I would like the Harry Wilson signing to be put to bed and announced this week. It's not done till it's done. Has he gone on holiday in one of Musk's rockets?

Mandela Keita from Parma rumoured to be our new target after moving on from Shea Charles.
06 Jul 2026 12:21:36
Everton want to pay £21m, but payments would be over a long period, and Parma wants more. Atlanta are interested, but won't pay the price. He would be a good alternative to Charles, but probably won't be any cheaper.
06 Jul 2026 13:26:31
56 days to the end of the transfer window.
My guess is 4 or 5 incoming signings max.
06 Jul 2026 13:34:23
I'd be happy with that.
06 Jul 2026 13:39:58
Prob 3 goalkeepers, as can't be short on the bench. Wilson and a cb.
06 Jul 2026 14:13:41
No striker signing, Aus?
That's a must get!
06 Jul 2026 14:47:51
Very funny, Aus!. 👏🏼👏🏼
05 Jul 2026 17:36:13
Sorry, Monchengladbach - not Wolfsburg.
05 Jul 2026 19:24:18
Wolfsburg should have taken the money and run Alf. 😂
05 Jul 2026 23:21:58
Offer them another £1½M in add ons.
05 Jul 2026 17:34:39
Leeds have had an 8.5m offer for Elvedi turned down. Apparently Wolfsburg are wanting nearer his 10m buy out clause.
04 Jul 2026 11:12:05
The Wilson delay is due to him being at a training camp in Portugal with other PL pros, reportedly. At least he'll start fit and raring to go!
04 Jul 2026 13:08:35
Gets tapped up and signs elsewhere would be typical Leeds.
04 Jul 2026 13:09:32
Yes but Jack Harrison does that every season...
04 Jul 2026 13:51:56
.. A jolly on the Algarve beaches?
As for Jackie.. one of the fittest at LUFC during the Bielsa era.
04 Jul 2026 13:55:22
Very true, Baz, in that style of play he looked decent. In the slow tippy tappy type we play, not so much.
04 Jul 2026 15:35:33
Wilson was injured at the end of the season, so maybe he's just trying to get up to speed before the season starts. Maguire and Madison are out there with a few others.
04 Jul 2026 15:39:46
Should have said before training starts which I'd probably in the next ten days.
04 Jul 2026 14:16:27
Proper training needed for whole team. Send them to Siberia. Toughen up boys.
Bloody Portugal. Wussies.
05 Jul 2026 17:21:14
Ya, he's frequenting the dentist's chair nightly. 😂
04 Jul 2026 09:48:57
I must say, apart from the obvious (Haaland, Messi, Mbappe and Kane) , I've been struggling to spot anyone who has really stood out for me at the World Cup - or should I say, anyone that we could afford!
I'm rather more optimistic that our recruitment team have been turning their attention away from the American continent and focusing on Europe in an attempt to snaffle up a few more top signings like last season.
Another Bijol, Stach and DCL would do very nicely, thank you.
Must add, delighted with Harry Wilson - excellent signing.
And here's one from left field (and will take cover immediately after mentioning him) - Mason Mount.
Yes, he is from the dark side (but then so were Johnny Giles and Gordon Strachan, and they certainly never let us down) .
Yes, he'll be on big money but how ambitious are we? He might want to renew his partnership with Wilson?
And yes, his injury record is abysmal (but then so was DCL's until he came to us) .
As I say, very left field but if all of the above reasons turned from negative to positive you've got a top drawer player who on his day can produce the goods at the highest level.
Off to put on the tin hat!
04 Jul 2026 14:22:28
You must be being selective in your World Cup viewing. I can proudly announce I've watched every single game in some format, and there are heaps better than we have at available price. Just need to look at less popular teams to get value.
Austria. Kongo. Switzerland varde nz. Aus. Pretty much, every nation has better than we have in all positions. Affordable too. Our recruitment is not up to it.
03 Jul 2026 16:07:24
Schmidt getting interest according to Graham Smythe and Gray to Sheffield Wed should happen soon.
03 Jul 2026 16:37:00
Just another season in L1 for Harry?
No Champo club interested in him?
Bit disappointed he hasn't the talent of great uncle Eddie.
But maybe he will still develop into a good player.
03 Jul 2026 18:00:11
I think they probably want to ensure he gets plenty of game time, and L1 will certainly toughen him up. Wednesday have had their best sale of season tickets, so it should be a good atmosphere, and they must be looking to be challenging for promotion, which is different from his stint at Rotherham.
