Seems to be a lot more chatter going on re Trafford, especially as Newcastle seem to have withdrawn their interest.
Surprising one with the fee being suggested but that was the opening gambit.

Money v what? Prob always second or third choice, team and country. Better keep taking dosh. It's an impossible deal. Move on unless under 25.

If he wants to play football and get himself into the England squad - it makes sense to move. He's guaranteed number one with us, which makes it an attractive proposition. Newcastle have just spent £20m on a new keeper, so it makes sense that he wouldn't want to be stuck in a similar position as last year, albeit against a more reasonable rival for position.



I think, from this year's World Cup, it is clear Pickford's days as England No.1 are done - at least at major competitions.

I feel there is a suitable chance for him to jump ahead of Henderson into that new No.1 slot, but he needs to play - and he will be acutely aware of this. to our benefit, hopefully!

CM and DM often play very different roles in a team so while they may be located fairly close to each other on the pitch, the way they play is very different.

A short overview is:

A central midfielder is an all-round player who operates in the middle of the pitch and contributes to both attack and defence.



A defensive midfielder plays deeper, usually just in front of the centre-backs. Their primary job is to protect the defence and break up opposition attacks.

Being linked with a few, but Scheperen is already in talks with Ipswich, and they have signed Oevelen as back up. Tzolakis linked with us, but it looks like he's off to Hull. Suzuki seemingly is interested, but the price quoted is around £26m.

There'll be others, but it's slow progress.
Disagreement with Torino re Perri, who wants an option to buy, but we're insisting on an obligation. On past performance on loans, I expect us to give in.

Just 2 signings made within half the window, and (with Darlow disastrously leaving) no number 1 gk signing.

LUFC have friendlies soon, with, as it stands, currently either last season's 4th choice Cairns or a keeper, Perri, who Farke has no trust in and is looking to offload from the club.



This needs sorting ASAP, as it's not in any way ideal preparation for the start of the EPL season, nor a good look on our recruitment dept imo. 😕

Are we going to not play Okafor or Wilson then, because neither Brandt, Okafor, or Wilson can be part of any current Leeds three-man mf that doesn't get run over in a back 4. We were 5,3,1,1 last season, and were pushed hard in mf.

Spurs have repeated that over the last 2 years. Sign Charles and you might get 2 of those 3 attacking options on in a 4, 3, 2, 1 with Charles and Ampadu holding behind Stach, with 2 attackers + DCL up top.
