Gaby off with what looks like a hamstring injury!
Time to sign another left back.

TikTok Leeds, let’s get this transfer window moving.

Oil tankers doing a 180 degree turn move quicker than our current recruitment team, Davey.

Probably the most reputable ITK on WACCOE reporting Trafford deal done.

02 Aug 2026 17:11:36
Imagine the surprise if he was in goal tonight!

02 Aug 2026 20:03:32
Imagine the surprise if Cairns gets injured and Farke has to go in nets !!!. 😂😂😂

02 Aug 2026 07:59:08
Club Brugge forward Nicolo Tresoldi is the reported new focus as a striker option.

02 Aug 2026 08:29:06
Why don't we buy him. No dilly dally. Hand over the dosh. It's that simple.

5

02 Aug 2026 11:10:02
Decisive, swift action indeed, very welcome, Aus.

4

02 Aug 2026 18:38:12
It's not that simple when we're talking £25M.

1

01 Aug 2026 19:00:42
Sam Byram appears to have gone and talks supposedly are taking place with BA because Farke wants to keep him. Haven't seen anything about Gruev and the club's position regarding offering him a new contract or selling him on.

He's well liked for all the things he does off the pitch apart from his playing ability. If we buy another midfielder, which I think we will, then maybe he or AO may go.

2

01 Aug 2026 20:34:24
I think Gruev is underrated. Is he as good as Tanaka in playmaking? No, but he's a better battler and has the ability to pull a great assist out of nowhere. He's also critical in that he's fully accepting of a squad role and honest minutes. That, and his exceptional contribution to the community, means I'd keep him over Tanaka.

I can see Tanaka getting itchy feet if he doesn't play as much next season. I think Gruev has a higher floor and lower ceiling. Tanaka has a low floor on an off day and a high ceiling.

Gruev also isn't on much and might accept similar terms or only a modest increase.

4

01 Aug 2026 20:53:08
I think we're both on the same page, Ealing. If we buy a forward-thinking midfielder, someone has to go. The return on AO would be so much better and improve our squad ratio.

4

01 Aug 2026 21:15:25
Am I the only one getting a tad twitchy with our recruitment progress?

By this Monday, just 4 weeks remain of the window, and just 3 weeks or so until the EPL season.

Our main striker, Dcl, is out injured currently, and Cairns is our number 1.

5

01 Aug 2026 21:58:36
Yes, it is squeaky bum time, Baz.
We probably decided we'd keep Darlow, but maybe not as no. 1.
I think that was a mistake.
Once he went, we were spending big bucks on a replacement.
The other mistake was that we'd get Wilson and Brandt on frees, which would free up money for elsewhere.
Wilson worked out, but Brandt didn't.

The conclusion is that we will have to spend more than we originally thought, as we need a LB cover, two keepers, a quality striker, and maybe a no. 10.
Last year was a good recruitment window, but this year isn't looking so good.
We have a decent squad, but need to add a bit more quality.

4

01 Aug 2026 21:59:07
Completely agree, Baz, we've sat on our hands again with Brandt!

No backup left back linked.

No keepers except Trafford linked.

Nothing happening on a 10 or a 9 to note!

Paixao linked (I'd take him) , but certainly not at EUR50m.

It's scarily quiet.

3

01 Aug 2026 22:43:57
Indeed, Dune.
I said at the time it was a 'disaster' that Darlow was leaving. The club should have given him a 3-year contract as a number 1, with a hefty pay increase.

Don't be surprised at all if we end up not signing Trafford for a number of reasons.

Not least, Citeh haven't signed a replacement, and won't authorise a sale until / unless they do recruit one.

Things could potentially get very messy.

2

01 Aug 2026 22:48:53
Indeed, Dave..

The Paxo link reeks of bs again.. A smokescreen for nowt, genuinely happening at the moment perhaps.

No LB link. No sign of a striker. Concerning.

Apart from seeking a keeper .. Are the 49ers done this window?

2

02 Aug 2026 03:32:38
Paxo didn't choose us the first time so why would he now. More wasted time.
I'd keep Gruev over Ao.
Bit torn with Ba. Ba is a bit like Amps for me, ok against lower prem teams but not good enough v the better teams. I know that's unpopular. Just the way I see it.

2

02 Aug 2026 08:03:19
Yes Baz, that was an excellent and valid point raised by Wigan Mally, wasn't it? Sits nicely in your scare mongering agenda too, tho you could at least give him the credit for it.

2

02 Aug 2026 08:51:02
Let's all remember that Underwood and co have 1 gear.
They are in the USA so can't possibly multitask.

1

02 Aug 2026 11:12:13
Good point, Mally, below.

01 Aug 2026 07:23:07
Reports saying the keeper deal is off on Leeds site.

2

01 Aug 2026 07:42:30
Wouldn't surprise me if they've reevaluated what else we need and are now missing out on Brandt. £40/45m on a keeper is a stretch.
When we need
2 x keepers
1 x lb
1 x 10
1 x 9
1 x CM

One thing's for sure, they need to get this transfer window moving, and pretty quickly.