The Blades were interested, but there'd be a lot more competition, and he might have been seen as a sub.
03 Jul 2026 18:40:03
As a striker, playing in a team likely to be nearer the top than the bottom, as Rotherham were, should give him many more opportunities to show what he can do.
03 Jul 2026 19:52:56
Canada, bang on. Better at a top-end League One club than most likely not getting much playing time at Championship level, which is probably what would happen unless he was at a team fighting relegation.
03 Jul 2026 21:18:53
Let him start at Wednesday, if he's amazing. Look at it in Jan, and send him to the Ch, or even back to us.
03 Jul 2026 08:32:43
Increased our offer for Shea apparently. Been rejected.
Also says Brobbery looking for a change.
03 Jul 2026 10:02:08
Time to walk well away from Charles and any dealings with Southcock.
I mean, let's be realistic, they want £30m for him.
Angelo Stiller has a EUR34m release clause.
I know Stiller is highly doubtful, but I know who I'd rather see in the glorious white shirt next season.
03 Jul 2026 10:12:58
Southampton have denied that an increased bid of £23m plus add ons has been made. They say it's significantly less, and they want nearer £30m.
We seem to get fixated with players, for example Paixo, and waste a lot of time on pursuing them, often with no result. Time to look elsewhere, find another Stach for £17m.
03 Jul 2026 11:16:58
Would appear that Everton paid about £16m for Hackney, with about £8m of add ons. Championship player of the year last season. It would appear that he had one year left on his contract, and pushed for a move to Merseyside.
Any offer for Charles shouldn't be any better than that.
03 Jul 2026 12:25:15
Bang on, dun.
Seems we like overpaying and underselling. Hope it's a habit we can break?
03 Jul 2026 12:30:53
Old habits die hard. 😬
03 Jul 2026 13:15:50
The club see Charles as a much better long-term prospect, with a higher ceiling and much higher sell-on potential. They will have a maximum amount they will go to, but who knows what that figure is. Meanwhile, Soton are expecting a bid from Atalanta, which they expect to be closer to £30m, but if that doesn't come, then their precarious financial situation means they may consider lower offers (such as ours) .
Sadly, this isn't a video game, and real-life transfer processes can take time, particularly when money is tight.
03 Jul 2026 16:08:13
I suppose, to some extent, we were a bit spoilt last summer when Nmecha, Bournauw, Gud and Bijol were also signed early July. The rest were spread out, and then a sudden rush in late August when DCL, Okafor and JJ arrived. Three good signings late on, so maybe plenty of time to get it sorted.
03 Jul 2026 16:19:03
I suggested buying Brobbey last year when he signed for Sunderland for £20M, but the club were set on their fruitless pursuit of Strand Larsen for £40M. Now the rumour is that he wants to move again, tho, by now his valuation is £30M plus.
Would be a great acquisition, but I'd be a bit wary of a player who wants to move only one year into a 5-year contract. Would he sign for us and then want out this time next year?
03 Jul 2026 16:28:18
How on earth could we have bought JSL if we had to sell Pascal to comply with PSR.
If we'd have bought him, we'd have been in a fire sale this summer. Glad we didn't for multiple reasons!
03 Jul 2026 18:02:45
Sunderland have just sold Mayenda for £22m, so unless they've got some others lined up, can't see they'll let Brobbey go as well.
01 Jul 2026 13:01:28
That horrendous red top reporting that Leeds are among several clubs interested in Amario Cozier-Duberry after an impressive loan spell at Bolton. Hull City, West Ham and clubs in France and Germany are also monitoring him.
02 Jul 2026 06:52:19
The laugh of it all is Brighton would probably charge more than they bought Struijk for.
02 Jul 2026 09:51:50
Coventry have supposedly agreed to pay Brighton just over £28m for Carl Rushworth who was on loan with them last season.
The amounts being quoted and paid for "top" midfielders such as Anderson, Tonali, Fernandez, etc., seem to be having a ripple effect, and prices in all positions in the PL seem to be rising rapidly.
Pascal was a different situation, but look at Brentford's efforts to sign Anthony from Burnley.
They've had one bid rejected, but have now gone in at around £25m. Shea Charles is quoted at £30m.
We've done very well over the last few seasons buying in Europe, and the recruitment last year in general was good. We need to replicate it again this window. There's better value outside England.
02 Jul 2026 11:50:39
£28 million for Carl Rushworth seems steep..Brighton excelling in market again.
02 Jul 2026 14:35:51
Agree, Dunelm.
