So it's ok for vile to field a b team against spuds then as if by magic have their a team ready for florists, brings into question the integrity of the EPL as a competition.
07 May 2026 23:30:44
A team that didn't seem to try too hard either !
However, you got to somewhat begrudgingly say that Emery certainly has the knack of getting teams to Europa Cup finals.
Isn't this his 7th time (and he's won it 5 times so far) ?
08 May 2026 06:57:22
Agree 1970, but I admit, of the two teams left in it last night, overall, I'm glad Florists are out after their owners' underhanded shenanigans in denying Palace's rightful place in the competition over multiple club ownership, when everyone knows he's still in charge at Forest, even if he has purportedly released control to his board.
The fact Palace secured their place in their final hopefully added to the pain for the mad dictator.
08 May 2026 20:09:51
It may show what we should have done ahead of the FA Cup semi-final. We wouldn't have been complaining if it got us to the final, would we?
07 May 2026 20:35:35
According to Steven Gerrard, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia was on Leeds Unitedโs shortlist ahead of the 21/22 season. He was then with Rubin Kazan in Russia after contributing to 12 goals the previous season. Allegedly Leeds had talks with him and his camp, but ultimately chose to sign Dan James instead. What a signing he'd have been!
08 May 2026 07:23:56
Think the Ukraine war had a big part of us missing out on him, JR!
He said himself that Leeds were in contact!

{Ed's Note - Ed001 has posted a new article entitled, Manchester United v Liverpool - A Quick Liverpool Perspective
07 May 2026 19:12:31
Interesting analysis Ed001.
.so this season is this ( one of ) the worst ever Liverpool teams in your opinion?
on a par with some of the Liverpool 1990s teams perhaps?
{Ed001's Note - no, the team is mainly good but mismanaged.}
07 May 2026 20:41:02
The same could be said of 90s Liverpool teams Ed? Some excellent players but under performed?
{Ed001's Note - less so, but yes I agree with that.}
07 May 2026 11:42:21
Are we not safe due to GD if Wet Sham even have a draw and not win out? Or am I missing something.
07 May 2026 13:58:41
They need to win all three, and we lose all three, or their two wins need to be big and our losses big. Spam ain't winning another game imo. Maybe us, cause we will be on beach lol.
07 May 2026 14:00:48
1970, if West Ham fail to win, then we would be essentially safe.
Personally, I think we will get our own points anyhow to render West Ham's results meaningless.
A draw for West Ham is my torn hope; we become essentially safe, and Arsenal back on parity with City for the league title.
07 May 2026 14:26:00
Their GD is -19 and ours -5. If we lose all 3, and they win 2 and draw 1, they'd still need a movement of 15 goals across 5 'non drawn' games, or 3 per game - possible, but unlikely.
07 May 2026 15:29:30
Imagine the melt down on here, myself probably included, if Hammers beat Arsenal and we lose to Spurs?!
07 May 2026 16:26:24
I really don't want to think about such a possibility, my nerves wouldn't stand it.
07 May 2026 16:28:39
Hope I am completely wrong, but Spuds will likely beat Leeds, Corkey, imo..
So, we defo need Gooners to, at the very least, draw, but preferably win, then it's cigar and bevvies time..
Finally..
07 May 2026 17:19:43
The site would crash, Corkey!
07 May 2026 17:37:48
Why would Spursy beat the Mighty Whites? We won't roll over. Farke, as stated, wants 9 more points. Up The Whites Down The Pints. ๐ค๐๐
07 May 2026 18:56:45
Err, well, Adrenalin72 (good name, by the way) .
1) Spursy have already beaten this Leeds team this season, and they have won the past 5 matches vs Leeds, scoring 16 goals and conceding 6 goals.
2) Let's be frank, Spursy have better players than Leeds, and, most crucially for them, they are responding positively to De Zerbi.
They played well under De Zerbi at home to Brighton and away to Villa.
3) Sorry. but Farke Leeds teams have bottled important pressure matches.
- our 23/24 season run in.
- playoff final.
And, to a lesser extent, FA Cup semi.
07 May 2026 20:18:46
I agree, Baz, that Leeds have bottled certain big games, but we have definitely not bottled the last four, three wins and a draw, all of which were 100% pressure games.
The word "bottle" gets banded about way too much in football.
Most often it's just "on the day".
If you truly believe in teams bottling it, then our greatest ever side were the biggest bottlers of all time. Don Revie's great team.
07 May 2026 21:07:40
I don't agree with Revie's teams bottling it.. Have had this debate before re injustices etc.
Along with many very good teams..
Leeds were going deep in 4 competitions each season, Corkey, with same players each match (crucially very small squads, in those days) , and missed out on many more trophies as a result imo.
07 May 2026 21:37:09
I agree, Baz, that's my point.
Sometimes you just lose games?
Funny, I actually believe Leeds "bottled" it first half against Chelsea.
As for small squads, every team was in the same boat those days.
07 May 2026 22:29:08
I'm afraid Cork is right, Baz. Revie's team, whether you like it or not, didn't bottle it, but lost the chance to win many trophies during that period because they failed to seize the opportunity.
As regards Spurs, they are a really crap football team right now, and the reason why they have been around the relegation zone for the last two seasons is because they are a crap football team.
Regardless of any past meetings against Spurs, I will be massively surprised and disappointed if we don't beat them on Monday.
07 May 2026 23:13:49
They failed to seize some opportunities, OP, but there's also far more to it than that, far more other reasons from 1970 to 1975 in particular.
As regards Spuds, hopefully you are proved right, right, but I doubt it.
08 May 2026 09:36:13
Don't forget, lack of subs in those days meant players played too much and were often injured.
Hard to compete on multiple fronts then!
