Taxi for Howe soon enough.
Would Leeds fans take him as manager?
Think today will seal his fate.

13 Apr 2026 04:22:19
Good question, Chris. Not sure tbh. He is struggling with a good team, but has done well with limited resources before.

1

13 Apr 2026 08:01:47
That step up from being a good manager to an elite manager, I believe, is a divide that Howe does not have the knowledge and ability to achieve.
The expectations of Newcastle fans and their love of Eddie Howe will wither eventually, I feel, but would he satisfy the enormous expectations of Leeds fans?
I think Howe would have enough stock already to take on a club that is in a much healthier position than Leeds United.

A decision for a club owner, which is a huge risk in financial terms and an emotional, depressing one for the fans if it goes pear shaped, as we all witness so often today in the manager merry-go-round of Premiership football.

Trouble is, at Newcastle, they have not replaced Isak. Wissa has not got going and Waltermader looks like he needs a year or so to get into English football.
Add in a few injuries, and their season has passed them by.

2

13 Apr 2026 13:28:43
Hope they keep Howe, as it would be a very tempting prospect for either Glasner or Iraola.

1

13 Apr 2026 13:45:28
Good point, class.

13 Apr 2026 14:03:22
I've always liked Howe, and would take him like a shot if we were in the market for a new manager, which at the moment we ain't. Both fans and owners at Newcastle had unreasonable expectations of the pace of change resulting from the injection of Saudi billions, which have not yet been realised, and are now getting prematurely impatient.

I think he'll come good if they give him time, but that may not happen. As a team, they never properly replaced Isak, and bought Woltemade on a whim, who is a completely different player, and Wissa, who is OK but not the old fashioned number 9 they want him to be. I always saw Howe as a future England manager, but that seems unlikely, for now at least.

1

13 Apr 2026 14:13:31
Isak not pulling up trees, is he. Can't blame selling him.

0

13 Apr 2026 14:29:08
Sorry, Class, but being uber realistic.

Glasner and especially Ireola are never ever coming to Leeds.. they will have far better choices this summer.

13 Apr 2026 16:39:55
What do Spuds say, Baz?

'Dare to dream'.

Never done them any harm. 🤣

And, you never know, both Bournemouth in particular and Palace were not so far ahead of us at the time. The stadium improvements and a concerted amount of wooing from 49ers may just be enough.

That and my nightly prayers.

1

13 Apr 2026 19:42:38
It's nightmares rather than dreams for Spuds at the moment. 💀

None of our relegation partners, Spurs, West Ham and Forest, have an easy run-in over the next 6/7 games.
We have to play Man U and Bournemouth away, and if we get something from those games it's a bonus. However, we have home games against the two worst teams in the division, plus another against Brighton, which we should be capable of getting something out of.

The other two aways are against Spurs and West Ham. I'd settle for two draws against them.
I think it's basically in our own hands and so long as we get six points against Wolves and Burnley we're in with a fighting chance. Mess that up, then we're struggling.

3

12 Apr 2026 22:20:46
I was thinking during the week that Spurs away is the game. Proper six pointer.
You'll all probably disagree, but right now I'd take four points from Wolves n Burnley.

2

12 Apr 2026 22:46:13
We need 6 points from Wolves and Burnley, and draws against Spurs and West Ham. I'd rather not have to visit the Hammers needing a result on the last day, but if we do, then once again it's up to us to get the outcome we need.

3

13 Apr 2026 11:19:59
I agree we need those 6 points, but am not convinced we will get them.
Daniel Farke's record is not great against Parker.

1

13 Apr 2026 14:32:35
Corkey, it's about time Farkey put Parker back in his pen case.

We simply must beat Burnley and Wolves.

As I expect Leeds to lose all 4 remaining away matches.

Thank you Sunderland and Villa. What a horrible git Brian Brobbey is. Wish we had him. Great find along with a few others.

2

12 Apr 2026 16:58:12
It was well known that Brobbey was available towards the end of the transfer window. They made a move, we didn't. Qed.

1

12 Apr 2026 16:58:34
Absolutely Class.

Free hit against Man U tomorrow. A point might prove to be massive if we can get it.

