Somehow in a hotly contested game, stats say Man Utd managed to commit just 5 fouls against our 60% possession, whereas we committed 16 against their 40% possession. Guess our crowd did not influence this ref.

We didn't fall over and hold our legs while rolling around like that lot did.

Have to admit, I though Gabby was a tad on the lucky side not to get sent off for the challenge on Amad early on.

I never like advocating for a red for a Leeds player but putting the hat on if that's against us you're screaming for it. The sessegnon one as highlighted on MOTD was very similar and was a red. Ditto the Messi one at the world cup vs. Algeria.

I wonder if it was a true red for Gabby because in real time it looked like it lacked force, but I don't really know if that's a factor anymore.

I also thought trying to claim Maguire was impeded for the equaliser was a non-starter, and that we should have had a pen from Maguire a few minutes later.

What did non Leeds/ Man Utd supporting eds think?

Everton Need More Than Moyes' Stability

{Ed's Note - OptimumShots has posted a new article entitled, Everton Need More Than Moyes' Stability

How bad were Man Uyd today? The worst Man U team I've ever seen.

As for us. Well we, despite all the effort, were just off it today. In saying that Tarik and Amps were terrific and Tarik is an absolute joy to watch. Early days I know but we will do well to keep him next season.
Lots of passes and crosses went astray and I'm not feeling Stach in the number 10 position.

5

18 Oct 2026 23:06:37
Yes Yanited were terrible. Cowardly performance really they just sat back and tried to hit us on the counter. Quite embarrassing really for a team once known for attacking.

2

19 Oct 2026 08:16:56
Not having a go here now, but Farke telling us all we deserved too win ?
No we didn't, we didn't create enough against a urine Utd, A draw was right result in end, we need goals throughout team and that's not happening currently.

Having said that obviously happy we on the brighter side of table and not bottom dwelling currently.

4

19 Oct 2026 13:44:06
Does Farke and co know why we didn't beat that crap team? Cause about every single Leeds fan does.

1

19 Oct 2026 17:54:16
Man U are defo not "crap "
.they have Mbeumo, Fernandez for starters.but yes they are definitely not of anywhere near the standard of course of any of Fergies teams of the 90s etc.

4

19 Oct 2026 23:18:14
They are crap Baz. Well, the way they are set up and playing this season has them down as crap in my book. Ipswich look a better organisation.

18 Oct 2026 18:00:28
Plan points a point.
I think our slack passing at times and awful crosses and set pieces have become a theme for the season.
Justin and Okafor seem to over hit every cross.
Final decisions passing at the wrong time as well. Just not quite there at the moment in the attacking third.

6

18 Oct 2026 18:13:32
Good post Devon. JJ was unusually poor with his crosses today. Unfortunately it's becoming a theme with Okafor. In saying that we are way more dangerous with Okafor on the pitch.

6

18 Oct 2026 19:09:05
Bogle's crosses were decent, Justin less so, GG had one very decent looking one in the second half.

Think it looked like they flooded the midfield. Tielemans, Fernandes, Baleba, Santos made it hard for both teams to attack, and few clear cut chances for either team bar the goals.

Our opening seven games get a nice 8/10 from me. We held Brighton and Brentford (that former result looking increasingly impressive in the context) . 9/10 would have been a Palace win. 9.5 = turning today or Arsenal into a better result.

We have to really fancy Sunderland away. Ballard injured, Danso suspended and their defence in general had a horror show today. They also have an away tie in Europa midweek. Chance for the legs to get tired, heads to drop if they lose again. Don't want injuries to happen either but they could.

Cant help but wonder if Bahoya is knocking on the door for a few more minutes with Okafor struggling. Have to admit I roll my eyes watching Nmecha come on to play wide every time. He can do it as a stopgap but not brilliant at it.

8

19 Oct 2026 13:07:40
Brobbey and Isidor also out injured yesterday, here's wishing them both a delayed recovery.

1

19 Oct 2026 16:46:17
Jut a hint of caution because Palace had injuries (Riad, Mateta, Sarr not fit for 90, Henderson) and suspensions (Disasi) galore and we still couldn't beat them, the one really poor performance this season. To do that twice against depleted, average teams would be disappointing.

19 Oct 2026 17:58:32
Peeps need to reconcile themselves to not that many wins and a lot of draws incoming this seez

Sunderland vs Leeds a nil nil draw my prediction.

0

18 Oct 2026 17:15:21
Being made favorites for this game was always going to be a bad omen.
A least we didn't lose, seventh in the league and two points away from a European place, early days but it is what it is. Not much to complain about in my opinion.