5

01 Aug 2026 07:49:28
Don't think we need a midfielder. 100% 2 keepers. Lb. Striker and am.

2

01 Aug 2026 07:48:05
What Leeds site?

2

01 Aug 2026 08:58:58
Dave
I think we will end up with 1 keeper.
No defenders, they will.
And 2 attacking players, 1 a 9 and 1 winger / 10.
I don't believe we will get anyone else.

I believe we could do with more, but unless we snap up another loan of freebie, I can't see it.

1

01 Aug 2026 10:44:52
This is driving me nuts! 49's don't say anything until deals are penned, we are all searching for reliable information that does not materialise. Even Romano gets it wrong (Pax last year) . Brandt's dad arriving at TA, wrong, off to Ajax! It wouldn't be Leeds without last minute drama, you've got to love It! MOT..

5

01 Aug 2026 13:52:47
That info has been removed, and all points to the deal being on, and the likely delay is due to Trafford being on a FIFA-mandated post-World Cup holiday that runs until after August 8.

1

01 Aug 2026 14:35:02
I don't think City will let James Trafford leave until they find a replacement. That's my thoughts on the matter, so I will await and let it develop.

2

01 Aug 2026 17:02:18
They've got Donarumma, Charles (out on loan at QPR) , and Bettinelli, who's 34, only made 7 PL starts years ago, and hasn't had a match for 5 years. They certainly need another one as second choice.

1

31 Jul 2026 23:09:43
Paixao being strongly linked again.

1

01 Aug 2026 01:31:40
And we still can't afford him - £30M plus, likely.

1

01 Aug 2026 18:51:25
Maybe we could do if we weren't buying 41 square miles of a city west of Leeds.

0

31 Jul 2026 19:47:46
Sounds like Brandt has signed for Ajax!?

4

31 Jul 2026 20:00:25
He really isn't all that anyway. We need some pace in attack and he isn't that guy.

4

31 Jul 2026 20:00:57
Yep, correct.

3

31 Jul 2026 20:03:43
Announced on Ajax website.

2

31 Jul 2026 20:04:52
If you said that before he signed for Ajax, Dave, you would have had more gravitas.

5

31 Jul 2026 20:21:07
What a surprise. We do have a tendency to pursue targets over a long period, even when it's quite obvious we've been played. It might be unfair on Brandt, but the only reason I can see why he went to Ajax, who are in the Europa League and not the main event, is that he decided that the Premier League might prove to be a step too far, and too physical and athletic for him.

It will be a much quieter life in the Eredivisie. 🥱
We move on.

3

31 Jul 2026 21:24:40
Not surprised indeed, Dune. Well summed up.

For me, currently, the 2020/2021 summer window of Raphinha, Rodrigoal, Koch and Llorente is far, far better than this one.

1

31 Jul 2026 21:28:14
I have said it, Corkey, on many other YouTube vloggers live streams and possibly on here.
He's 30, no sell-on value, never played outside Germany. The fact he has strung us along for a month.

He isn't prem ready. He would get gobbled up in the prem, he's too slow.
He's basically just after a last big payday.
Harry Wilson will do a better job as a 10.

3

01 Aug 2026 00:39:38
What BV?

That was a shocker of a summer. Rapha is one of the best players ever to pull on the shirt, but the other three were soft as s**** and totally unsuited to PL football.

On Brandt, he obviously fancied an easy ride, and in hindsight maybe fortunate to have missed him. We do hang around a little too long at times over guys who don't really want to come here.

1

01 Aug 2026 01:01:36
At least there's still a month left of the window. We can now concentrate on alternative targets, like Pavel Sulc, who was suggested last week, only 20 yrs old, but would set us back, say, £15-20M rather than a free agent like Brandt.

1

01 Aug 2026 01:04:42
Glad re Brandt. Not good enough for Prem.

1

01 Aug 2026 02:58:05
Frog, re 20/21 summer signings.

Rodrigo scored 30 EPL goals for Leeds United.

Raph is the best Leeds player for the past 25 years.

Koch was decent overall.

2

30 Jul 2026 17:50:03
Some reports saying that Trafford is at TA today, so maybe the announcement isn't too far away.

3

30 Jul 2026 20:20:47
Yay ...hopefully.

0

31 Jul 2026 08:28:48
He must be playing hide and seek with the management.

1

31 Jul 2026 09:19:49
Interesting that the forgotten man, Bornauw, had a good game. He could prove very useful cover for our back 3

4

31 Jul 2026 09:30:26
I don't mind Born. I'd keep him for sure. That's 4 goodens, plus couple yoof and amps and Justin. Plenty.

