have had s*** shovelled at us an awful lot down through the years.
10 May 2026 22:34:20
When you're down at the bottom end of the league, most decisions will go against you. It's always been like that.
10 May 2026 18:35:52
Staying up :)
Never in doubt!
10 May 2026 18:43:06
And breathe. lol.
10 May 2026 18:48:52
Hurrah.. safety secured finally!
Felt a very long season.
Some high moments, in particular beating Man U and Chelsea in the EPL, and the FA Cup run to semis.
But, quite a lot of anxiety this season.
Better league placing next season please. 🙏
10 May 2026 19:02:16
Difficult watch this afternoon, and a bit of a rollercoaster, but we've got the right result. Apart from VAR, the two key moments were Raya's save and Odegaard's setting up of Trossard's goal. I think our two keepers are ok, but you can always improve. A good, creative AM can make a difference, and we don't have one.
10 May 2026 19:12:34
The Man U game was the catalyst for us this season.
10 points from 4 games, with the Manchester game the start of it.
That game really gave us the confidence and impudence to drive on.
10 May 2026 19:14:42
Silly to say, but if we had Odegaard or Trossard instead of Aaronson we'd be top 8.
10 May 2026 19:50:34
Agree, Corkey. We do need someone with quick feet and an eye for a pass. They'll score the odd goal but they'll create a lot more. I've always liked Odegaard. He prods and pokes at the defence until he finds an opening.
We could do with someone like him to unlock teams that park the bus. See, Fleming got another today. He's only scored 10 in 27, but in a poor team. He could be on our radar at a reasonable price.
10 May 2026 19:52:52
Talk of Odegaard leaving Arsenal this season happily fetch him myself and fo the sandwiches.
10 May 2026 20:33:02
Agree, Class. I'll even get Baz to massage his problem groin area!
10 May 2026 20:34:15
Odegaard isn't first on the team sheet anymore, but he's only 27, reaching his prime. He won't come to Leeds if he moves, as there'll be plenty of offers from Europe, but he is the sort of player we lack.
10 May 2026 21:10:34
So much negative thinking, Dunelm. Of course he'll come to Leeds, unless he fancies a pay cut in Italy or Spain?
10 May 2026 21:15:19
Never knew Baz had a problem groin area, Corkey. If it's lucky, give it a shot. Great player, our new Pablo.
10 May 2026 21:57:25
Class. 😳🤣
10 May 2026 23:05:21
What's all this malarkey about my and Odegaard's groin areas, Corkey and Class?
No need to fret, we are both in tip-top condition.
10 May 2026 18:32:54
Thank you VAR. 😁
10 May 2026 18:43:15
Spent the last nearly two hours just looking at BBC Sport on my phone. Bloody Arsenal put 9 goals past us, but scraped through v West Ham. But, we are safe. All that matters. Now go out and play v Spurs.
10 May 2026 18:49:31
Agreed.
It was such an obvious foul.
10 May 2026 14:56:07
Watching Forest game. Notice they played the 'injured goalie' trick.
10 May 2026 16:03:32
It's more contagious than Hantavirus.
10 May 2026 16:16:22
I'm pretty sure that won't exist next season. How they do it, I'm not sure. Maybe while the keeper is receiving treatment, any player, coach or staff making conversation, it's a yellow card?
Such fine margins in top level football these days that these so called tactical breaks can effectively change a game, and I don't think it's right.
10 May 2026 19:17:34
The game is turning even more rotten recently, OP.
I'd get rid of manager technical areas and make them sit on the bench with their substitutes.
10 May 2026 12:19:27
Hoping for a "day of days" by close of play today, maybe the Eds will open up the "live chat" function for the Spam vs Arse game be great to celebrate with fellow posters on the Site?
{Ed033's Note - Leeds Live chat open for 16:30 Spam vs Arse game today.
10 May 2026 12:35:52
Thanks Ed033 much appreciated, even though I may be alone 😀
10 May 2026 14:14:44
I will be asleep, Class, but will likely wake up about 4am to check result. Fairly confident tbh. West Ham haven't the quality and it's too important to Arsenal.
10 May 2026 14:24:20
Will try and keep the noise to a minimum, Aus.
10 May 2026 14:45:18
In the words of a well-known song -
"I come from a Land Down Under
Where beer does flow and men chunder
Can't you hear, can't you hear the thunder?
10 May 2026 14:53:45
Lurve it, JR.
10 May 2026 05:45:43
Good that Citeh won last night! Pressure on Gooners to perform and bag 3 points for us, and loosen our shackles for Monday. A good 48hrs ahead for us! I can feel it in me stools!
10 May 2026 12:02:45
It's a very interesting game today with Arsenal and West Ham; jeopardy for both teams at both ends of the league.
It makes me wonder how either one will approach the game. I don't think either team will go gung ho at the beginning to force the momentum.
In fact, it will more than likely be a very pragmatic game with neither team wanting to concede a mistake.
If the first 20 minutes is like that, then I can only see a draw which neither team really wants.
If West Ham win, it will likely draw us and Forest back into the relegation tussle and leave Arsenal in a huge problem for their title claim.
There's potentially so much riding on this one single game that it's a must watch for me.
I wouldn't like to bet on this game, but I'm pretty sure I know who I'd prefer to win it.
10 May 2026 14:57:13
Still can't fathom at all how any Leeds United supporter on here, or elsewhere for that matter, would fgs want a West Ham win..
Absolutely mindblowing!
10 May 2026 15:44:10
Perish the thought that I would send tremours through Bazworld by contesting an opinion. May I burn in a bushel for ignoring one of the 10 commandments of Baz. 😆😅
10 May 2026 16:18:17
Agreed, Baz, it's as negative as anyone could be on a Leeds site. 🤭
10 May 2026 16:31:01
Lol, well, White, don't quite see how being confident in Leeds ability is negative? As I have stated before, it's about us, not others.
10 May 2026 18:51:52
Great news, Davey. Leeds are 100% mathematically safe. Yippee.
Now, with pressure totally off for the Leeds United players, more likely we might smash Spuds.
10 May 2026 19:04:02
I get it, Baz, yeah, great news. But believe in our boys, believe in the process. It was never in doubt for me after our recent form. With this squad, this manager, and these owners, we are on the cusp. We are Leeds. We fear no one, and we craft our own destiny.
On to tomorrow, and I hope we rip Spuds a new one, win our last 3, and make a statement. The future is bright. The future is White. So many positives from this season. We all love Leeds and are so proud of the boys' achievements.
09 May 2026 21:45:59
Monday is a big game for us, no matter what other teams do. We go in with tails down and expect a draw. It’s not a good sign - we need to show fight and grit
It’s not over yet, and we need to seal the deal
Mot.