2

12 Apr 2026 21:41:42
Brobbey cost £20m, and I'm not sure we had the money in the bank to buy him.

1

12 Apr 2026 16:05:37
Thanks be to Farke, nice 1 Mack'ems.

2

12 Apr 2026 13:59:20
If florists and spuds both - which I think they will - then the DoorDash we are in is infinitely worse and we must become favorite of the 4 left to drop. Or am I just being pessimistic?

1

12 Apr 2026 15:16:38
On current form, it's us & Spurs on poorest. If they get a result today, we are officially in a pickle, which, by the way, I always felt we would slide down this far.

Next Saturday is colossal for us.

1

12 Apr 2026 15:36:33
On the flip side, Spuds lose, we win tomorrow and next Saturday, happy days.

2

12 Apr 2026 16:01:19
That would be massive six points, Davey!

Let's hope your footie predictions are far more accurate than your Masters golf prediction.

2

12 Apr 2026 16:14:15
Lol, Baz, you minx. 😘 Sitting at 4 under and I have him to finish top 10, so hoping for a dazzling last round.

2

12 Apr 2026 16:21:47
Look on the bright side, Vid. McIlroy is sharing the lead on -11.

2

12 Apr 2026 16:43:10
Well, should have an idea how it's gonna go after the first JR, Brooks has bogied it every day so far. 😆😅

1

12 Apr 2026 17:04:31
I was hoping for Rose, and at -8 he's still in with a shout.

1

12 Apr 2026 17:13:24
Rose is playing great, JR. If you look, each day there are some really low scores. Someone is gonna hit around 65. Who is the question, lol?

1

12 Apr 2026 17:39:14
Lowry hopefully Vid, have a couple of sheckles on him.

1

12 Apr 2026 20:52:10
Sorry lads, but golf betting is the biggest mugs game of all sports.
100-150 odd runners, the market is purely in the bookies favour.
I had a nifty on Koepka!

12 Apr 2026 10:07:35
A Spuds win today puts them above us on goal difference, and whilst I remain delighted to have won our FA Cup game, many warned of the potential risk in key players being injured.

Nuno didn’t risk either Cree or Mavropannas and they were instrumental in their thrashing of Wolves.

Sam Byram (a fantastic servant) hasn’t had a kick as yet this season and now it begs the question in terms of our squad size and quality, will we be found wanting with our current level of injuries.

Have previously stated I believe we have the best togetherness and fight of all the relegation threatened teams, however, I also believe our salvation will come down to how Daniel performs from here on in.

And for myself, I consider we have a coach that is plagued by self doubt.

I still have Spuds (just) favourite for the drop but momentum is huge at this time of the year and we need Sunderland to do us a huge favour today.

2

12 Apr 2026 12:00:00
Any favours will be greatly accepted, Class, but if we can't get 7 - 9 points from the remaining games, we cannot complain. It's in our hands.

3

12 Apr 2026 12:21:12
I just cannot see Spurs going down, I think we will drop into the 3rd spot soon enough. Not scoring is a massive nous around our necks.

Here's hoping I am totally wrong.

1

12 Apr 2026 12:43:18
Agree all the above. It's gonna be bloody close. And we can't score for s***. I'm very nervous. Think spam will be safe. Sunderland need to put a nail in Spuds' coffin. Can't really see Spuds going down, but they need to win games like we need to score.

And neither of us are doing a good job at the moment. Forget Devon and focus 100% on our home games. And yes, Class. I don't give a flying flan about FA Cup.

1

12 Apr 2026 16:05:16
Sunderland 1, Spuds 0.
Who says they can't go down?

3

12 Apr 2026 17:17:46
Romeo injured now too!

0

12 Apr 2026 22:25:28
I do, and we have a lot of tough games incoming, JR, coupled with the fact we've gone so long without scoring in league games.

I just can't understand how some of us can just glide over our tough games with a but but but approach, but then when our fellow strugglers have the same type of games it's "ah, they're in trouble because they're playing such & such in the run-in."

We are knee deep in it currently.

1

13 Apr 2026 07:00:56
Very true, Chris.

0

12 Apr 2026 08:47:21
A question and I don’t think any fan would know the answer to it because we are Leeds fans. Do Man United fans today look at the rivalry with the same intensity as we do?
Or do they consider their own derby with City or even for that matter Liverpool more important and with perhaps more venom?