3

31 Jul 2026 09:31:14
I reckon Leeds will be using the same solicitor I used to move house, expect to compete every Friday, and they would find some other reason to drag it on for another week!

5

31 Jul 2026 09:42:07
Anymore news on this.?

0

31 Jul 2026 10:12:56
No, but I think LLF and I use the same solicitors.

4

31 Jul 2026 10:20:23
They do house sales and criminal lawyers. That's unusual.

6

31 Jul 2026 14:52:38
Aus, you're back!! I laughed out loud at that little gem. 🤣

2

31 Jul 2026 18:34:55
Why's he choosing the Territorial Army?

2

30 Jul 2026 14:40:14
I think we're doing alright.

Trafford will sign post holiday medical.

Some clubs who I think will really struggle based on current status.

Sunderland - prime candidates for 1 season wonders and Europe stretching their squad.

Fulham - relying heavily on arbeloas relationship with two Madrid youngsters to hit the ground running as they replace Jimenez and Wilson. If they and/ or rodrigo Muniz and Kevin don't step up they're in big trouble.

Newcastle - looks like a fire sale and the manager gone too. New signings unknown and need to hit the ground like Fulham. Fans might think they have 'too big to go downitis'. Lose guimaraes and if Wissa and Woltemade don't improve it's a lot on Osula.

Villa - they're losing Digne, Rogers is gone. They can't spend a lot right now. Talk of Konsa leaving and with Mings really ageing I think they're super thin defensively without much scr headroom even after Rogers. Reliant on Mazambi. Having seen enough of Manzambi though think he's class. Garnacho a risk loan. Martinez wants out Abraham is injured and Watkins had a good yr last yr and will need to again. Will be fine but worse than last year.

Palace - I don't think they've spent well. The panicked a bit in January as they slid down the table and bought JSl and Brennan Johnson. Sold Lacroix who'll need to be replaced.

Everton - apart from tyrick George they seem to be treading a bit of water. They'll be heavily reliant on the inflated fee they might get from Saudi for Ndiaye. So so light up front and Keane and Tarkowski are at the point where guilty until proven innocent. If a wildcard comes good like dibling settles then they'll be alright.

I don't think Leeds can finish above villa even at their worst but all those other teams at present yes. Caveated by there's a lot of trading to be done.

Brentford look good, without having done much, Brighton will be fine as they have a succession plan for welbeck. Bournemouth I think will be ok even if the blow about kroupi and I think forest will be alright too if the owner let's glasner do his thing.

3

30 Jul 2026 15:43:56.
No disrespect here, Ealing, but I do have a little giggle at these types of very biased posts.

Apart from Mack'ens, those teams are all fairly fundamental Prem teams, with plenty of staying up experience.

Barcodes will just go buy a few now.
Villa only had 1 scare in many, many years.
Palace always seem to pull rabbits out.

Same with a few others you mentioned.

Brentford were "gone" last season after Frank left, and look how that turned out.

There's so many nuances to how clubs actually progress through a season, it's almost impossible to call, apart from the new 3, which is where it mostly happens.

6

30 Jul 2026 16:23:46
I agree that Sunderland will likely struggle this seez. I would lurve em to get relegated.

Still think bottom six will comprise of the 3 promoted teams, Sunderland, Palace and Leeds.

For me, our season's success hinges on:

1) having few injuries.

and

2) signing at least a goal-scoring striker. We simply cannot risk going again into an EPL seez with just DCL and Nmecha, and Piroe is pointless.

7

30 Jul 2026 17:04:20
Villa also lost Tielemans, so a huge midfield change for them.

2

30 Jul 2026 17:15:03
Agree, Baz.
We were lucky with injuries last season, and it only hit us right at the end when we were safe. If we'd two or three key players out at the same time, for a long spell after the Man City away game, the season might have ended differently.

We do need to find the DCL back up, one who can be ahead of Nmecha and stay fit.

5

30 Jul 2026 17:33:32
Absolutely Dune. 💯

3

31 Jul 2026 09:19:09
West Ham were a fairly fundamental Premier League team with plenty of staying up experience. I can see the point Ealing is making. Very often an established team gets relegated and this coming season may see the same.

2

31 Jul 2026 10:59:50
Unless it's Palace, and they will probably stay up 16th or so. No chance any other established EPL club is going down this seez imo.

1

31 Jul 2026 11:18:07
Fulham, CP, Sunderland, Brentford, Newcastle and Everton are all, at this moment in time, possible relegation candidates, imo. Oh, and even the mighty Leeds.

2

31 Jul 2026 15:00:46
Not so sure about that, Baz. Barcodes have already lost Tonali and Gordon, with maybe Guimares and Woltemade to follow, on top of losing Isak last year. Now, Eddie Howe has walked out, and may be replaced by Matthias Jaissle, who has zero PL experience.

I can see them sinking into the do-do too.

But, there again, I said something similar about Brentford this time last year and was wrong then, so what do I know.