Or do you expect more ?

6

18 Oct 2026 17:49:35
10 points from 21 points a solid start.

Just the one win out of 4 EPL games at home.I would hope for more.

4

19 Oct 2026 00:19:17
As above I think the context of the home results in isolation deserve a solid 7/10. Unbeaten and really did well to be so after the Brentford first half.

Today - never easy for both teams. They were fired up like they haven't been in other games because it was us.

Newcastle - shows how good we can be.
Palace - if that is us at our worst at home it's not a bad season.

Overall we've lost once from the opening seven, played two of the traditional 'big six' (such an outdated phrase anyway) played two of the actual formsetters and not played any of the promoted teams or true strugglers in Sunderland and Fulham (alright maybe a case for forest) .

So in hindsight it's a really solid start. Very little easy about it. Next two are big opportunities though (Sunderland and Bournemouth) two wins it becomes a 10/10 start. No wins drags us into average territory.

3

19 Oct 2026 18:01:32
Leeds defo wont beat Bournemouth away Ealing.slim chance we beat Sunderland away.

0

18 Oct 2026 15:54:47
I think a bit more practice at passing would be in order.

6

18 Oct 2026 15:59:01
Infuriating today, Justin being 1 of worst.

3

18 Oct 2026 16:08:16
.also cant wait for the the return of Joe Rodon in this team.his presence and defending.we need clean sheets as we struggle to score more than one

only one match in seven have we scored more than once.

6

18 Oct 2026 17:59:32
I had a feeling this one was not going to be as easy as many thought. After all the extravagant score forecasts, and people saying this was a good time to play them, I was worried we might get turned over, and in the end am content with a draw.

We should have had a pen when Maguire tried to pull Amps head off, but amazingly VAR checked and passed it, but that don't surprise me. As per usual Fernandes and Co spent half the time whingeing and moaning when things didn't go their way.

6

18 Oct 2026 18:19:27
I thought overall we were the better team today but I woi argue about the draw.
We're scoring at about the same rate as we did last year but goals conceded is way better. Probably only Arsenal and Brighton behave conceded fewer. We are a difficult team to beat but the results are probably reflecting the Summer transfer activity.

We recruited very well at the back but apart from Wilson, who's not going yet, we added no experience up front where there was an obvious need for better competition for places and cover if one of the two strikers got injured.
DCL is performing well but it would be nice to have someone else who can push him more than Nmecha.

5

18 Oct 2026 18:34:19
Nmecha is. in the whole fairly pointless let's be honest, we are definitely going. to be. light. in the goals dept this Seez, What' was the point of taking Bahoya ? Today was a game crying out for a winger to take game head on,and yet we failed miserably out wide, only consolation for me was Brendan didn't make an appearance.

5

18 Oct 2026 19:12:21
Last year after 7 games we were 15th on 8 pts having scored 7 goals and conceded 11. This year 7th place on 10 pts scored 9 and conceded 6 so better on every metric. The 45% reduction in goals against is particularly pleasing.

2

18 Oct 2026 19:27:59
There's not much point doing a Jim Bowen on it ( telling us what we could have won ) Sunderland good last Seez not so much this Seez, they can't use this as leverage if the slide continues

My point is, that was then
This is now

Utd were there for all 3 yet we did struggle a fair bit against them. God forbid if Dom pulls a. sicky, those numbers you speak of will diminish quicker than we'd all appreciate.

2

18 Oct 2026 21:02:26
Indeed Chris scary thought

as a DCL injury would turn us into a sort of George Graham's no goals scored team of 1996/97.

2

18 Oct 2026 18:16:36
I was amazed the commentators didn't comment more on Amps clear cut penalty.
Neville is a twat but usually quite impartial.

2

19 Oct 2026 12:14:46
Nothing personal Chris, but one of my pet hates is seeing people refer (as you did) to Man Utd as "United". There is no football team called "United", there's a Leeds United, a Manchester United, and 7 or 8 other Uniteds in the PL and EFL, and in this city when we say "United" it ain't the shower from Manchester we're referring to.

Please use the correct terminology in future.
To Corkey, I agree about nobody commenting on Amps missed penalty, on the BBC MOTD, the incident was not even included in their coverage.

