Harrison don't want to play for Leeds in the championship if Everton cut short his loan well that's good because I for one don't want him and now 49,s should stop any any payment he is due if they send him back to us . I have a few chose words but I will not say then. If we do hot up he can rot somewhere else .
08 Jan 2025 13:16:32
My sentiments also Whiteman but Baz said he’d love him to come back to Leeds, reckons he’s quality?
08 Jan 2025 13:22:17
Agree whitey. He had his chances with us.
08 Jan 2025 13:39:46
Of the opinion they can’t send him back. Not sure.
But.
If it can be proven he said he dosent want to play for Leeds in championship. Surely we don’t have to pay him anymore.
Guaranteed never get any dollar for him ?.
08 Jan 2025 13:45:12
OP FYI this one of the rare topics I disagree with brother Baz on.
08 Jan 2025 14:32:28
I’ve got no problem with Harrison coming back but not sure he would get game time amongst those 4 wing options. So I imagine he will go out on loan again if he comes back!
08 Jan 2025 14:52:01
I didn’t want any of them back including Wober and BA, no solid rationale behind my views other than you don’t want to fight to get back into the epl given you were key parts of the team that was relegated…. then I personally don’t want you back.
Not so much lack of rationale more of a grudge on my part really.
As for Harrison, he’s protected by his (recently signed and significantly enhanced) Contract and so long as he doesn’t refuse to play he picks all of his considerable money irrespective of whether we want him or he plays or doesn’t. He can sue us for breach of contract should we not pay him.
It’s a stretch to feel empathy for the modern footballer.
08 Jan 2025 16:25:30
I’m with you on that Class but empathy is a word I would describe for young Meslier, even with his lack of form of late, at least he wasn’t one of those scattering money grabbing self serving rats, yet it would seem we all welcome back with open arms the likes of Aaronson and Wöber because they had nowhere else to go.
Standards and values mean damn little these days.
Who cares, right? It’s just a friggin’ football team!
08 Jan 2025 16:31:30
1) Any quotes directly from JH saying this? . no? Thought not
2) YEP reported yesterday JH is remaining at Everton.
3) . As re JH quality. in EPL seasons for Leeds Utd only Raphinha conttubuted more.
08 Jan 2025 16:36:04
OP hope BAZ can see it now saying he don’t want to play for Leeds in the championship he takes the money, he not even good enough for the sun team in my book.
08 Jan 2025 16:38:34
OP well said.
08 Jan 2025 17:10:48
BA and Wober left, yes.
They had to return, correct.
But they've put their head down and played their heart of for Leeds, just like Gnonto did.
We all make mistakes and I appreciate BA and Wober helping out, even if it is smoke and mirrors for a season.
Harrison though, he pushed for a new contract at the end of the season, threatening to leave otherwise, then left anyway. He has no place at Leeds, regardless of skill.
08 Jan 2025 17:42:28
But Meslier isn’t allowed to put his head down, work hard but make the occasional mistake? We are still top of the league with Le Gashlier n’est pas?
08 Jan 2025 17:49:49
Baz in the Yorkshire Evening Post,
Harrison is also noted to have made it CLEAR HE dose not Want to PLAY for LEEDS in the Championship By exercising the clause in his contract.
That’s good enough for Me and as said above Mess didn’t cry off unlike this dog and.
08 Jan 2025 18:34:19
OP ' occasional mistake'? . Give over
Class, Cheshire and Geo in their outstanding posts below remind you its uber multiple mistakes
We would have 8 points more.
08 Jan 2025 18:37:25
Opti,
Mes can still turn it around but he, like Gnonto, are going backwards in terms of ability. Maybe a few games off or a new club would be good for him and Bamford.
He's still Leeds and I respect the guy but the club is bigger than the player, manager and fans.
08 Jan 2025 18:49:00
Whitey pal. Orta and LUFC negotiated JH new contract. the contracth is on them
Everton came in for JH thus
1) giving JH a much better option to continue to play in the better EPL league
And
2) JH gets paid his FULL salary rather than 50 % to 60% less salary if he plays in Champo
Would you Whitey or OP or anyone on here turn that down? Course not!
Neither would Meslier. he would have said '"Oui" and been gone in a flash if an EPL club wanted him
but as he is " un major liability " no EPL club very unsurprisingly wants Mes.
08 Jan 2025 19:47:31
I do have to agree with Baz here. JH played well for us when played in his position albeit a bit inconsistently and would be a good asset should he return. I don't blame the guy for wanting to do the best he can for his career and for his family. It's annoying when any player doesn't bleed white for the team but the fact is he isn't a Leeds fan and he is a footballer. Not many players these days would take a wage cut and play at a lower level if they had the choice. I don't think Mes had that clause so he was more or less stuck.
{Ed025's Note - after watching him for 2 seasons at Everton Alf...describing him as a "footballer" is stretching it a bit mate, very limited player who may just be able to hold his own in the championship but if you have aspirations to play in the prem you need better players than him im afraid..
08 Jan 2025 19:49:24
Baz
Unfortunately I would mate if you don’t want to stay at play for the team that you sign just months a go a fight it then you can sod off that’s how I feel and unfortunately it will never change I was a big fan of his but he dissed my club and you Ain’t want back by is fan . Probably not what you want to know Baz but it’s my opinion, and I know many Leeds fan who feel the same. Only thing I would say how much will we get if he keeps getting loan out and he contract end not what we paid for him I bet. ?.
08 Jan 2025 21:06:57
Fair enough Whitey pal your opinion.
For me I agree with Alf on this.
08 Jan 2025 21:04:07
Ed025 I can assure you JH at LUFC in the EPL 2020 to 2023 was most definitely a talented " footballer" contributing a combo of 50 goals and assists many, many superb ones at that.
His supreme match winning hatrick away to West Ham in 2022 and his goal vs Newcastle at home in 2021 spectacular, great shooting technique etched in ones memory in particular.
Maybe Mr Bielsa had a very large part in his excellent play, goals and assists
Whereas Everton under Mr Dyche and his dour anti football anti goal scoring " Dyche ball " has evidently severely regressed him / not suited JH.
{Ed025's Note - I think you are right Baz especially about Dyche. He only plays hoofball and we are all sick of it mate. Jack works hard but he has been awful. Can’t make a 5yard pass and can’t shoot. He has been very poor for us and if you want him back I will push him to Elland rd in a wheelbarrow..
08 Jan 2025 21:39:52
What reduction in salary?
JH wasn’t tied to a reduction contract as he signed a new enhanced FIVE YEAR contract 2923-2028
I’m sure he signed it fully committed to the Leeds cause with not a thought for, oh well any loan deal they’ve got to at least match my new enhanced salary.
08 Jan 2025 21:48:48
Ed25 no way please don’t do that, I don’t thing it’s anything to with he wanted the best for his family or his football career he signed to for good money and good wages his head is bigger then his ?.
{Ed025's Note - but he’s only getting £90,000 a week Whiteman. You could always have a whip round for him mate ?..
08 Jan 2025 22:41:18
Class
the YEP on 15 April 2023 reported that JH new 5 year contract had
1) a relegation clause
And
2) his wages reduced upon relegation.
09 Jan 2025 12:21:57
A relegation clause which ensured he could go out on loan, most definitely, we know this for certain as he jumped ship the moment we had returned him to full fitness.
We don’t know for certain, but even if there was a reduction in wages clause, he wasn’t impacted either through his enhanced salary and his return to the EPL with toffees.
Actions speak louder than words and I personally never want to see Harrison in a Leeds shirt again.