08 May 2026 13:20:52
Exactly Canada. ๐ฏ
08 May 2026 14:10:49
Didn't bother Liverpool in the 70s.
08 May 2026 14:29:22
How about we rejoice in what our boys are doing rather than what others are, just a thought. I mean, if you are gonna fret all season on others' performance, it's a bit pointless, really. If we perform, it is insignificant what others do. If we don't, then we deserve what we get.
07 May 2026 08:13:44
Iโve got a sneaky Mbappe will be at Pool or City next season.
07 May 2026 11:58:11
The online petition demanding that Madrid sell him has just topped 27M signatures!!. ๐ฒ๐
07 May 2026 14:12:43
Probably 26.9M of them are Atletico or Barca fans.
07 May 2026 15:06:11
Think he needs to be loved, so will end up in England. Cause love comes at a price.
07 May 2026 17:21:38
It just topped 30m during the course of the day! Can we all now invade the Madrid website and make him player of the year too?. ๐๐๐

06 May 2026 20:46:06
Iโd imagine even the most fanatical Spurs fans will want Arsenal to win their next game?
Especially after Leeds thump them at their glorious new stadium!
I donโt normally bet on Leeds but Iโve lumped on a biggish bet at 16/5.
06 May 2026 21:24:27
Yeah Spuds (and indeed Leeds) fans cheering on Gooners next Sunday.. a very rare occurrence indeed!
And, re your Leeds to beat Spuds bet.. We all hope so.. babychams ๐พ on you, Corkey!
07 May 2026 06:53:43
If Arse win on Sunday, we're mathematically safe, but Spuds are not, so they'll have to try to win on Monday, which could play into our hands. It could come down to our final game of the season to decide which of them faces the drop.
07 May 2026 07:36:34
Don't want any Negative Nelly v Spuds. Safe or not. Give em hell.
06 May 2026 08:07:39
Not seen much of Championship this season but just noticed that ex Leeds, Jack Clarke from Ipswich scored 17 goals, not too shabby, would he be worth bringing back?
For me Iโd sell James and Gnonto and probably need 2 wingers, I would like Harry Wilson too.
06 May 2026 08:19:34
Defo sell DJ, but I'm still undecided on Willy (phnaar!) . DJ did a great job for us, but won't cut it as we try to progress. WG, for me, is a player who needs full matches to get up to speed, and build confidence, and he's had zero time consistently this seez.
Still a talented young player to come out, and I'd hate to see it at another team.
PS. Where has ILoveKoch gone?
06 May 2026 08:23:46
Would sell James for Clarke, but not Gnonto. However, not sure Clarke is prem quality. Looking for upgrades this window.
06 May 2026 10:29:21
As per usual during the summer we will be linked with 1001 players with none of them coming to Elland Road.
Much like Stach, Gabby and Okafor, we will probably never have heard of the player before. Not that that's a problem, as all three have been successful recruits.
It is usually when a player is from the Prem or the Championship there's often some truth behind the rumour.
I think we will be in for one or two free transfers and Harry Wilson does look likely, as we were in for him before.
As Bright pointed out, Dan James could be on his way out. Not sure what he does for us anymore, as he's constantly on the treatment table, and I'm not sure Farke fancies him cutting it in the Prem. Maybe one of the promoted clubs might come in for him.
Agree with Aus on Clarke, he didn't impress at Spurs and I'm not sure he'd be Premiership quality.
Don't sell Willy.
06 May 2026 11:17:53
Maybe a newly promoted club, Coventry or Ipswich, could be interested in DJ, but he is on a pretty high salary of ยฃ60,000 to ยฃ70000 plus bonuses a week for 3 more years to 2029.
And, in any case, I would be very surprised if Leeds United sold him.
He isn't going to a Champo club on his contract and salary. That's for sure. ๐ค
06 May 2026 11:49:41
What OP said. Don't bother with the click bait, guys, out of the blue is more likely. The only 2 well-advertised early as top targets were Bijol and Stach. Good jobs there.
06 May 2026 14:56:34
If we were playing with wingers, I'd see no reason to sell DJ, as he won't be worth much, and he always has that chance he might do something. However, with the seemingly new formation meaning we barely use them, I see no reason to keep him. If we change mid-match to wingers, then Gnonto would be my preferred option to bring on.
06 May 2026 17:05:07
One standout feature of this season has been Farke's newfound willingness to change formation, sometimes even midway through a match. If we want to change to a formation using wingers, then DJ is an ideal player to bring on.
His pace against tiring defenders is a potent weapon. If it were a toss up whether to keep DJ or keep Willy, then my preference would be to keep DJ, but ideally I'd prefer to keep both.
06 May 2026 19:00:00
What JR said 100%.
07 May 2026 07:38:33
Dan The BeverleyBullet James has signed a new contract till 2029.
It was on the Leeds podcast with Bridges & Dallas.
I would keep him, he's been unlucky with injury.
07 May 2026 15:09:09
Nah. James not good enough. Need upgrades now. Willy and Ramy and tbh Gabby better. The only reason Gabby stats bad are conversion of strikers. How many assists and goals have bog and just got?
James is lightweight.
07 May 2026 16:33:44
Without 40 plus goals and assists in past 2 seasons, Danny James.. Leeds United would still be a Champo club.
He's been injured this season, let's see how he does next season..
One thing's for sure, he will still be a Leeds United player next season.
07 May 2026 17:24:13
I think, had he not delivered those stats, we'd have had another player do it. It's not quite that black and white.
07 May 2026 17:47:33
All these posters saying DJ isn't good enough, same with Pascal. Do you actually go to Church & watch them.. I think not!
07 May 2026 19:00:35
Possibly, to an extent, Bright.
But absolutely no guarantee another player (instead of DJ) would have been anywhere near as effective with goals and assists.