1

https://liverpool-rumours.co.uk/uploads/thumb_Ed001.png avatar{Ed001's Note - please do not use manure to refer to them, it is highly offensive as it originates from a song sung about the Munich disaster, which had a line about them all being manure in the snow or something like that.}

1

19 Oct 2026 13:17:24
Sorry Ed, never my intention to reference Munich, though I do think it's high time that sleeping dog is allowed to lie after 68 years. I've seen that word used by others here, and always thought of it as just being ManU with a couple of letters added.

Ask anyone the world over who you speak of when you say "Utd" and it's "Man" in front of it.

Obviously, we don't like it, but to suggest other than that is just wrong as famous as our name is let's be honest.
We will never be as well known around the world as them

Don't shoot zee messenger.

0

19 Oct 2026 15:06:02
Only 3 "Utd" In the Prem.

0

19 Oct 2026 19:07:59
Sheffield United were the first to beat that name.

0

18 Oct 2026 14:52:02
Poor. Too negative. All possession no threat. Possession football is yesterday news. First time ao passed forward was after we went 1-0 down. This is a crap Devon team. Don't press so much. They will give the ball to you. Commentator said. For all their possession. No creativity. Oh really. No decent am and striker then. I did not know that.

2

18 Oct 2026 15:56:54
To sum it up :
shows how good we are becoming and how 💩 man poo have be come.

2

18 Oct 2026 16:03:31
Full time Leeds 1 vs Man U 1 as I predicted

The summer transfer window business looks more and more flawed imo.

Leeds again struggle to create and score and dont get enough clean sheets despite spending £100 million on gks and defenders.

4

18 Oct 2026 16:30:42
Both of which were awesome today Baz 🙄.

5

18 Oct 2026 16:34:26
Ausman, I must have been watching a different game mate, Man U did nothing but press, and press well throughout the game. Also think it's a bit harsh saying we have no striker when DCL had a very good game and finished impeccably.

Whiteman, 100% buddy 👍.

3

18 Oct 2026 16:53:49
Baz with out the defenders and goalkeeper we would have lost, a point is a point.

4

18 Oct 2026 17:10:53
How can you possibly say the summer recruitment was flawed Baz when you look at Trafford, Muharemovic and Elvedi. Give your head a wobble mate.

4

18 Oct 2026 17:52:35
" Awesome' MG ? As in extremely good? Who was awesome and why ?

Unless perhaps you be watching and referring to old videos of your namesake MG Billy Bremner.now he was genuinely awesome.

3

18 Oct 2026 18:00:39
Whitey bud and Davey.

Jimmy Trafford has been ok so far and yes is a promising, good goalie but did we need to spend £45 million on a keeper at the expense of not signing a striker and / or creative player.

2

18 Oct 2026 19:05:01
Watch the game Baz, Trafford and the two new Centre Nacks were ‘extremely good'.
Without them today, we would have achieved 0 points.

3

18 Oct 2026 19:27:27
I did watch the game none of the 3 were extremely good in this match.

2

18 Oct 2026 20:09:00
I agree MG, I thought jimmy and the two centre backs were very good today!
Baz you're like a broken record banging on about £45 million for a keeper!
Like any new player he needs a while to settle in at a new club! Overall I think a draw was all we deserved today!
Well done Baz at least one of your predictions was correct 👏.

2

18 Oct 2026 20:39:28
Baz mate, if you look at it like this we had 3 keepers who were not up to the job we got one that is and will be the best we have not had that in a long time, we will do the same when a striker fits our bill. definitely the defence is top better then it has been.40 mill not looking that bad or do you think we should have kept on buying crap keepers.

Your views are yours and fully entitled to them. we are going in the right direction mate,

3

18 Oct 2026 21:06:38
Better keepers than JT cost much less over past few years.

3

19 Oct 2026 06:49:34
I think the price was higher because MC didn't want to sell him and Leeds wanted him Baz buddy.

1

19 Oct 2026 16:44:03
Have to say, Muharemovic is the star signing, but Elvedi is quietly such a good signing for the money. Looks like a player worth 4 times what we paid. Bornauw wasn't bad but such an upgrade.

My question is if everyone is fit and ready, what does the back three look like? Does one of Justin or Elvedi drop for Rodon, hard to see for Justin with the understanding that Justin and Bogle have.

Overall I feel like 90% of the time it won't be a problem. There'll be an injury, a suspension that allows everyone to get enough minutes seamlessly. Its quite encouraging to see such strength in depth across Justin, Muharemovic, Elvedi, Rodon and Bijol, who cant even get a look in right now.

1

19 Oct 2026 18:09:20
Rodon and Tarek defo starters. with Elvidi

We need clean sheets.