Being a one-club City, we don’t have a real natural rival.

1

12 Apr 2026 08:59:33
I think they see us as scum but will not be worried about the game. Beating pool or city far more important than beating us.

1

12 Apr 2026 09:15:07
More fool them, I think, if they imagine this game as a definite three pointer. I see this game as quite a tricky game for Man Utd, one they could lose if we catch them cold with this long break.

We must deal with our chances first time. There's been far too many missed goal opportunities this season. If we can do that tomorrow, then we might have a chance of overturning them.
Slabhead is suspended also.

1

12 Apr 2026 10:32:37
My late father, gawd bless him, followed the dark side, and he used to say beating Liverpool, then Citeh, was order of importance for them, that we didn't really figure, as we were never strong enough to be an issue or concern.

Jermaine's wonderful goal aside, don't think O can argue against that view.

1

12 Apr 2026 12:01:47
Older fans who watched in the 60s and 70s, yes, but not so much later generations.

3

12 Apr 2026 12:23:34
Let's be honest here.
The only rivalry nowadays is between fans.

When have we ever really bothered them in the last 20 years? Please don't say Beckford's goal. 🤣

3

12 Apr 2026 12:45:06
Agree again, Class. Nail on head, mate.

1

12 Apr 2026 16:15:42
Rivalries are seen differently from each side. Local media here in West Yorkshire keep saying Bradford and Huddersfield are our great rivals, but from a Leeds perspective they're not and never have been. For each of them, I can count on the fingers of one hand the number of seasons we've been in the same division, so we can't be rivals with teams we never play.

I guess that's why most MU fans don't see us as rivals, as we've spent most of the last 22 years in the Championship.

1

12 Apr 2026 08:39:57
Being realistic, we get anything for tomorrow's game will be a bonus. Our under fire manager has more experience, but their team has more quality, and unfortunately the injuries picked up in a needless FA Cup match will not help. But Lady Luck may be on our side. All to play for, nothing to lose.

2

12 Apr 2026 09:01:38
A free hit for Farke to go at it. But no 5-0 please. Tanaka to play. Gnonto up front instead of Calv. Give em some unexpected problems to solve.

0

12 Apr 2026 09:04:47
Needless FA Cup match, White? Far from it, I would say!

5

12 Apr 2026 12:02:34
Willy scored twice the last time we were there.

3

12 Apr 2026 14:53:04
LUFC, I would much prefer to have our players in league games, not lose them in cup games, but it was a great game anyway. And it's only my opinion, like some would like to replace Farke, some wouldn't.
How about we replace him with a woman manager, as they seem to be moving in on the game more now.

1

11 Apr 2026 23:58:07
When we look back on the season I think the Sunderland loss is one of the most difficult to stomach and will hopefully not prove to be the catastrophic one that leads to our demise.

3

12 Apr 2026 00:59:53
Yep, that game; defeat with a needlessly defensive team line up sucked big time. Not beating, at the time, an understrength, out of form Sunderland at home.

Can't help wishing Sheffield United had won the playoffs, not Sunderland.

As Sheffield Utd would have very likely, imo, joined Burnley and Wolves in going down on around 20 to 25 points, with therefore no relegation battle angst for Leeds United players, owners and fans.

4

12 Apr 2026 09:00:43
I don't believe one game defines your season. There are thirty games to play, and it's how you perform in all these games that will determine the club's fate at the end of the season.

1

12 Apr 2026 12:04:06
Agree OP, it is over the season, but that performance against Sunderland stank the place out.

4

12 Apr 2026 12:17:21
As OP says, it is the sum of your performances over 38 games that is all. You can point to games such as Sunderland, plus the away matches at Burnley and Brighton, and even games where we have not capitalised on dominance. But it is futile.

It is how we react that's important. Fear of relegation creates a need to apportion blame, such as injuries in the cup. But, if you are gonna fear what has not yet happened, it's pretty pointless taking part in any competition or even getting out of bed. 🙃

4

12 Apr 2026 18:52:31
Like it's pointless to have an opinion. 🤦‍♂️

4

12 Apr 2026 22:53:47
It's called football banter or debate Whiteman, something I'm afraid that you are completely and utterly devoid of.🤦‍♂️
